Sight seeing can be tiring and sightseeing on a hot day will make a guy hungry for a slice of good old Classic pepperoni pizza, New York style, and an iced cold beer. This place has both and what a wonderful slice of pizza it was. Mmmm mmm

Moving here from SF I was worried I wouldn’t find good pizza in Boise. BEHOLD… This place. Thank you universe… This pizza joint most def holds its place atop some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. I’m not a deep dish super cheesy kind of pizza lover, if that’s you, this place is not for you. If you want good pizza in the Boise area… It’s worth eating here. Def second to none.

I’ve been going to Guido’s Pizza downtown for a long time. I order a couple of slices for lunch and ask for crispy. Today I ordered one slice pepporoni and one basil. I always order crispy as that extra heat tends to burn off the grease and make the crust firm. Today, the slices I ordered were not crispy but literally soaked in grease all of the way through the crust. It was awful. Worst slices I’ve ever had from this place. Very disappointed. Not good! Will not be back any time soon. The thing I most dislike about Guido’s is that the service treats the customer more as an annoyance rather than a necessary component of their employment. Every time I go there I feel like I’m standing in line for the soup Nazi. If the slice is good, I can tolerate it but if it’s not as in today I cannot. Why is the quality so inconsistent. I introduced my best friend to Guido’s this year. First time was great. He brings his son the following Saturday hoping to have a great Dad/Son experience and he received the same grease soaked nasty slices I got today alongside the surly customer service to go along with it. Guido’s has grown extremely complacent in my opinion. Time to sharpen up as someone else will take your business.

Some of the finest pie in Boise. True New York style pizza that is just amazing. Nailed it.

First time at Guidos. Had to buy 2 large pizzas for some teenagers at Civil Air Patrol at Gowen field. Their large pizzas are LARGE. The crust was perfect and the topping amazing. Needless to say they were devowered in minutes. My office is 2 blocks from Guidos and I definitely plan to go there for lunch for some slices.

Guido’s is New York Style Pizza! No, seriously! You could transport Guido’s to NYC and it would be a locals«go to» place immediately! I am bringing my cousins, Vito and Rocko the next time that I’m in Boise! Nice job Guido’s!

Pretty good pizza especially for the price. Just be warned the staff is too busy to talk to you and if you order a large you will need a crane to get it home!

I am going to stick with my traditional pizza rating chart.(It is in my head.) This is great, simple pizza but nothing exceptionally special. I had a slice of a olive oil based pizza with pineapple and sausage. I put some hot flakes and hot sauce on top to add a little flavor. With and without the sauce, was a pretty great style pizza. I also had a slice of pepperoni that was full of flavor and I didn’t need to add any additional sauces to make it stand out. I would say my pepperoni slice was way better than the olive oil based pizza. The eating area was a bit shaken, they must have had a rush of pizza lovers. Tables were all dirty, the floor had trash all over it. We managed to turn our head and wipe our table with some hand wipes my mom had convenient. Having someone keep an eye on the floor and tables might make this experience a little better and cleaner. The rough feel was kind of fun though too. Kind of like New York! I love New York! Service was very friendly and quick. We received a few extra small slices of za since they couldn’t sell the smaller slices. Score us! I will be back. I wish we had ordered our own pizza from scratch. I am a little wigged out about my pizza being half cooked, or fully cooked, then warmed up.

The closest you’re gonna get to a nyc slice out here. Full disclosure though, this place gets an additional star is for all the Mets paraphernalia. The only Yankees penant you’ll see is at the entrance to the hall leading to the bathroom. The Yankees make me want to move my bowels too. Thumbs up.

Pizza is delicious, affordable and portioned right. Five stars for the pie, minus three stars for the staff. What’s with these guys? They are never, ever nice and quite often downright rude. I’ve worked in restaurants and bars for over 20 years. As such I a) am always pleasant to restaurant staff, b) am always patient, even when wait times are long, and c) always tip. In light of all this, these people are consistently rude. Enough is enough, I’ve paid my last visit to Guido’s. I’d say you can avoid the attitude by getting takeout, but they’re rude then as well. Management, get your staff under control. Staff, cheer up — you think restaurant work sucks, wait until you work in a cubicle.

Love this place! Fast, cheap and perfect pizza. Large pizza by the slice pieces and the staff was mega friendly. Looks like they have a good beer and wine selection too. They even had a beer special for $ 1.50! I would definitely be a regular here if I was a local. Yum!

I’m surprised it has taken me this long to write a review. Best pizza in Boise. Hands down. If you like thin NY Style you have found heaven. Ask for a fresh pie if you have a large party otherwise a slice or two awaits! Perfect blend of sauce and cheese. I typically like straight up cheese or pepperoni. Enjoy!!! Service is always pleasant!

