Over the course of 5 years I’ve been to the Lodge on about 4 occasions. My take away is the music is AWFUL! I’m a NY transplant, so my standards are pretty high as are my musical expectations. They need to stop playing hiphop or only top 40 dance. Proper gay club music is what’s missing here. Drinks are good and reasonable. The actual club surprised me. It’s in a real log cabin on a mountain. The inside is done very well, for a western Md club. The staff seemed great :)

Drinks are fairly priced and strong. Drag show was very good and music afterwards was pretty good too. I have been here several times and always feel welcome. Crowd is majority male and it would be nice if they found a way to bring more women in and I wish they had more seating for when you don’t want to dance but overall I would recommend coming here for a good place to have a few drinks and dance.

Very unique burgers that were very tasty. They also have a very good selection of micro beers. The crab dip was yummy. Our waitress Laura was a great server and I was very pleased when she came and tracked me down after leaving my phone(which has my life in it) on the table. We’ll be back soon to try other things on the menu.

I’ve been to The Lodge twice now for the DC King drag shows. It’s a bit of a drive from DC but I think it’s worth it for the show. Cover was only $ 3 and they had $ 5 drink specials all night long(plus most beer was only $ 3). Staff is friendly and the space is huge. Huge stage with lots of lights and even fog. The outdoor patio was probably my favorite space though when I went last Friday. Great weather, great friends, and a bar outside so you don’t have to go back in. I think the fun you have at bars/clubs really depends on who you’re with and I really couldn’t be with a better group of people so I had a blast!

This past weekend, I came up to Frederick for their 2nd Pride, which was the smallest Pride I’ve ever attended. While it may be small, it was awesome seeing LGBTs hanging out and playing games which is something you rarely see at big city Prides. Of course, after Pride, you have to hit the local gay bars. Problem, Frederick only has one, that I know of, and it is in the boonies. I’m thinking, OMG, what and where the heck am I gonna end up at!!!(I kept thinking of the movie, Wrong Turn.) To my surprise, when my friends and I arrived, the parking lot was packed! You could see strobe lights dancing around outside. Bar stations are everywhere for your drinking convenience. Drinks are cheap compared to DC… and strong! There are dance floors everywhere for your dancing convenience. There’s even an area outside for dancing in foam! There was a DJ outside playing some body throbbing music. Everyone was friendly. There was an awesome diversity of people in attendance! Drag queens were out and about… and gorgeous as well! There was an interesting texting system there. Suppose you like someone but not quite confident to approach the person, you can send a text to a number which your message will appear on a TV screen for everyone to view. I had a grand time there! I only have 1 complaint. Strobe lights were flashing everywhere non-stop, both inside and outside. It is definitely not Deaf-friendly with lights constantly in your eyes. I’ll definitely return! However, I do hope the strobe lights will be reduced or else I’ll lose my interests.

I went to the Lodge once. The woman who greeted me at the door was very sweet as she could tell I wasn’t from around the area and made me feel welcomed. The drinks were faired priced and strong. The crowd was alright with a lot people who were standing around too absorbed into their smartphones to bother to dance. The DJ could certainly learn a better list of music to play besides top 40 radio. Having said that and me being new I was taking pictures when the guy doing the lights got very nasty with me and told me to stop. Overall the place is okay but I really didn’t like how at closing they threw everyone outside into the parking lot very quickly. I won’t be back.

Great bar, great vibe. Always have fun events going on and are constantly upgrading the place. Drinks are reasonable and the crowd is always fun. Totally heterofriendly. Had a great time with my friends — always a blast when we go there!

I’ve been to The Lodge three times in the past two years and it’s always the highlight of my week. Large dance floor and bar area, chill outside patio, and the décor is always really fun. They always have a unique event going on like drag shows, karaōke, themed nights etc. Friendly and attentive bartenders and a always great crowd to spend the night with.

The city-slicker outsider enters at 9:15 p.m., greeted by a cordial hostess who probably could tell by my expression I wasn’t from around there. For one thing, it was«The Red Party,» the Saturday before Valentine’s Day, and if I was wearing any red garments, she wasn’t seeing them. The crowd finally started piling in around 9:55, as there was a «no cover before 10» promotion. I retired maybe before wildness ensued, but the folks seeking shelter from the blowing snow outside were snugging in and partying for a good while, it seemed, the DJ notching up the volume as the crowd noise increased. Not a LOT of dancers, but plenty of spectators to watch M/F, M/M and F/F pairs, trios and what I can only describe as «wiggle groups» all shaking their tail feathers. I’ve never seen women dance in UGG-boots nor guys in what I’d describe as construction boots, but hey, it was below freezing outside, and while there were multiple side rooms + the main dance room, I didn’t see there was any place to park your gym bag with your spare footwear. The screens displaying SMS-text comments sent from patrons varied from«RIP, Whitney» to «The guy in the white baseball cap’s MINE!» So, if you’re shy, there’s a way to start a conversation with a total stranger. Thankfully, those often volunteered as designated driver-types get by with reasonably-priced beverages and whatever was the fruit & rum concoction(«My Drink») Mark was pouring was less than my glass of wine earlier at dinner in Shepherdstown. Kudos: *Cordial, helpful hostess, a tall, not-wallflower woman with a warming smile; *Snappy-lipped, attentive and chatty bartender Mark, who did point out both the co-owners circulating on the floor, but not close enough for a chat.
