Kayla was awesome! As other reviews said about the stylists there, she took her time to really understand what I wanted. She was efficient but patient with her pace in cutting my hair to make sure she was getting it right and that I agreed with the direction of the cut. I am on vacation and had to run in without her knowing my hair – best haircut I’ve had in a long time! I was shocked at how reasonably priced it was because it feels like a really expensive, high-​end cut. Go here – you won’t be disappointed!

I decided it was time to say good-​bye to my bob and hello to short hair. I called Whimsy because I liked the name and because of other positive reviews. I learned that Kayla was skilled in short cuts. In no time at all I had the cutest, sassiest hair! She also was very helpful in recommending the best products for my new style.
The salon is so cute and cozy. It feels more like you are hanging out with friends than simply salon services.

I just moved to the area and have been long overdue to get my hair cut and colored. I called and scheduled an appointment with Kayla and can’t express enough how pleased I was with my experience. I have always had long hair and wanted something simple and low maintenance. We went with an A-​line bob and it looks great. I can wash and go or style as I choose. She was very friendly, knowledgeable, and didn’t rush. I later went back for color and highlights and it turned out great; very natural and flattering. I will definitely go back.

ah I have fallen in love with Whimsy! Got my hair done with Amanda today and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I have been to Other salons where the experience seemed quick and rushed. Amanda truly cares about her clients needs in hair, as well as doing her best work! She knew exactly what would look good for my type of hair and face shape. It turned out great and I couldn’t be happier. Did I mention the price is fantastic? Too good to keep a secret.

I was searching for a salon to do an «up-​do» for my hair for a wedding we were attending in Boise recently. I chose Whimsy due to the reviews on Unilocal.It was as good as the reviews! Natasha spent over an hour making sure my hair was just the way I wanted it. The salon is friendly, quaint and has easy parking. I highly recommend it and was so happily surprised being from out-​of-​state and not knowing who to choose. If I ever have another event to attend in Boise, I will absolutely go back to Natasha at Whimsy A Salon!

I love Whimsy! The atmosphere is fun and friendly. More importantly I love Amanda. She’s been doing my hair for 11 years and always gives me exactly what I want.

I recently found myself really wanting to go back to my short hair — and finally (professionally) get all of the red dye out!
I used to live near Whimsy, and looked them up on Unilocal after driving by a few times. I was really impressed to find that they had 5 stars — something that seems difficult when you’re working with a person’s hair. After looking over their price list, I was further impressed. Great service at a reasonable price — could it be true?
Being from a small town, I love the atmosphere in Whimsy. It’s a very «neighborhood» type salon, where folks come and go and everyone knows your name. The salon was clean, but nothing too fancy. Again, I was totally okay with this because it’s what I’m used to.
Despite that they welcome walk-​ins, I made my appointment a few days in advance, just in case. I arrived about 10 minutes early and Amanda was ready and waiting for me. She was welcoming and very friendly.
We assessed my hair together and decided on a plan of attack. I wanted to take 7 or 8 inches off and dye it back to my natural (dirty) blonde — and Amanda sold me on adding in a few highlights for some added pop.
She was friendly through the whole process, chatting with me about my life and my hair :) It took about an hour and a half, start to finish, and I am so happy with the results — especially with the highlights! Amanda did an amazing job matching the dye to the color in my roots, and the highlights were perfect. And she cut the length to exactly what I was picturing!
I will definitely be back to Amanda for my next cut! I highly recommend her :)

What an amazing place. It’s not your traditional salon setting. They have set up in an old North End home and made it feel like a home and it is so adorable. I went in to have my first ever ombré and Bless did an amazing job! She took her time and I could feel the passion she had for making my experience and my hair fabulous.

Bless is amazing! She’s been cutting my hair for just over a year and every time it turns out perfectly. She is so sweet and always talks to me about what she’s doing with my hair and why.

Both of my visits to Whimsy have been amazing. Amanda is great! She knows what colors and cuts work great for me, and won’t color or cut my hair in a way that is not complimenting. She also gives me tips and advice on how to style and maintain my hair. She genuinely cares about her clients, and even uses higher quality products, which don’t contain bleach, so her clients have healthier hair in the long run. I am hooked, I will continuously go to Amanda for my haircuts, because I trust her judgement and skill.

Bless Edwards is amazing! She is not only the nicest person you will ever have do your hair, but she is great at her job. She knows how to work with long hair (which is a gift all on it’s own), she chooses great product that is best for the hair. She is delightful! She is a rare find! She is holistic in her approach and I appreciate that very much. You will feel «Blessed» when she’s done with you! :-)

Ive had the same hair cut for the last 10 years so when i needed to get trimmed up it was never a big deal. But recently i wanted to change things up, add some color and go a little bit shorter. Sharron did such a wonderful job of doing exactly what i wanted and my hair turned out even better then what i expected. Cant wait to come back again.

You can’t find a better stylist in East Boise (near St Luke’s) than Sharon. She knows her business. I love the hair cut and she has got the color just right. I have curly hair which is difficult to cut but Sharon’s hair cuts are the best I have ever had. You can’t beat the location. Parking is free (and right in front). Easy going friendly location. Excellent value too. Try Whimsy… you will soon be a fan.

I found Whimsy after I ran a google search for «curly girl» which was a concept I learned about only yesterday. The reviews left by customers for Whimsy were, without exception, totally fabulous and I found myself wondering how anything could be that good… so here is the «rest of the story». I called the shop number and spoke with a young lady who was super gracious, and gave me the number of the shop owner since she herself was not going to be there on Tuesday. I called Sharon (the owner) and after speaking just a few minutes I knew I was on the right track. Sharon cut my hair today and it was the most fun I have ever had while getting my hair cut. Not only that, she experimented on my hair for me and even though my hair is curly she used a straightener mostly to show me what else I could do with my new «do». After getting compliments galore from my friends at the Boise Coop I came home and washed my hair to see what it would do on its own. Without any exaggeration, Sharon gave me what is without a doubt the best hair cut I have ever had. I cannot stop myself from preening when I look in a mirror now, much like that male swan at the Sun Valley Lodge — I don’t know if he is still there or not, but he definitely loves the mirror they put out there for him :)
Sharon’s shop is a very special place. All those other reviews? They were completely on target! Thank you Sharon!
And I might add, I have paid three times what Sharon charges in the past, and those haircuts still don’t hold a candle… it doesn’t get any better than that in my opinion.

Today was my 1^st visit. Like Jennifer C says: it was «cozy and low key.» I loved it! I have brown hair which I highlight blonde and Amanda used a product to highlight without bleach. My hair feels and looks amazing, I can’t wait to return! (My next visit is with my 18month old son, his 1^st cut.)

I love this salon and have been a client for years! Sharon is fabulous with curly hair and has killer product for the curls. Every stylist there is friendly and it feels like a neighborhood gathering, not a cookie cutter quickie salon. Prices are very reasonable.
