I’ve put a lot of thought into this review… I want to be fair yet honest. We purchased a groupon which was a nice discount compared to the original prices of services at the spa. Even so I regret to say we did not recieve the quality I had hoped we would get. The spa facility is not only dirty… it actually made me feel unsanitary. Ex… steam room was broken. Sauna was slow to working and needed major updates… pool had bugs floating in it and all of the couches and lounge chairs were stained. The spa services were explained in a way that any attention to detail would not only be additional charges but also would also be inconvenient. For ex… I had a Swedish massage … when filling out the questionnaire I gave detailed information regarding areas of focus and concern and when meeting w the therapist. I was informed THIS was a Swedish massage and should have asked for a deep tissue… I explained I wanted indeed relax however these particular areas I wanted focus on. Therapist complied but reminded me several times during the massage that this was not a therapeutic treatment and I personally felt as if our visiting that day… especially w a groupon was .a burden to them. The therapists were kind but seemed to be stressed or burdened in some kind of way and left us feeling like we really should have spent the day doing something else. Im not positive on whether the overall morale was based on an operational issue or something else. Either which way .the scenery around the facility is pleasant it just doesnt blend into the spas atmosphere. It would have been a more relaxing afternoon if we had stayed in the scenery and found a hammock somewhere.

This place was a huge disappointment. Came here for our anniversary. The bed and room were clean, but the bed was hard as a rock and very poor quality. I actually felt the springs through the mattress when I would roll over or sit on the bed. The pillows were flat and very hard. I could not fluff them up, they were just like flat bricks. The AC unit never really worked right so we slept for three nights with our windows opened. I chose this place because of the pictures of their indoor pool. I refused to use the pool after seeing it though because of the water stains and filth on the white couches in the pool area, the mildew on the windows and baseboards, the 10 or so dead June bugs laying around, the many laminate floors pieces that were buckled in the game room, the dirty and hazy glass doors. Forget about using the sauna either as I felt dirty just walking thru the place. I could not imagine that the pool and sauna were clean since the surroundings were obviously so filthy and uncared for. Breakfast was OK, but just your usual waffle maker, cereal, coffee, Danish, yogurt and boiled eggs. I guess I was expecting a little more elegant with the fancy views and fancy restaurant where breakfast was served. The icing on the cake was my husband could only find one entrance into the cabin and we were on the second floor. If the 1st floor unit caught fire, we would have had to jump out the window as he could not find another means of escape. He realized this our last night so we did not ask, but I would definitely ask if you do choose to stay here after this review. As for us, Boone is a beautiful place but we will find some place better to stay for our next visit.

This review is based on the spa only. The spa itself is run down, dirty and old. You walk in and the waiting room had no one to greet us. The couches literally had stains on them. The place was described online with amenities like steam room, sauna, etc. those areas were open by the gym and the sauna was broken. There was dirt on the floors, mold on the walls, couches by the pool and entrance had stains, cans were filled with trash, poor patching on walls. We asked for shoes and robes and it seemed like they didn’t want to but they came back and didn’t have three pairs with the right size because quote«they get stolen all the time.» The same response when she brought Manual locks for the lockers. Didn’t have enough. Everyone was so akward probably because they are contracted and don’t work there. The big issue is me sitting in my robe waiting in the lobby and men sitting there… There is no private relaxation or waiting rooms. And the robes were cheap so you could see through them. The only reason I have two stars instead of one is because the services were actually good. Lori did my facial no was super nice and did a great job. Tessa was the massage therapist and was good as well. Overall I can’t say I would return as the atmosphere was just horrendous. Super disappointed, the website is a big fat lie!

We were here for my husband’s birthday and enjoyed our stay. Kim was extremely helpful in setting up our spa appts and picnic basket lunch. Must ask for Darin(with an i) for your massage. His back and foot techniques were amazing! We stayed in a Villa Master Suite which had a full kitchen, fireplace and standard-sized jetted bathtub. The breakfast is simple with mini pastries/mini muffins, bagels, cereal and a waffle maker. The villas and spa are separate buildings so it’s a chilly brisk walk in the colder months. In the Spa, we enjoyed the large rectangular heated swimming pool, gym, sauna and there is a steam room but it was out of order. In the game room we played tennis and tried a game of air hockey on the mini pool/game table but the air wasn’t working. They also have a cornhole toss set up. The Fresh Catch(Corvina) at the restaurant was cooked perfect and not overpowered by sauce and the local salad with gorgonzola, candied pecans, pickled beets and pomegranate vinaigrette was very tasty and not too sweet. We received a complimentary dessert and a staff member sang the most beautiful Happy Birthday! We were getting ready to sing along until she started in and stunned us all. Thank you Katrina!

Only went to the Crestwood Inn to complete our«small plate crawl» restaurant hopping(wanted after dinner drinks). We specifically chose Crestwood Inn due to the fancy drinks that the Inn advertised as their special offer for the plate crawl. Jessica, the bartender was accommodating even though the drink that was advertised was not available. Apparently they did not have one of the ingredients. We enjoyed the drinks that she mixed for us. Great tasting and fun. Jessica was a wonderful bartender. Would have given 5 stars if they had the exact drinks they advertised and that we really came there for.

