This museum is not actually in Bokeelia. It’s on the private Island of Useppa and merely uses Bokeelia as a mailing address. The actual name is the Barbara Sumwalt Museum and it houses the Useppa Island Historical Society. Considering how small the island is and how small the museum is, it is really remarkably well done. For a $ 5 «voluntary contribution,» you are admitted and provided with a recorded oral walking tour of the place. It only takes about ½ hour and is excellent. You don’t have to be a history buff to enjoy this place.
