I’m an internet only customer. Worst service of any service provider I have ever had. Unfortunately, I have few options. Either overpay for a much slower service through the local phone company(Skyline) or overpay even more for satellite service with data limits. I have had Charter for 7 years and I would estimate I’ve had about 15– 20 service calls. Every time I call for service, all they try to do is sell me more services or sell me a new modem. I’m on my 3rd or 4th modem and every time I buy the one they suggest and then a year later they say«we no longer support that device, you need to upgrade.» A few months ago the service technician said the line running into my house was old and needed to be replaced. He blamed previous technicians for not replacing it. Then, last week another technician came out and found the line that had been installed was too short causing a poor connection when the wind blows. It was literally held together with a shoestring(he took me out and showed it to me but took it loose before I could get a picture). He blamed the previous technician for a faulty install. Everything seemed to work great and he promised to follow up within a week to make sure the problem was solved. It worked great… for two days. Now the same problem is back. A week and a half later and he never called back to follow up. I have to take time off work every time they schedule a service call. Each technician blames the problem on previous technicians(which I at least believe the guy who showed me a shoestring used for an installation device). If you have any other options, stay as far away from Charter service as possible.
