We had a few hours to kill before dinner and decided to check out Mouvance in downtown Boise. The woman who helped us with the tasting was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I thought the tasting room was very cozy and had plenty of seating where we could relax and try wine. We tried both their red and white wines. Apparently, they grow their grapes in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, but they make their wines in Boise. While I know the place is known for their Pinot Noirs(which are good – don’t get me wrong), we ABSOLUTELY loved their 2013 Marion Joan Viognier and their 2013 Christine Victoria Sauvignon Blanc. In all honesty, they were probably some of the best whites I’ve tasted in awhile. The fee for the tasting was pretty reasonable(I think around $ 5-$ 7), which gets waived if you buy a bottle of wine. They also have happy hour specials from 4 – 6 on Fridays and Saturdays where you can get a glass of wine for about $ 5. If we’re ever back in the Boise area, we will most certainly return to Mouvance.

This place is fantastic. I was in on Sunday a few weeks ago and did a flight. Bought a bottle of the one that I liked the most. The interesting twist on this place is the wine is made on site but with grapes brought in from the Willamette valley in Oregon. So it combines the great taste of Oregon wines with a locally made product. I highly recommend popping in. I saw they have a Friday and Saturday happy hour from 4 – 6.
