This place most definitely reminded me of when I was a kid. I feel like this is the true definition of a candy shop. When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was the willy wonka theme song and the willy wonka movie playing at the very same time. The atmosphere of this place Makes you really feel like you are Charlie and you just won a golden ticket. The assortment of candy this place carries is unbelievable. I feel like they practically carried all the candy I grew up with. If you have a sweet tooth, or just want to reminisce about your child hood, I recommend this place.

Closest you’ll ever get to being in willy wonka’s chocolate factory. Head to toe candy everywhere and lots you’ve never heard of before. Selection is above and beyond. This place is way better than goodys candy shop in Hyde park. Way better. All they really need now are the umpa loompas and give’em 6 stars.

After lunch we stopped off at this neat little candy shop. They have pretty much everything you would want or need, with the exception of an import selection. I reckon that would be a bit too cost prohibitive for the average Idahonian. I bought a scoop of their Tiramisu Gelato and it was really good. My GF bought some gummy rings or whatever they’re called. If you have a sweet tooth then hit these guys up. They’re right across the street from the Flatbread place I previously reviewed.

cool little candy and ice cream shop in bown crossing. I had a really fun time going through the store and looking at all the vintage candy and toys. Definitely a place to bring the family and revel in the nostalgia. They even had the original willy wonka playing on the tv in the store.

I love this place! The only downside is that there is only one location, and it’s pretty far out on the edge of town. I would give it 5 stars if it were more centrally located. I really wish they would get a little place in the mall. The first time I came in I was looking for Flying Saucers, but the closest thing they have are Satellites, which are similar but nasty. I bought some thinking they were the same thing only to find they had hard Nerd-like candies inside in stead of foaming powder! The next time I went, the employees were great trying to help me find another substitute, but to no avail. Lots of their candy bars and stuff can be found elsewhere(for way less), but their bulk candy wall is just awesome! Any kind of candy you can think of is on that wall!

Powells is one of our favorite places to take family and friends who are visiting from out of town. Their gelato is delicious and you can find nearly every candy under the sun. It’s fun to take a walk down memory lane while browsing through candy I used to enjoy as a child. One of my personal favorites is the candy cigarettes… I’ve never been a smoker but I loved pretending as a kid haha. My mom is a HUGE fan of Willy Wonka and every time she visits we have to get a gelato and sit in the candy shop watching parts of the movie. It’s really a great stop for all ages :)

So sad. I went in and bought a few old fashioned candy bars. They were old and dried out. The chocolate had been melted and the insides were dried out and did not taste very good.

This is a fun store you can find all the stuff you haven’t seen since you were a kid. Very dangerous place, however, as soon as your hands get full of all the items you wish to purchase there is the dreaded candy bucket to put it all in and more. Luckily, I got out of there for about $ 35 but yeah it’s all very tempting. I had not seen a store like this but upon further research. It started in California and they just opened one on Wall St., in Bend, so that means more danger for me as I“m in Bend once in a while. All in all a fun time selecting items. Check it out. If you dare…

Fun store to visit. They have all the candy you could imagine, even vintage. Can be a bit pricey.

Best candy shop I’ve ever been in. Not pricey, and has everything you can think of. This has become kind of a special place for me and my girl.

This is a very unique candy shop where you can find all those favorite sweets from long ago that are just not normally available. My only complaint about this store is that it tends to be pricey, but I guess it’s ok if you want to treat yourself once in awhile!

This place is so much fun for every age group in your family. I’m thirty-something and had a blast! My folks even love this place. The only thing that would make this place out of this world amazing is if they had a real ice cream soda fountain instead of gelato.

It goes without saying that Powell’s is a great place to buy candy. It’s also a great place to locate candy you have only heard about from people twice your age or haven’t seen since you, yourself, were a kid. However, I find this to be the unsung place to find unusual, fun and crazy gifts for those hard-to-buy-for people in your life. Clever coffee mugs, retro lunch boxes, old fashioned toys and even some really cool,(not for kids), items that brim with inuendo and sarcasm! There is truly something for everyone here.

I had no idea a place like this existed until my good friend took me out to lunch and we happened to stumble into Powells. I had a huge sweet tooth so I’ve been in a lot of candy stores. But I have never seen such an extravagant candy store like Powells until now. Not only was this store eye-gasmic but I really did feel like a «kid in a candy store». The owner/workers were extremely friendly and so helpful. There were candies that I’ve never even heard of before. There were even some that brought me back to my childhood. I highly recommend going here whenever you are visiting Boise.

I am in love with this place! Candy everywhere, Willy Wonka on a loop, fantastic gelato, and a case full of tasty beverages you won’t find anywhere else. Plus, all of the people that work there are ridiculously nice and sometimes there’s a little kid that just walks around passing out free candy samples. Make sure to pop into this place around the holidays-they decorate the entire place and fill it(even more) full of tasty treats.

Powells is like walking into the candy shop in «Charlie & the Chocolate Factory»! The movie was even playing in the back! On the hunt for candy buttons, I knew this place would have it. I have driven past it for two years, but my kids new it well. I was delighted… I found my old favorites(Zots!) and got to have an original recipe Dr. Pepper FROMTHEBOTTLE! Brought back memories, I tell ya. At any rate… beautiful candy shop, lovely service… and best of all, candy buttons! Our Valentine cards were destined to be completed. Thank you, Powells!
