The food is fine however they need to address the poor customer service and lack of dicipline their employees have. My waitress ate at the bar during my short lunch and never refilled my drink.

We recently visited Primo’s for a late lunch. It was a slow afternoon with almost nobody else in the restaurant. Service was very good, efficient, attentive but not invasive. Garlic knots were OK. The flavor was good. They were a little greasy, a little doughy. They were just barely warm. If they had been fresh from the oven, or even if they had been heated all the way through, they could have been excellent. Broccoli soup had a very nice flavor, nice big chunks of broccoli, and a nice garnish of real cheese. It too was not hot. Probably the cup was not heated before adding the soup, so the heavy pottery quickly cooled the soup. Caesar salad was crisp, fresh and cold. Very good. Pizza was OK. The crust was dry and tough, and it was just not a fresh slice. Not what we had hoped for. I’ve had very good pizza here before, so this was a disappointment. Pasta was OK. Again, warm but definitely not hot. There was a lot of liquid in the bottom of the bowl, as if the noodles had not been drained before the sauce was added. I used all the extra napkins to sop up as much of the extra water as I could. Sauce had a nice flavor, meatballs were good, pasta texture was good. Overall, an average experience that could easily have been much better. I’ve been to Primo a few times and have had very good pasta Alfredo, very good pizza, and very disappointing Tiramisu(texture was way off – the only dry Tiramisu I have ever been served). I would go back to give it another try, but I won’t be in a hurry to do so. They have several gluten-free choices, so I will remember Primo’s when I am dining with friends who have this particular dietary requirement.

I routinely call in my order for a calzone. The order has always been promptly filled and available upon my arrival. I love Primo’s calzones… and I’ve had them from most all other locations in Boone. The calzones are always hot and delicious and the best value compared to other sources. My wife and I have also dined in and had a pleasant experience. The service and food were great. I do recommend this restaurant.

I love this place! The salad is «real greens» not iceberg. The pasta is awesome and the prices are excellent. I’ve never experienced a bad meal. I am a good snob and hesitated because it was located in the mall, but it really is a good find! Garlic knots are great! Tomato basil soup is rich and creamy!

Poor service. Waiter«Assumed» multiple things and said that I was to take my salad home(I live 4 hour away) that I no longer wanted after she assumed and brought a 2nd one. I was told they did half sizes and then she came back and said its only on Thursday. Food was fine. I showed her the free drink from Unilocal and she just took my phone and went into the kitchen. Not a place I would come back to…

Food was terrible!!! If you like the American style of cooking you shit in a microwave and charging you $ 14 for a plate then this is your place! Please, please don’t eat here. Send restaurants like this a message that you want food too order NOT microwave pasta!

I’m updating my review… My family and I eat here all the time. The food has been great. My kids love the pizza but I typically choose something else. The homemade tomato basil soup, garlic knots, and pub chips are excellent. My husband loves the calzones!

Not the best, or the worst, Italian I’ve ever had. The EGGPLANTSTACK was really interesting, and I have to give the restaurant credit for that. It contained at least three layers each of breaded and fried eggplant, roasted red peppers, and fresh mozzarella. I asked for the balsamic reduction on the side and I’m glad I did. It was perfect to dip in, but would have been too sweet poured over the entire dish. The pizza we ordered was delivered to our table missing one topping and substituting regular tomatoes for sun-dried tomatoes. Fail. But that’s probably a service failure. The toppings were incredibly flavorful. The jalapenos were very spicy, and the meatballs had excellent flavor and texture. Personally I prefer thinner crust pizzas, but this was interesting for a change. Definitely better than I expected from a strip mall/mall-based restaurant, but nothing that rocked my socks.

This is a family owned restaurant in the Boone mall. The food was great and our waiter was very kind. The lunch specials are a great deal. The pizza slices were so big that our 21 dollar order fed 5 people. The only issue would be the lengthy wait time, but our waiter brought us delicious garlic knots so it was worth the wait.

First time for this restaurant. Called order in, told ready in 30min. ended up being :45. Could understand though as it was busy. While waiting did notice large portions that looked appetizing. The salad was good, crisp, and pleased with the Blue Cheese dressing. The entrées though were disappointing. The Shrimp Scampi was very bland, no garlic or lemon or wine flavor, basically just plain tasting noodles with only 5 shrimp, just not what I would expect for $ 17. The Lasagna too was also very bland, no real taste or seasoning. Overall another disappointing Boone restaurant.

My wife and I ate here tonight… This is not good Italian food. It took over one hour to get our food… I sent back my side of meatballs because they were unedible …Subway sub shop has better meat balls and that ain’t saying much for their meatballs. I had baked ziti which was some penne pasta with blobs of unseasoned ricotta tossed on top. That is not how you make baked ziti. My wife had a calzone which was just«ok». Our waiter was very nice but totally clueless about being a waiter… we had to ask for our table to be cleaned, then had to ask for them to dry it, when food did arrive we had no silverware or napkins. Also, also after dinner their were two cooks and one waitress at the exterior of the restaurant smoking next to the entrance doors… Gross…we will never go back. I can only assume the other reviews were made by the owners and or their friends because their food is simply nothing to talk about. To be fair my salad was very good and so were the garlic knots.

Primo’s was my favorite restaurant in Boone! Their garlic knots are homemade and are the best thing ever. Also try their salads, they’re all fresh and wonderful, my fiancé especially loved the Spinach Salad with the fresh strawberries and blue cheese crumble. My favorite entrée was the Penne Vodka, so rich and creamy! Large portion sizes too, so you can have some for breakfast the next morning. Also has a decent selection of beers, the bartender can recommend you one based on what you like. The only thing that kinda sucks is that it is in the shopping mall, so when the mall closes the restaurant closes(early on Sundays :()

I don’t love Italian, but this place is surprisingly good. The food is well-made, and the portions are great for the price.

We were vacationing in North Carolina recently and decided to try Primo’s. Great restaurant. The garlic knots and the pizza was delicious. The portions are huge and the prices are great! But best of all is the customer service that they give you. Our waitress was wonderful. Very attentive and very nice. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I was completely blown away. I have probably given 2 five-star reviews ever on Unilocal and Primo’s has earned one of them. We went here for lunch on a Sunday expecting to get some pizza for the kids and maybe a calzone or some pasta for the adults. Instead, we discovered their Sunday buffet and ate ourselves sick it was so good. The buffet had 6 items on it: 1. Breakfast lasagna(grits, sausage, bacon, eggs and Lasagna noodles with a buttery white sauce) 2. Assorted Ravioli(mushroom, cheese, spinach and butternut squash) 3. Pot roast 4. Mashed potatoes 5. Roasted mixed veggies 6. Pizza Everything was incredible. The ravioli was probably the best I ever had. I cannot recommend this place enough! The executive chef knows her stuff! Best kept secret in The High Country.

Awesome!!! We found this place via an internet search, and it was great. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. The garlic knots were huge and soft and covered with garlic and parmesan. The new york style pepperoni pizza hit the spot, and the baked ziti was one of the best I have ever tasted. After dinner, they surprised us with an order of zeppole, which were light and fluffy and covered with powdered sugar. When they found out it was my wife’s birthday, they brought out a birthday cannoli, which was also delicious. If you’re ever in Boone and hungry for some Italian, this is a fantastic choice.
