Dirty, cold & nasty place. Went in February of 2015. They were using electric space heaters to keep the place warm. Steaks overcooked too. Possibly one of the worst dining experiences in my life. Really! I guess the positive was, the beer was cold… so many great places to eat in Boone to waste your money on this place.

Great food, FANTASTIC service! We were hesitant to go due to some reviews we read but either it has changed a lot or those people are just complainers because we had a fantastic experience! Had a large party of 14 and still great, quick service! Food was YUMMY!

Went there for lunch today. Evan was incredible. Service was fast and accurate. I had the fish and chips. Outstanding. My wife had the chicken. Outstanding as well. The Mac and cheese was very good also. Evan checked on us several times and the manager also checked on us. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The yeast rolls and butter just made our mouths water wanting more. Great sweet tea. Would have no problem going back.

The food is pretty good the wait staff is very nice but but the service is very very slow I’m employed one and a half miles from sagebrush and can’t hardly get my lunch in within the hour

Two stars: 1 for kind collected waitress despite stressful situation, 1 for the quality of food and drinks. Minus 3 stars as its been over any 1 hour and 15 minutes and we still don’t have our food. We didn’t have our drinks until after 20 minutes in and we didn’t get out appetizers until 55 minutes in. It’s Friday in a small town during homecoming. I do not understand why they are so short staffed and why our waitress was not offered *any* help from other staff members to service the tables as we are a group of 16. I see plenty of empty tables. Other note– current sanitation score is 86.

I experienced lunch here today. Lunch prices are very reasonable with many choices. I had the grilled chicken tips with a salad. It was really good. My server was good too. I would recommend this place to anyone for lunch.

Service was horrible. As soon as we ordered, the rude waitress made it a point to say that if my son wanted more chocolate milk, it would not be a free refill. Ok… so how about a friendly greeting?! Lol! Then we had literally taken 2 bites of our salad when she brought all of the entrees. Our steaks sat there for 10 minutes while we ate our salads. By the time we got to our entrees, they were cold… but it tasted like the mashed potatoes died way before they even got to our table. Then… just before I took my last bite of my dinner, she brought us the yeast rolls. I told her not to bother… we were finished. We all had planned to get dessert but left and settled for a Frosty at Wendy’s.

Food is pretty good, but the service is slow.
I got the sirloin tips and the crab cake, both were excellent. The only complaint is that my wife’s steak was really well done… I mean really well done.

My wife and I live nearby and this was our first visit. Service for a Saturday night was outstanding. Very courteous and prompt. We had the prime rib it too was cooked perfectly. We will return!

OK service, below-​average to terrible food. I never give a bad review without having visited a place at least twice and Sagebrush certainly earned this review.
The first night I ordered Rodeo Chicken, which was overcooked and certainly not ‘smothered’ with toppings as the menu claimed. The veggie medley was the only decent part of the meal.
On my second visit I ordered wings and specifically requested them ‘crispy’ but they came out with rubber skins and were drizzled with a tasteless sauce.
After two wings I found pink meat and stopped eating them. Now I’m sitting in my hotel room waiting to throw up.
Sagebrush Steakhouse is a place to avoid!

This was the first and last time I will ever step foot into this restaurant I wanted to take my family to a nice diner and had nothing but horrible service, we never received the bread we ordered, our food was either overcooked or undercooked, the staff was very ride and I felt very uncomfortable, the Price that I paid was not worth it at all I could of had a 2 for $ 20 meal at chilis with better food and service I wanted to talk to the manager to get the price on my receipt fixed but I couldn’t get two words in and didn’t want to wait any longer with 3 anxious and tired kids! This place was HORRIBLE! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE!

I wish we had a Sagebrush Steakhouse in upstate SC! My friends and I visited the Boone, NC area recently and we had dinner on our first night there. I loved the atmosphere! I was taken aback at first. It was different than I’d imagined, but I enjoyed it! The food was OFF THE CHAIN (delicious). When we return to the mountains, we’re going back there to eat! I could’ve eaten there every day of our stay! Check ‘em out, foodies!

never again. asked for medium rare was served a raw barely warmed steak… sent it back twice. finally after the third time the blood red slab was placed in front of me, I settled for eating just my baked potato and broccoli.

Don’t eat here! Wish we would’ve had peanut butter and jelly at home.
When we were greeted from our waitress she mentioned that she worked 14 hours three days in a row and the service we got reflected it.
The waitress took our drink order but never asked about appetizers. So we had to wait for her to come back to order the appetizers and only after we asked. And it only got better from here…
We didn’t get bread for over 30 minutes of being there. We had 6 in our party, the majority ordered steak. When served, our waitress didn’t check if any of our streaks were cooked to order. Instead of medium they were way over done and chewy. We finally tracked down the manager who offered to re cook them. Since we didn’t have more time to waste after being there for over an hour we asked for them to take the plates back and comp us the meal. They did but it took another 25 min to get our check. Horrible service only trumped by the worse food. Won’t be coming back!

I wish there was an option for negative stars! How can you be known for steaks and not know how to cook one Med Rare. Embarrassingly bad!

I really enjoyed my meal here. My steak was cooked perfect and our service was excellent. We had the fried pickles as an appetizer. The complimentary cheese biscuits were yummy as well! For small town food I would come here for steak next time I’m in the area.

It’s just okay. The loaded baked potato soup is good (it tastes just like Chili’s), but the first one they brought was cold and I had to send it back for a hot one. The fried shrimp isn’t battered. I ordered a medium well steak, and it was good, but much closer to medium. Don’t get the mac and cheese. It is awful. Our waiter was great, though. No complaints about the service.

Terrible service. Slow and not so bright staff. Chili wins no awards in my book, boring and flavorless. Ribs were pretty good but over cooked. Free peanuts while you wait and killer biscuits. That’s about it. A bit pricey but reasonable.