«Guido’s offers pizza at NY prices and half the NY size» I began a quest to try out all of the pizza places for the best NY style and of course I had to stop here. As a person who has eaten slices all over NYC I had to know if my fav place NY Giant Pizza in Boise still reigned champ. So how did Guido’s fare against the Giant and Wise Guy’s Pizza? — Price Are we in Manhattan? $ 2.50! The pizza is TWICE the cost as it would be in Brooklyn. $ 1.25 –Size This was a joke as it was HALF the size of an authentic NY slice, I almost cried when the lady fit it on the paper plate. NY pizza does not fit on a paper plate! –Flavor: Does it taste authentic? As pictured you can see the bottom was near burnt in areas. I lifted up the cheese and it was like trying to find Waldo to spot some sauce, cooking 101 could it be because the pizza was over burnt on the bottom it dried up the sauce? WEHAVE A WINNER. I will say the taste of my cheese bread(because it wasn’t pizza) did have a nice crust, the semolina flour offers a great crunch and texture through out the dough. Cleanliness– The lady put my plate on a tray that had someone’s left over topping on it(as pictured) how gross is that? I almost failed them just for that and rightly so. OVERALL– NYGIANT tops Guido’s in every way BUT will Wise Guy pizza top them both? Keep following to find out

A solid pizza joint. I stopped in for a quick slice + salad. The salad was large, I asked for the garlic dressing and I was happy with my choice. I got a slice of veggie pizza and it was big for the price and tasty, but not life-changing. Tapatio, Sriracha, and of course parmesan and chili flakes were available. I was a little turned off by all the flies buzzing around, but it was by no means a dealbreaker. Prices were good, I paid just a bit over $ 6 for my food. I’d come back if I was looking for another cheap and quick dinner.

Here is the reason I gave it 5 stars: I have been to NY more than 6 times and this is NY style pizza. The dough is chewy so you can fold the slice and walk back down the street. Simple toppings you can’t fold a slice and go if its covered in toppings. I took 5 slices home and heated them up there. You can get a hot slice or a pie to go if you want. If you get the cheese pizza slice they will add toppings that you want to it :) Finally a TRUENY pizza place. Oh and another reason this is a NY pizza place(think Seinfeld, soup nazi) «what?! order you pizza, pay and move on» You want warm fuzzy Ya need to go to a different place. Nothing but NY love.

Pizza was good, hot and large! Beer was good as it should be. Seems to be a busy place. Its a great for a date for two. Also any business that donates to veteran events like this one has are a 5 star in my book! I appreciate any businesses who supports and continues to support our veterans who have served our country. I would recommend this place and will keep returning.

Not from Boise and so far best pizza I’ve had since moving here. My favorite was their vegetarian but the Canadian bacon, jalapeño, with olive oil was delicious too! Definitely coming back for another slice of pie soon. On the other hand the lady working with black glasses and braids was extremely rude! I asked to add pineapple to my slice and she seemed upset. Then she proceeded to slam my pizza as if I asked too much. I hope the owner reads these and talks to her! After sitting here for 3 minutes she continue to use foul language and asking customers if they smoked. Please someone address this lady!

My review is not about the food at Guido’s; that is generally good if you like small-shop pizza that is good but not great(Pie Hole is much better, IMHO). This review is about the cleanliness and general quality of the operation. Specifically, I purchased a soda from Guido’s today. The problem wasn’t that they consider a 21 oz soda a «large» or that they charge $ 1.75 for said«large» soda. The problem was that, when I reached the bottom of the allegedly«large» soda, I found a little present. Thankfully, nothing so disgusting as a large bug or a used bandaid – I’d probably be hugging the toilet right now if that were the case. No, I found a single metal nut(the companion to a metal bolt) starring back at me from the bottom of my cup. Not as bad as the bug or bandaid, but still disgusting. I can only guess that this nut once had a home on the crappy little soda machine from whence my carbonated beverage poured. Time will tell if anything comes of this other than my generally revulsion and vow to not ever again patronize Guido’s. Do yourself a favor: avoid this place until they bring their cleanliness standards up to par. It’s one thing to project an exterior and vibe that say«I’m a hip, quirky little dive pizza joint that cares only about the pizza and nothing else!»; it’s another(and much worse) thing to actually be a dive and actually disregard cleanliness and basic maintenance.

Still really fabulous NY style pie. Still great prices. Still solid service(a bit gruff on occasion, perhaps). And, still: wine. And, now? They accept visa! Finally! Get to it!
