Andy took my Dad and I down the Watauga on a full day float. In spite of some less than perfect weather, Andy put us on some great fish. Andy was patient and super knowledgeable. Looking forward to coming back in the spring!

Andy and Fish Goat Guide Service are the real deal (or reel deal?)! He took us on an all day float down the Watauga River in Tennessee and it could not have been more enjoyable. I’ve never been fly fishing before and was honestly skeptical about learning, simply because I thought it would be too difficult to learn in a day. Nothing could be further than the truth. Andy was patient, instructive, relaxed and enjoyable, even when I hooked everything in site… the boat, my buddy, the trees, etc. Just a couple hours into the trip I was casting like a pro (beginner)! On top of the relaxed professionalism that comes with Fish Goat, the scenery, water, river and fresh air really sealed the day for me. I recommend Fish Goat to anyone, on any fishing level. I can’t wait to go back and do it again.

My experience with Fish Goat Guide Service was everything I hoped for and much, much more. The setting (Boone, NC) provides the ideal and quintessential fly fishing experience, but a bad guide can negate this. Luckily, Fish Goat’s primary guide, Andy, is not only a master fly fisherman and teacher who has been honing his craft his entire life, but also an extremely affable and warm guy who will regale you with tales of his fascinating life. Can’t recommend enough!
