While I think their food is decent, the service is terrible. This is the second occasion I called ahead, showed up, and waited. I called in a order for 2 tacos at 12:56pm, paid at 1:05, waited till 1:27 and someone asks if I had a order i was waiting for. They bring my tacos out and say sorry we didnt know you were here!!! Hello, I paid at 1:05! This has happened in the past and will prolly be my last chance I will give this location.

Complimentary chips and salsa are great, just easy for me to plow through. The lunch combo is great and comes out fast. Watch the 12 – 1 rush, it can be tight in there. Service is top notch, low turnover. Outside seating too.

I was encouraged by the good reviews but then substantially let down. I had the enchiladas platter for $ 9.99. They were served extremely dry with almost no sauce. The chicken enchilada had cubed chicken instead of shredded. The pork enchilada had tiny pieces of burnt pork ends. The cheese enchilada was fine because – well, what can you do wrong with melted cheese? This was seriously the worst enchiladas dish I’ve had in my life and I’ve had many all over the U.S. and Mexico.

Moved to the area a little over a year ago and my husband and I have been trying to find the best of everything. This is probably my favorite taco place. I always like to order my tacos with a crispy hard shell and some places don’t do that. Great steak tacos without yucky fatty pieces of meat that some other places use. My husband had a burrito and was equally satisfied. Great horchata that’s not soo sweet. You can dine in or call in, walk in and carry out.

Excellent food! But definitely cost more than other comparable taco restaurants around town. I used to go all the time but would find myself spending more than expected for tacos. Other than price, we love the food.

It’s way overpriced go to Johnny’s tacos up the street. they got burrito same size except they call it small and half the price of «super burrito» at taco diner.

I gave this place two chances and the food here is mediocre at best. My first experience here was nerve wracking… I called to order food to go and they said it would be ready in 25 minutes. When I arrived they said it would be 10 more minutes… 45 minutes later(after I saw handfuls of people order and get their food within that duration) my order was finally ready. It shouldn’t take that long to make two enchilada dinners… Also, the prices are set too high for the menu options at this hole in the wall restaurant. Being from Texas, my expectations are probably set at different standard when it comes to Mexican cuisine.

First time here was in the area and decided to stop they have really good burritos and offer chips like every Mexican place. They gave us three different sauces we didn’t have to ask for which were surprisingly good and the prices weren’t that bad either recommended if you’re in the Bolingbrook area.

I was hesitant on going to a place called Taco Diner because I thought it was going to be American«Mexican» food. The kind of place that puts cheddar cheese on their tacos but thank god this restaurant isn’t like that. I ordered a regular burrito suizo and holy crap, it was huge. I can eat large portions at a time and I had this burrito for dinner and lunch the next day. To top it off it was only $ 7. I also tasted their Cuban torta which was amazing as well. Torta + burrito + pop was $ 18 including free chips and salsa while dining in. The girl at the counter was super patient and nice too. Will definitely be back.

This place has really really good Mexican food, it is small tho and around lunch time be prepared to wait, or possibly have to take your food with you. The service was good and I enjoyed the chips and salsa before our food came out can’t go wrong here

This was my first time at this restaurant and I will DEFINITELY be going back. Great food, very reasonable prices, easy to read menu, and great customer service. I tried the steak chimichanga, and the flavor of the steak was AMAZING. Very authentic flavors and cooked wonderfully. I have absolutely no complaints about this place, and I’m excited to return. I’m so glad someone told me about this place, now I’m telling you… GOTRYIT!

very good food. service is pretty fast and they give you complimentary chips and salsa(their salsa is amazing) waitresses are very nice and i’ve never had a problem with service or anything. Kind of wish they were open later on weekends cause I love getting tacos and burritos late at night with friends but I know that’s more of a location issue than anything else. If you’re not squeamish I recommend the lengua(beef tongue) tacos with onions and cilantro it’s what i get almost every time now

OK, after having several bad experiences a couple of years ago, we’d given up this place. But I was craving their Suizo Burrito last year, we’ve been enjoying Taco Diner once again! We carry out from here every other month for dinner. It is good again! The Suizo Burrito is our favorite.

What an utter disappointment. We had 3 in our party. Four other families and multiple to-go orders came in after us. They all received their meals and finished eating before our dinners ever came out. Employees had a pissy attitude to top it off. He tried to say it takes a little longer for what we ordered… and seemed stunned we never received our food, way to make an impression. The horchata was terrible! They obviously focus on getting the easy orders out… but how much longer does it take to make a chimichanga and fajitas? No apology… nothing. We finally walked up after 30+ minutes and demanded a refund. You lost a $ 40 sale and us as a customer… at all 3 of your locations.

Just okay folks, nothing special. Well maybe not even okay. Who in the world calls boring chicken with lettuce and salsa in a flour tortilla a burrito? No rice, no beans, no flavor. Other entrees tried by party also very boring. Nice staff and good chips, but we won’t be back.

This place is shockingly good. I got the carne asada and it was the finest piece of skirt steak I’ve ever had anywhere. I hope the new location coming to Romeoville can match the quality.

Holy guacamole! You might want to make the assumption that Taco Diner is just another Mexican joint in just another suburban strip mall. Bzzt! Wrong! This place was packed with customers on a Friday evening. Some stayed to dine in, others were taking it to go. I ordered horchata to drink. It was pretty good. The free refills are even better! Get the guacamole! It’s made fresh and although«chunky» isn’t the most appealing word, that’s exactly what it is. The guacamole isn’t that paste-like junk you get at the grocery store. Taco Diner’s guacamole has big, fresh chunks of avocado, tomato, and onion. And yes, a little bit of cilantro, but it’s not overpowering at all. The chips and salsa are good too. The Chiles Rellenos are really good. They are perfectly battered and fried, and then stuffed with good Monterey Jack cheese. Taco Diner also does chile relleno tacos if that’s your bag. Entrees are served with beans(refried only, no black beans) and rice. I opted for double rice(eeek! no me gusta refried beans). Our meal was ridiculously inexpensive for all of the food we ordered. Taco Diner may rival my other local favorite, Burrito Parilla, for when I’m craving something a bit more authentic.
