I love this place! My husband and I happened upon it while taking a trip to Boise and I was thrilled that it opened early March. Being that I’ve moved around a lot and have been blessed with the farmers markets of Denver and Southern California, I am really missing fruit stands and the like. This not so little stand was a great find. They had all sorts of fresh and local produce, nuts, trail mix, and the like. Oh, and Mexican soda, coke in glass bottles, and super yum salsa. Born to Be Mild and Angry Bastard both made my nachos, chips, and tacos mui delicioso! Price wise, things were fair. A little more than the super market on some things, less than the Coop or Whole foods on everything. Bulk nuts were expensive considering but then again they were fresh and stored well so they REMAIN fresh. I’m munching on some of their almonds now and these things are like crack. Good for you crack. Perfectly salty and amazing. Combine ample offerings with a friendly staff and easy to access location… and I’m a fan. I’ll totally be back.

The fruit stand has been at this location for many years. This is my favorite place to get good local fruits and veges for a very good price. A few of my favorite things to get are the AJ’s salsa, there are 3 different kinds, «Born to be mild», «3 bitches» and«Angry Bastard», funny names for great salsas. And also their pumpkin seeds are the best I’ve had. This year they just opened March 1st, they switch to selling Christmas trees during the winter month.

I’m new in town and I’m very frustrated at the lack of reviews in Boise. It’s hard to find good stuff if no one will post a review. (By the way, know a good dry cleaners near the North End?) So: the fruit stand on Broadway… It’s very basic, it’s not California, but it’s got really great fruit. I bought some plums, apricots, the best corn of the summer, deliciously tart dried apricots, tomatoes and more. Lots of stuff for $ 16. Felt like it was a very fair price. My only gripe is that the(extremely young) check out guy put my tomatoes in the bottom of the bag. Not cool. Fruit is your job: the tomatoes go on top, dude. I will be going here again. Much better than the supermarket. And it feels like you’re supporting the little guy. Now please, go post something so that I can figure this town out!
