Shepards Bar-B-Que

Wonderful food, great service and good atmosphere. Definitely my favorite restaurant to eat BBQ. We had pulled pork, brisket, sausage and then fried pickles, mashed potatoes and peach cobbler for dessert. All delicious!

They were horrible under the old name and owner and now they are average under the new name and owner.

Outstanding BBQ! The staff was very nice and the atmosphere was very relaxing.
We had the brisket and chicken which had a great smokey flavor. The bread pudding was fantastic! This place will definitely be a regular for my family.

I tried the ribs and the sliced brisket and let me say the brisket was tender and juicy with the right amount of fat! Easily 5 stars! The ribs are good but I wished I had ordered a double order of brisket… a rarity for me because I love good BBQ ribs! The green beans had bacon but lacked flavor and the potato salad was like a mashed potato salad and it was other worldly!
Service was good and friendly.

The food was outstanding! The ribs, brisket and pulled pork were wonderful. Very friendly owner and staff. Prices were great, too.

It was ok– I got the chopped brisket sandwich– wife got the pulled pork– not much smoke flavor to either — fries were pretty salty– cowboy beans were good — not a big serving– Mac and cheese was good– nice atmosphere– service was ok

Great atmosphere, great food. BBQ is phenomenal, as well as the sides. A little pricy for the Bonham-​area, but well worth the cost if you’re looking for high-​quality BBQ not matched by any other restaurant around.
The staff are still figuring things out, so service isn’t as fast as it could be, but I think it’ll end up shining as the premier BBQ place in town.

Came today for lunch and decided to try the ribs. Staff was friendly but in no rush. Food was ok but the ribs weren’t hot and I thought they were dry. Cowboys beans were superior! I thought it was expensive! Over $ 18 for a meat (even ribs) with 2 sides and a small drink. Also, for future reference… music selection was classic rock which I really enjoy but it was too loud. I couldn’t decide if this place was trying to be a sports bar/​club/​hangout or what. But the music that loud will drive away the older crowd especially during lunch.

Alright people. If you enjoy BBQ, you haven’t tasted anything yet.
I’m visiting from southern CA, where we have a million restaurants, and plenty of good BBQ places amidst them. While visiting Bonham, I’ve tried all sorts of different TX style BBQ and it’s all been good. But Shepards Bar-​B-​Que is by far the best.
I ordered their pulled pork which was enriched with a smokey flavor and the most tender I’ve ever had. My two sides of choice were the bacon green beans and cowboy beans. I didn’t know green beans could taste so fresh. And the cowboy means are a must to try– I believe they were loaded with tomato chunks, jalapeño and meat. Amazing.
The place has a positive vibe, walking in they had some Guns N Roses playing and I thought the volume was appropriate, even sitting under one of the few speakers. (You know what they say, if it’s too loud, you’re too old: P) The interior was spotless, and the staff was warm and friendly.
Couldn’t have asked for a better experience; If I’m ever craving BBQ in TX again, this is the only place getting my business.

Once they get this business fully up and running It’s going to be a local hot spot! Be warned if you go now you will be waiting in line and watching the staff unsure of what to do there is a sign on the door with this Warning!
The BBQ was wonderful we got the ribs and sausage, potato salad, green beans and corn all was tasty. My biggest issue were the flys over the food counter holy gross me the hell out luckily none landed on the food or I would have walked out. Hopefully as they grow these things will be corrected and by my next visit? Came for a second visit and the flys were gone! Yippie 5 stars all the way
