The staff was friendly and competent, but the rooms were a throwback to the 1970’s, in many ways. There has obviously been some renovation, but it’s still very dated. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and the toiletries were ok. There was a big flat screen tv. Breakfast was ok, not outstanding. The one public computer(a laptop), was not working. Hotel wi-fi was free, but slow. There was another open network that was fast and had a stronger signal. Don’t know the source. The location was very good for local shops and restaurants, but it got a bit noisy from crowds lining up to go out on various boat trips at the dock. There are no national chain hotels in town, so quirky old places like this can survive, which is probably a good thing.

Booked a one night stay… Staff is friendly and breakfast is good… However upon waking and moving my blankets around I found a used band-aid in my bed(disgusting) … Would not recommend to friends

Very dated room and poor carpet. They tried to initially put us in a older room in the original section of the hotel. It was pretty bad. They then moved us to a new section but it still needs updating. They are becoming noncompetitive. They are a little pricey for what they have to offer.

I had specifically requested room 218 back in January because of the view of the harbor from our small deck. The room is nothing special with outdated furniture, a small bathroom and old TV, but it is hard to beat the combination of location and price. Breakfast continues to be included in the room rate, but has reverted back to a buffet without a cooking station. One negative is the housekeeping staff does minimal cleaning during multi-night stays.

Just spent 16 days at the Fisherman’s Wharf Inn. The pros: The new owners are doing a good job of renovating the rooms. We stayed in room 233 which has a separate sitting room with a flat screen TV couch and small fridge. The room was clean and repainted recently. It too has a flat screen TV comfortable twin beds and plenty of dressers for clothes. The balcony overlooks the harbor and the tour boats. The inn is in the center of town within walking distance of all the restaurants and shops. The staff is fantastic, friendly helpful and go out of the way to make your stay a great experience. The free breakfast buffet is good, eggs bacon, sausage, pancakes, french toast, breakfast potatoes, etc. The valet parking is a great help just pull in and they do the rest. If you have a lot of packages they will help you with them and take them to your room for you. This is a very good thing for any people needing help. They have an elevator which is great for people who cannot climb stairs. Before we left the staff told me they were going to continue to renovate the rest of the Inn over the winter. The cons: Not many however, the restaurant needs more people especially when tour bus’s come in which is everyday. There was a couple of mornings when there were a hundred people for breakfast because of bus’s and only one server. It was too much for one person to get coffee, juice and bus the tables. They need more staff in the mornings when they have a bus. We definitely recommend this Inn for short or long stays in Boothbay. Harbor.

I can honestly give Fisherman’s Wharf 4 stars because of the people. Do not expect luxury accommodations here, because it’s not that kind of place. What it lacks in modern décor though, it makes up in a providing a pleasant relaxing place to stay. One of only a couple inn’s on the water of Commercial St. Fisherman’s Wharf is an old classic style inn. Most of the guest staff are incredibly nice. It is very comfortable there as well with big, clean rooms. The complimentary breakfast in the mornings is well above average with a small omelette and carving station, eggs, bacon, pancakes, pastries, fruit and more. The restaurant at other times of the day leaves a lot to be desired, in both food quality and service. But this review is about the inn. You get what you pay for and more with Fisherman’s Wharf Inn. Complimentary harbor cruise passes available for a fun trip of seal watching and lighthouse tour. You can look at other options, but you will not find a nicer, cleaner place like this on Boothbay Harbor that offers this much.

Tacky but clean, great views, rowdy neighbors(human and seagull). We waited too long to look for accommodations so we ended up here as a somewhat last resort. Boothbay Harbor, as it turns out, is pretty much of a tourist crush. The inn lobby is very dated and tacky but quaint in a moldy seacoast kind of way. There is free valet parking in front, which is needed because downtown Boothbay Harbor is a zoo. Our room was clean(sad when you have to mention that) but totally tacky. It’s probably to be expected for a hotel that sits on a pier over water. We had a second story king room with a balcony which had a giant schooner parked right outside, making for an interesting view since we were eye level with the masts. We loved having a balcony and tons of windows. The main drawback is the heavily touristy downmarket feel of Boothbay Harbor itself. Around 11pm a party boat came back from a cruise and docked next door creating a ton of obnoxious noise for a while. Depending on your taste, you may or may not like the collection of nautical noises — seagulls squawking, bells clanging, churn bells, motor boats, the sound of metal pulleys clanging on sail masts. This is probably not a come-backer kind of place, but it’s not the inn, it’s the town I won’t be staying in again. There are plenty of really lovely inns and places to stay just outside the harbor. If you’re looking for a nautical experience, this is your spot. If you want an immaculate trendy dry quite hotel, then go somewhere else(which we’re doing tomorrow!).

What a dump! Just spent last Saturday night there. Stayed in one of their higher end rooms(king bed, balcony with ocean view). Really, the only redeeming thing was the fact they had chairs out on the balcony. The room was dirty. The linens were old. The carpet needed to be replaced. The boiler was broken, so we had no hot water to take a shower. What an awful experience. Next time, we’re going to spend a little extra money(this was $ 140/night, so not exactly cheap) and stay at one of the nicer bed and breakfasts.
