I’m no longer a virgin of higher end sunglasses. After having a string of bad luck with cheapo’s(see my last review on Express), I decided to women up and just get a nice pair of sunglasses. I wear them a lot so I figured I would definitely get my monies worth. I had my eyes on Ray Bans from the get-go because I really liked the Aviator style and Ray Bans seemed to be the god of the style. The minute I walked in the saleswoman immediately greeted me and started asking me a few questions to narrow down my search. She never felt pushy and I must say she really knew her info! Plunking down the $$ you pay for some of these sunglasses it feels good to not walk in there and have some young person with hardly any knowledge of the product. I tried on a few other brands but did end up getting the Ray Bans. I even got a $ 50 coupon to use for another pair which is a win for me. I so wish I could remember the sales woman name so as to give her praise. Next time I go in I’ll be sure to add her name to my review.

Been shopping around for some bitchin’ aviators and finally settled on a pair of Ray-Bans from this location. MIB, respect. When I first arrived at this location there was a guy standing outside, watching nervously as I approached the entrance and reached for the door. He halted me and said that I couldn’t go in and I was all like, ‘Oh hell no. You ain’t no troll and this ain’t yo bridge. I’ll cross whenever I damn well please.’, while waving my finger back and forth and sh*t. And then he continued on to apologize and explain that it’s mall policy and that a kid had pulled the fire alarm at Gymboree so now everyone on that block of the mall has to wait outside until the alarms stopped and the fire department gave their okay. Stupid kids. So I left and went to another store until the flashing emergency lights stopped going off. When I came back the same(not troll) guy was inside, turns out he works there. He welcomed me back despite my initial attitude and offered to help me find what I was looking for. I chatted with him a little and then when on to trying on several different pairs of aviators to make sure I’d made the right decision. In the end, I went with a different pair than I had planned on getting(brown fade, gold-rimmed) and the kid was really nice and helpful… though it was a little odd that he stood right behind me the whole time I tried on glasses, especially since I hate shopping with other people and can’t stand other people’s opinions on sh*t that’s for me. But like I said, this kid was nice and he did mention that he was still pretty new. When I checked out I thought it was weird that I’d gotten the sample pair from the rack. You mean I don’t get a fresh pair from the back? I don’t really want the pair everyone’s touched and tried on. I want the virgin ones, dammit! My experience overall was a positive one and I enjoyed the exchange we had when I inquired about ‘Asian fit’ glasses, something I’d been mildly fascinated with since I my friend Joe educated me on the typical head size of certain Asian ethnicities, relating to my abnormally-large-for-a-girl’s head. PS– the store smelled like funk. Maybe mildew or a leaky air conditioner or sumfin. Quick tip: Being a mouth-breather is a win here.