We have stayed at Crestwood a number of times and find it to be a nice place with pleasant employees. This trip we made the mistake of staying Monday and Tuesday night. The bar and the restaurant are not open either night. The Gamekeeper another restaurant that is close is closed the same days. We had to go into Blowing Rock each night to eat dinner. Challenging mountain roads make it a interesting drive especially if you have a glass of wine or two. We stayed in room 7 in the Inn and the screen on the TV in the room was not much bigger than my IPAD. If you try to watch from the bed it was difficult to read the World Series score. The breakfast that came with the room would have been okay for a Days Inn but was disappointing for what we would expect at more up scale Inn. No fruit of any kind was available. Would have been nice to have some yogurt available. I saw one of the employees having some.

I was only here for the Massage services so this is in direct correlation with that. First impressions are critical and this place had a nice little waiting area and responsive staff to greet you so that was good. Unfortunately the couples massage room is located inside the gym/workout area. That wasn’t so good. Just kind of broke the zen image I think they are going for like most places like this. The masseuse was good, although a tad too talkative. I didn’t want to be rude but I like a little chit chat but too much is a distraction. I want to just focus on my zen self. All in all it was a good experience, just could have been a bit better.

I proposed to my fiancé under the little wooden arch out in the courtyard. It has been an amazing and most memorable trip that I soon won’t forget. The staff has been very friendly and informative. The spa is awesome! The work out room had plenty of equipment, the pool was very clear, and the sauna really hit the spot at the end of the day. We will definitely be coming back!

We stayed at The Inn at Crestwood for an anniversary weekend trip and to attend a wedding. Based on the website photos and room prices, we expected a serene, relaxing mountain weekend, but the only thing we got was the mountain. Our first room(#10) was right by the on-site restaurant and not only did we constantly hear people walking and talking, we also had a loud vibration in our room that seemed to be due to heavy machinery from the restaurant. Our shades were also missing multiple blinds and the room overall had the look and feel of a cheap hotel, not a resort(uncomfortable bed, 19″ TV, cheap fixtures and carpeting). When we woke up the next day after barely any sleep, we requested a new room and also cancelled our planned third night. Our next room(#101, the bottom of a villa) was substantially more quiet but had stains on the bedroom wall and ceiling of the shower, had no clock, and the wireless internet did not work down there. We also awoke the next morning to a dog that had been left alone in our neighbor’s room and was barking and crying. The views from the resort are truly amazing, but almost every hotel in this area is going to have amazing views. We thought we were paying extra for a luxury experience, but what we got was an old hotel that has clearly not been updated in a long time and an exasperated(but sweet) hotel staff that seemed very accustomed to poor guest experiences. Spend your hard earned vacation dollars elsewhere.

Two telephone calls with messages left for them to call back per their instructions in regards to dinner reservations. No response. Called third time and made a reservation but when we showed up, the facility was already booked. GM very offensive trying not to be proactive. Will never attempt another try at this facility.

Overall, I was let down. While I can’t comment on the hotel or the restaurant, the spa services left a great deal to be desired. There were no staff to direct you to the spa portion of the facility when you walked in the main entrance, and when we finally did locate the spa, it took at least 15 minutes for the receptionist to come check us in — even after a staff member who ended up being my massage therapist was sitting in the waiting area talking to her boyfriend. She was obviously dressed in a uniform, looked right at us as we walked in, and didn’t even offer to help. The environment wasn’t very spa-esque, either. It takes more than a beige design palate, a water feature, and some Enya CDs playing in the background to make a Spa(the spa muzak by the way, was a Pandora station that was interrupted by advertisements, totally killing any sense of relaxation I would have had). This was supposed to have been a luxurious experience, and the service, courtesy, and professionalism of the staff was quite frankly, awful. If given the choice to choose Crestwood Spa over another facility, I would choose the other facility.

My husband and I stayed at Crestwood twice during the 2012ASU football season and had a great time both stays. The manager helped organize a «football» package for us and several of our friends. It was great not having to worry about all the details and making arrangments for 20+ people. Nestled right between Boone and Blowing Rock so we didn’t have to drive 30 mins to get to one or the other. As others have mentioned, the views were amazing! Our first stay was late Sept and the weather was just cool enough that we could enjoy the patio with a sweater or light jacket. The restaurant and bar are beautiful and offer easy access to walk in and out to the patio area. The grounds are beautiful, quiet, and secluded with twinkle lights, which I love. We stayed in the Grandfather Suite which had a private deck, living room, dining area, kitchenette and two full baths. I learned that the Inn used to be a family’s private home which was turned into a B&B so you can still see some of that old-school charm in the décor. The bar was fully stock and the wine list was great. The manager and staff were friendly and available and very interested in how our dinner and stay was. Needless to say, we will definately be back again.

