Entering this location I thought I was there alone. I immediately started thinking that I should call the police because someone may have the employees in the back at gunpoint. I was literally in the store about 10 minutes before I saw Mia to whom I immediately greeted and she didn’t greet me back. So, I decided to ask her for help and she was able to assist me somewhat. I couldn’t find everything that I needed at this location so I went to another location that was on the way to my house.

Unfortunately I have become a HUGE Pier 1 junkie since my husband and I bought a home. And I say«unfortunately» because you can easily spend $ 200 here on very little merchandise. But I think it is safe to assume now that anyone over the age of 25 knows this going in. That being said I absolutely love the décor. Great quality and such beautiful pieces that you do not see in other stores. I opted to get the rewards card as I’m frequently here however I really wish the rewards we received didnt expire as soon as they did. I also have a bad habit of buying something, and then a month later it goes on sale… UGH! Never fails. As far as customer service goes at this location I havent had a bad experience yet. Sometimes Im trying to get in and out and the checkout process seems to take a little long. All I need to do is pay my bill but the cashier is chatting up the current patron they’re checking out a little too much. But otherwise they’re always there to greet me and find out if I am there for anything specific. Will continue to frequent here.

This review is not on the merchandise at Pier 1. I absolutely love their stuff. It is the one place my husband and I can walk into and agree on several items at once to decorate our house with. In fact, I currently own 4 large paintings from here, a kitchen table, and lots of holiday decorations. Merchandise alone, this place is a 5! My issue is the customer service at this particular location. Not all of the employees at this location are like this(yesterday in fact, we had someone great but we almost drove the extra distance to another location to avoid the chance of getting someone bad). Usually when we go in, we are hounded over and over to get a credit card. In fact, sometimes when we walk up and see a particular employee we discuss leaving because it makes our shopping experience so unpleasant. I hate to bash a business, especially one I love, but I was hoping this message would be seen by management. I understand that you are encouraging your employees to get people to sign up for credit cards. I understand that since we are frequent shoppers, we could really benefit from getting one. However, when a customer says no, please urge your employees to listen to that. Being harrassed constantly through your shopping experience is not fun, Especially when they recognize you and know we have said no repeatedly in the past.

As far as products go, any Pier 1 is fine. As far as basic customer service goes, this Pier 1 could benefit from improvements. The employees seemed rude in general, were openly discussing their shifts and wanting to leave, and other things that shoppers don’t really need to hear. When I(very politely) asked if they had carts(which I’ve seen at the Pier 1 in La Grange), the sales associate almost laughed at the question… as if I was from another planet. When I made a purchase of multiple coffee mugs, the sales associate wrapped them all together — but didn’t put anything between the mugs… which caused them to clink together with every move. I questioned her wrapping method(of course… because of the risk of breakage/scratching/etc.) and she rudely indicated she ‘could’ take it all out an re-wrap them. I told her not to bother… clearly the employees are either unhappy or snooty and think they are above appropriately packaging the merchandise. I would never go back to this location. In an area like this where there are a million other options for housewares, why would I choose to receive crappy service?

If I had a million dollars, I would blow it mostly in this store. But since I don’t have a huge wad of cash readily available, I can just dream now, can’t I? I absolutely love this store! They have a huge selection of the most beautiful stemware, glassware, kitchen, bedroom and home accents and furniture. I went here last night to start my bridal registry. The store is kind of big, and there was only one sales associate on the floor, so it did take some time before someone was able to get us started. The woman who did help us was really nice and friendly. They don’t have one of the automatic scanner thingies, so you had to write down the sku numbers of everything, and then they can punch all of them in at the store or you can access the website from home and do it yourself(I chose that option, since punching all the stuff in and trying to help other customers would be a little tricky for the poor lady working.) Let’s just say, I had a field day in this store.
