LA Tan

I’ve been to a handful of other LA tan locations, and I’ve never had a particularly good or bad experience, however this location specifically deserves 5 stars. I was greeted very politely and the space itself was very clean. I definitely liked that I wasn’t pushed into upgrading or buying any additional packages. But what really stuck out to me was what happened after I had left. I left two silver rings in the room I had used on accident, both of very heavy sentimental value. Typically in situations like this, I would expect to hear that they are not liable for lost/​stolen items, or just that they hadn’t found anything. As soon as I called the next day they immediately knew who I was and assured me they had both rings set aside for me to come pick up. I’ll keep coming to this location just for that alone.

I used to enjoy tanning here. This is a smaller location than most. But the fact that some man was caught spying at the woman while tanning here. Doesn’t make me feel at ease.

Currently eating my words… but I’m doing it from under a palm tree, on the beach, in a teeny bikini, in the Dominican Republic– so they don’t taste too terribly bad.
It’s been YEARS since I’ve been in a tanning bed. Spray tan booths and privately sprayed tanning– yes! UV– no. I think I may even have dogged famous UV super soakers like the cast of Jersey Shore a bit in previous reviews… and here I am, reviewing a place that got me all nice and country fried during the course of three 10 minute increment sessions.
I should have eased into the tanning level as suggested by staff, but it was one week till I went the DR and my flesh was shear, laced with blue veins, and needed more than a bit of bronzer before it made an appearance at the beach. I went with the level three… dun, dun, dun… and I’m still shocked my nipples didn’t melt off my body. These cats aren’t f*cking around.
After three 10 minute sessions– two at a level 3 and one at a level 2, I’m moderately tanned, only mildly burnt (Ow– my bum+bubs!), and effectively primed for the salty sea breeze. Sure, at one point after the second level 3 booth I did wake up next to what appeared to be the shedded skin of some sort of serpent, then quickly realized it was just my own flaky leprosy shell… but NBD. I’m here, I’m no longer look clear, and I’m ready to take this beach by storm!

Maybe it’s because I’m used to Los Angeles tanning places but this place is just okay. The room was large and clean but the bed seemed older and the fan wasn’t attached to the bed. And the room was a little cold and had no mirror.
I paid just over $ 8 for a tan in a level 1 bed and a pair of disposable eyewear. The good thing about this place is that they have lots of tanning specials, like Monday is $ 10 spray tan day, Tuesday is $ 5 tan day… and all sorts of other specials.

I tan before vaca… don’t hate me! This LA Tan is one of my favorites I’ve been to. They have the nicest employees and it’s very clean. The beds are in top working order and they have great deals. They also have the mystic for non-​UV tanners.
Try the Hydration station. Your skin feels great after going into this space ship-​like contraption.

Very very friendly girls (and I think I saw a guy once) at the desk, clean machines, clean rooms, just as expensive/​cheap (however you wanna look at it) as any other tanning salon. They have a good variety of bed levels and types. Go there a lot in the winter time. Also they have a lot of deals where if you buy 100 you get 150 free or something of that nature. Kind of expensive for lotions, but its just as bad at any tanning place, so it’s just the products, not the location.