After seeing some good reviews, my wife and I decided to spend the night at the Crestwood. We assumed the inn was a slightly out-of-the-way but otherwise standard inn. Were we wrong! The Crestwood is a beautiful mountaintop home that was converted to an upscale inn. We arrived late, cold and wet from a drenching on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the staff could not have been more gracious. They provided covered parking for our motorcycle so it stayed dry. The room we’d booked online wasn’t cleaned yet, so they gave us a free upgrade to the fantastic Grandfather Suite, a massive multi-room suite with stunning views of the mountains, a private deck and a fireplace. The bed was new, firm and high-quality. The kitchenette and bathroom furnishings are definitely low-quality compared to the original armoires and table. It’s a strange combination of expensive antiques, Home Depot particleboard and 70’s fixtures. The positives outweighed the negatives all in all. Dinner at the Table restaurant was excellent. We had a grilled peach salad that was fresh and simple. We don’t get shrimp and grits in New England, so I had to try it. It was great — rich, creamy grits with tasso ham gravy and diced veg, and 6 perfectly-cooked shrimp. My wife’s chicken pot pie was amazing as well. The dining room is incredible — huge, soaring ceiling, an enormous fieldstone fireplace and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. We love staying at places like The Crestwood for great, personal service and funky, charming lodging. This was a real find.

I would love to give this spot 5 stars because truthfully I loved our visit. However they have a major design flaw of thin walls. So if you are unlucky enough to be next door to a middle of the night screamer you are going to have awkward times at breakfast the next morning. Ignoring that, the room was wonderful with a small fireplace, fabulous views, tiled bathroom with jetted tub and great bed. The on site restaurant does a great job with unique flavors. The little bar is comfortable. Breakfast wasn’t fancy but healthy and adequate. The spa was nice. We didn’t do any therapies but enjoyed the fitness equipment, sauna and pool. The staff was friendly and very competent. The entire weekend was great and while trying to figure out who«my god» girl was all weekend was entertaining it isn’t the sort of sharing you want to have with your co-guests…but I would take my chances on that and go back given the opportunity.

This was our 2nd long weekend visit(both during the October leaf peeper season) — and we absolutely love this Inn. It is very convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway and within 10 minutes of both Boone’s and Blowing Rock’s downtown area’s. The Inn itself has about 30 rooms and a very nice restaurant. Also on the grounds are cottages for rent and also a fitness/spa building. The entire rear of the Inn looks out upon Grandfather Mountain and has stunning views. For the rooms — we have only stayed in the Inn itself. The rooms are adequately detailed on the webpage, so i would recommend visiting the page and then making a specific room reservation. Our first trip we stayed in an Elite King that had a fireplace and a balcony that overlooked Grandfather Mountain. This time we stayed in the Master King Suite which had a large den-like room with a fireplace in addition to the separate bedroom. This room came with a large private balcony overlooking Grandfather Mountain. The rooms have always been very nice and clean. Make sure to request a room with a balcony on the back of the Inn so that you see the stunning views of the valley and G’father Mtn. The restaurant and bar are very nice. The back wall of the dining room is a huge 2 story window that allows you to see the stunning views of the valley and the mountains — not a bad seat in the house. We started off with the new england clam chowder and a chopped salad with their homemade blue cheese — both were very good. For our entrees we had the large diver sea scallops that came out with a mushroom risotto — the flavors were awesome and they gave you 6 huge scallops. We also ordered the Filet which was cooked perfectly as ordered and was very good! The dining room manager was awesome and made a special tropical drink and a cheeseburger for our 8 year old son — very kid friendly as well. They have a large outdoor patio area that is elevated — again in the rear of the property to take advantage of the views. Great access from the bar as well so you can take your drinks outside — in the cooler weather they also have a large fire pit. The fitness/spa was pretty nice and is right beside the Inn. They have a small fitness area with cardio machines and 1 outdated weight machine. The pool is a nice long lap pool that is heated. The steam room worked but the sauna room did not. Not the nicest for a property like this which is why the 4 stars overall. Overall great place! We love the location and the restaurant. Great owners with a very friendly staff.

The Inn: Consistently inconsistent. Nicely tiled bathroom and accessories from Wal-Mart. Huge four-poster bed(with steps due to height) and worn carpet. Sweet gas fireplace with timer and old-school wall-mount hotel heating and cooling unit. Great location(outside), water damage in many areas(inside). The Restaurant: Awesome view. Nice looking menu that offers solid, if not spectacular, food once delivered. Like most places, the reality does not always live up to the promise. The Spa: Did not actually try the services, but the pool, while heated, is not heated much. Quite cool to the touch. The dry sauna did not work. The steam sauna did work. Unfortunately, the entire building is disconnected from the main building, and completely inconvenient to get to. Incredibly difficult to find, let alone walk to if you want to try for a swim(if you want to risk the mountain air). The Staff: Very friendly. Good thing.
