In the middle of a God awful city — Bolingbrook — you can come across a surprisingly nice 7-Eleven. Nice staff, clean, cheap gas, etc. If you’re like me, you know what the surrounding businesses are like — horrible!!! Go to the speedway down the street and you quickly realize why this 7-Eleven deserves 5 stars. It may not be perfect but in a city full of garbage it is a shining star — actually a shining 5 stars.

Several negative points. 1) They do not honor coupons from their own 7 – 11 app. 2) Many times they won’t honor promotions listed by 7 – 11. If they do, they make sure not to have enough product on hand so that they will run out of item extremely quick. I.E. On free slurpee day, since they didn’t have enough cups, your time to redeem the promotional item was extremely limited. 3)The bathrooms are in horrible condition. 4) They have a sign that reads ‘Only 2 kids in the store at a time.’ Though I am certainly not a kid, what kind of message does that send?

GREATCONVENIENCESTORE! MYHUSBANDAND I COMEHERE A FEWTIMES A WEEKFORGASANDMONSTERENERGYDRINKS(ORCOFFEEIF I AMSUPERDEAD-A$% TIRED). Here’s what I like about 7-Eleven: 1.) I lived in Bolingbrook from 2000 until 2007, and have recently moved back. I like that it seems like it’s family owned, so it’s not all impersonal; the staff gets to know you on a facial recognition level. 2.) Their gas prices are competitive with other local gas stations. 3.) They always have their items stocked and faced. 4.) Seems like they are up to date on sales(Monsters are sometimes 2/$ 4.00). 5.) They check ID for tobacco items. 6.) Bolingbrook Police frequent the store, so it just feels safe(even for a woman at night). 7.) They have an ATM. 8.) Their parking lot is kept clean, as is their store. 9.) Friendly staff!!! 10.) Fresh food — and their Slurpie machine is always working! 11.) There’s a car wash in the neighboring parking lot. Here’s what I don’t like about 7-Eleven: 1.) One door gets blocked and it sometimes causes a «traffic jam» with customers going in and out. Sometimes other patrons give snotty looks because they’re in a hurry and there’s only one operational door. I mean, I understand why it’s like that, but it’s somewhat annoying. Speedway keeps their doors open. 2.) It’s right across the street from Bolingbrook High School — so going there around 7am and around 2:15 — 2:45pm is quite hectic. 3.) Trojan condoms have a $ 1 markup compared to Meijer. Boo.
