I have had amazing service from the Doctors at St. Luke’s. The billing department is a completely different story. They failed to utilize the correct billing code when billing my insurance. At this time I have called St. Luke’s billing department 5 times over 7 months. Every time I speak with a representative they assure me they have«fixed the problem» and that it will be billed correctly to my insurance. I have asked them the approximate time it usually takes to submit a claim. They informed me that generally it takes 6 weeks to submit a claim, however they have seen it take over 7 months! Please keep this in mind when utilizing St. Luke’s and make sure you keep a close eye on your statement, and be prepared for the heartburn it will take to correct your statement!

In my original review, I wrote that I notified St Luke’s of my address change multiple times. Despite telling them my new address each time I called(it is part of their security question to verify identity!), when they finally refunded my overpayment, guess what? THEYSENTMYREFUNDTOTHEWRONGADDRESS. Do I really have to report an address change 8 – 10 times for them to get it correct? I would never go here for surgery. I would be scared they would operate on the wrong body part. If I could give the patient billing department 0 stars out of 5, I would.

I recently had surgery performed at St. Lukes and could not be happier. I was in the oncology part of the hospital, so maybe that’s why they’re especially nice, thoughtful, compassionate, and helpful. My doctor, Dr. Perez, and his staff have also been wonderful. There are no stupid questions, which I appreciate, because I have had a lot of them. The other poster had issues with billing, which I have not thus far(knock on wood). I’ve been a patient at St. Al’s and St. Luke’s. I would go back to St. Luke’s in a heartbeat.
