Had a great meatball sandwich here one evening. It was a delight its not easy to find meatballs that arent rubbery, I really hate that! Really cool and laid back here. The staff is chatty and easy to talk to.

Coffee is quite good. Service is good. May be the best scone I’ve ever had. Wish they served real food before 10am.

I would have studied much, much more in college had I lived near a place like Papa’s Cup of Joe. Points of awesomeness: *coffee AND wine available. YESSSSSS. *coffee — delicious. The other reviewers do a better job of explaining the quality/variety of coffees but I know that mine was tasty and perfect. *service. The barista suggested that my drink would be even more perfect when topped off with a sugar/steamed milk combo she created. It is true! *atmosphere. An old(working!) record player, vintage picture frames, ample seating space. *wi-fi.

When Starbucks across the street at Capitol Village closed up, a co-worker suggested we check out the Papa for some morning joe. Once we walked in, we were greeted with the very pretty barista named Sarah who actually took the time to explain the different types of coffee they offered. It might as well have been a cool promo for a coffee program on an NPR station since her explanations were bumped with some great oldies music lightly playing in the background. Especially when we about to bust our backs on some insane irrigation project in the summer heat, it sure was nice to know that we can start our day with some joe and a welcoming atmosphere.

We needed a large amount of coffee for a meeting in a hurry and after being rebuffed by a large chain coffee store we came into Joe’s. What a pleasure. Not only did they grind fresh beans for us, they us borrow hot pots to serve it in without even asking our name. The coffee was delicious and as I’m writing this I’m back, enjoying a fabulous latte and waiting to try a breakfast pizza!

This great coffee shop on S Capitol Blvd, across the street from the college and the college bookstore, has great staff and great charm! It’s a hybrid of a coffee shop that mixes the best of Seattle, San Francisco, and New York City into one delightfully charming location. The baristas here are so laid back, it’s fantastic! When I was there, one of the baristas had just put out an old LP player he bought at a sale. He was playing some classic Simon and Garfunkel and he allowed the customers to put on whatever records they wanted to hear. That’s part of the charm of Papa’s Cup of Joe. This is definitely a place to hang and enjoy a quiet Saturday morning with vintage records and a great cup of joe!
