Over the years I’ve found it to be a guilty pleasure to have an occasional slice or two of Pizza Hut pizza. You know it’s going to be terrible but you still eat it anyway. After eating the pizza here I’ve changed my mind. What I ate was one of the most terrible pizzas I’ve ever had. We went to a kids birthday party at the Boonton Lanes and they have the Pizza Hut inside the building. They fed the kids personal sized pies and when I was cutting it up for my son, I placed my hand under the slice and was immediately greeted with a grease soaked handful of pre-made dough. I don’t understand why the dough is so greasy? Do they line the pans with sticks of butter before cooking? Let’s move onto the sauce. I find sauce the most important part of the pizza. It will make or break a pie for me. Not only was the sauce sparsely distributed on the large adult sized pizzas, it was dry and almost flavorless. Just terrible. I’m assuming what was on top of the pizza was cheese, but I wouldn’t bet money on it. Have you ever gone to a Hispanic super market and seen the«cheese product» next to the real cheese? I think that’s what it was. It didn’t really melt properly and was chunky in parts. I know Pizza Hut uses pre-made frozen dough and cooks the pizzas on a conveyor belt type oven, but the placement of sauce and cheese was also done terribly by the employees. The crust was about two inches in diameter, when the Pizza Hut norm is almost no crust at all. They skimped on the sauce and dough big time. So do yourself a favor if you are considering eating a pizza in this bowling alley. Go to the store, get some white bread, sticks of butter and some dirt from the parking lot, throw it in the microwave for two minutes and eat the result. It will taste better and probably be healthier for you than the alternative. I’ve also been to the toilet 3 times since I got home if that’s any indication on how my body processed that meal.
