Was passing through town and needed a coffee break. Really loved the feel and atmosphere of this place. The coffee is super good and reasonably priced. Plenty of space to sit and read or study. They play vinyl records which I thought was unique.

It was good coffee. It was jammed pack, I imagine it was finals week at App State, with college students, which was cool in college, but I am long removed from that scene. Hence the reason I gave it a 4 not a 5 It does have a cool vibe and lots of nooks and crannies upstairs.

Great coffee. I usually get the medium roast. Their breakfast biscuits are delicious. I find the downstairs area good for people watching but too loud. The upstairs area is cozy. They sell coffee beans too. Great local store!

Amaaaaaaaaaazing spot for well-made cappuccino or macchiato and superb freshly baked scones and Vegan muffins. A great spot to read, study, chat with friends or simply«be». .. . Grazie Mille.

I have been living in Chicago for nearly a year after leaving Boone and have still not found a local coffee shop I love as much as E News. The atmosphere is great, there’s a reasonable amount of comfortable seating, and the baked goods are fantastic.

Always solid coffee and espresso. One of the local favorites in the area. Do me a favor and please have a shot of espresso… you will not regret it if you are like me and you are scouring the earth for the best shots. Don’t pay no mind to the fact that the baristas are not chatty, they are skilled in the craft of coffee… Not small talk so drink that shot, smile(but not too much) and enjoy the caffeine! I do.

Coffee to kill for. Beans roasted on site, great latte art, fun and funky hang out. You can’t beat the triple macchiato for under $ 3 or a pound of beans for $ 12.

An ASU alum recommended I check out Espresso News when I’d be in Boone, and then another ASU alum wanted to meet my friend and I there for coffee. So apparently, alums dig it! There’s not much parking but we were able to snag a spot on the street since it was still early. I ordered a coffee(medium Bali) which I liked though not being a coffee person, can’t say too much about that. They had a lot of vegan pastry offerings if that’s your thing. The clientele seemed to be mostly students and some older residents; the small space filled up quickly. It looked like there was an upstairs but I didn’t check it out. I felt like a supercool undergrad, hanging out at Espresso News.

Coffee is overpriced, you can get the same thing at most gas stations for much less than half the price. Staff are rude and rather snooty. Good place to come if you burn incense, don’t like to wear shoes, wear tie dye, or don’t like to bath frequently. AKA a hippy hangout.

We no longer live close by, but whenever in town we HAVE to come by for a Mocha. The coffee and attention given to making the coffee is like no where else! A really cool chill/hang out area but also perfect for a stop by! We miss your mad coffee skills!

One of the best coffee places in the area. Great in house baked goods, great coffee, friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere.

There was an adorable puppy here and coffee was fresh and delicious. Very satisfying for a chilly day. Didn’t try the food but it looked very good. Great place for college students and everybody in general!

The ambiance of this place is really a draw. It’s tucked away from the Appalachian campus but it offers great coffee & tasty food. The smell of scones and other baked goods wafts throughout the coffee shop. Go upstairs to find a quiet corner to read, study or just hang. This is a great coffee shop, I recommend this to anyone visiting Boone.

We were here on New Year’s Day. The place mostly caters to college students. But, we felt very welcome as visitors to the area. The prices were reasonable. The coffee was awesome. We even had a bag freshly ground to go.

This is the local spot. Doesn’t cater to a ton of outsiders. Great for actually getting work done, meeting with folks, or reading. Every time I am in town, I try to visit. Excellence is obvious in their self-roasted beans. I also like that they don’t have a mermaid on the logo. :-)

Was in Boone recently visiting my daughter and stopped in for a cup of joe. Exactly what I’d expect in Boone. Not a big place but good coffee served out of real coffee mugs. I didn’t try any food but this place hits the spot on a cold, windy evening.

Hipster-Hippie coffee hangout. Not far from courthouse. Cool place to hang, have a great java with artistic foam design on top and feel old, if you’re like me and wear a suit. On the other hand, despite personally looking like a Reagan Republican, everyone is very nice and accommodating. Lots of purposely messy hair, subdued and muted color palate clothes and used paperback books. Good tunes like Stereo Lab on the 1979 Bose speakers and CLAYTIMES magazine. Sixty-year-old man rolling his own cigarettes on front porch, rapping with kids. Convos involve philosophy class, Jesus, rock climbing and politics. Ahhhhh, college. Keep on them about offering some gluten free!

This is such a Boone hipster joint that it makes me giggle. That said, the drinks are hand crafted and these people know how to deal with their espresso. The shots are pulled right away and not left to sit like starbucks’ shots are all too often. The full flavor of the espresso is there!
