Food choices are unique. Service staff needs basic training. 3 waitstaff and could not get the basics correct like providing utensil, or wine glasses with the wine bottle. wasn’t busy at all and the lack of service was just from lack of proper training. Food is wonderful as is the atmosphere. Be prepared to be there for a while, service is very slow.

I’m here for my graduation party and everything is perfect expect the staff doesn’t smile at me when I smile at them and I asked them to wrap my burger that I cut in half and they threw half of it out instead of using two take out boxes. I am also a server and would give an awesome tip.

Went here for a lunch with my mother and we both loved the atmosphere! The café is super cute with being decorated by antiques. Definitely bringing my friends next time because they describing this place doesn’t serve the café justice.

First I love the décor in that place! So different. We ordered a bunch of tapas and everything was delicious(except the potato pancake that was really bland). The desserts are homemade and the crème brûlée pie was not the best I’ve had, but it was pretty good. The kids and husband loved their picks. My main issue with that place is the price. $ 7 – 8 for small plates is just excessive. The $ 30 menu was a better value but again, the first course was tiny. We ended up paying over $ 100 for 4 of us, including 2 kids who didn’t eat much.

A delicious lunch with small plates, big entrees and home made desserts. A unique interior and friendly service in a very quaint historic town. A nice way to spend an afternoon. Bring your own wins or beer.

Absolutely fantastic. We have had some excellent meals in Bordentown and this one was up there with the best. My in laws had entrees. I tasted both and they were amazing especially my Mother-in-laws stuffed pork. My Husband and I shared a bunch of tapas and each was better than the next: octopus(so tender), rice balls, corn pudding, tostadas, lamb. All were fabulous. Then came dessert. WOW. I had the bread pudding which was awesome(although could have been heated a bit more). My in laws had a crème brûlée pie which was to die for. Our server was very good although she did disappear at the end of the night so it took us a while to get out of there, but other than that she was attentive, friendly, accommodating and the food came out timely in spite of it being a busy Saturday night.

This restaurant could easily be an eclectic, hip spot in Brooklyn. But what’s better is that it is right in Bordentown, NJ! If the atmosphere of mixed matched dining ware or two top tables made from old sewing machines doesn’t have you over the moon, the food will more than win you over. We stopped in on a rainy Monday only to have our souls warmed with creamy, gooey goat cheese baked in a sweet tomato sauce. The short ribs and whipped potatoes topped with blue cheese was the perfect combo of savory and sharpness. And since it was national Pie day, we got a slice of the chocolate cream to go which was deceptively decadent. You literally cannot go wrong at this place. And since its BYOB, the choice of booze is always perfect!(However, I would suggest a bottle of Malbec to pair with the spicy and savory menu.) As if it has to be said, I definitely believe we found our new regular spot at Under the Moon.

Went here for dinner w my fiancée and we loved the décor. Nothing matches but yet it works! Super chick and is BYOB wish we knew, next time we will def bring a bottle of wine love their tapas menu, wouldn’t recommend their ropa vieja if u are used to the real thing from NYC or Miami other than that so far we liked their meat balls and the corn something was my favorite. Will def try new stuff next time

Under the Moon is a homely Argentinian inspired restaurant. I tried the pretty good empanadas with their ‘from the home country’ chimichurri which was tasty. The polenta fries were sub par. They need to be fried more for a crispy outer texture. The tomato sauce on them is, well, not a good pairing. Very friendly waitstaff and eclectic décor. The distinct smell of oil was bothersome. I would go back again to try a salad and entrée but I sure hope the place does not smell oily.

The potato leek soup was excellent! I could hear others all commenting the same. Perfect during the first snow of the season. I had a delicious crab cake sandwich on a brioche– so fresh that I had to eat every bite even though my tummy was quite full. The eclectic décor set the mood — service staff was great.

Hidden gem. Great eclectic décor and tasty food with a Latin flare. Friendly service and easy parking. Bordentown is quaint and so is this place.

Love the Food and Service, their empanadas are the best i ever tasted!!! Not to mention, what ever I pick from the menu never disappoints. The eclectic decilor sends me back in time to the days of visiting my grandma, aunt’s and uncle’s homes for family gatherings. Im at home at Under The Moon. Bravo!

They served many delicious options during the Cranberry festival. I enjoyed beef empanadas and chicken paella for lunch and both offered a flavorful experience. Sweet tooth kicked in and coconut cream pie was another winner. Definitely planning a return visit, especially since it is conveniently located a short walking distance from light rail. They also offer a BYOB if it is something you like.

We went for dessert only due to a little glitch and let me tell you — the BEST dessert I’ve had in a long time, and in thinking about it, honestly — perhaphs ever! I’m not sure if the ‘pie’ is called peanut butter pie or buckeye but the peanut butter was rich and very very tasty and it was fudge topped(wow rich too!) but the really unique part was the BROWNIE crust, which was to die for! I love both chocolate(we’re talking borderline issues!) and peanut butter so this was the best of both worlds for me! From the little glimpse of the décor we saw, it was so charming and inviting. I’m looking forward to going back sometime to try their food — I have a feeling that it would be tremendous!

We wanted to get a little bite to nosh on tonight but ran into a slight glitch. It seems that once a month this restaurant features a live jazz singer. On those evenings your only option is a 3 course menu for $ 35, which actually looked very appetizing. This was more food than we desired so we ducked out after contemplating the enticing dessert case. After a quick snack elsewhere we were still being haunted by those decadent pies and cakes. We returned and ordered a peanut butter and a chocolate cream pie, and found a table outside at which to enjoy them. And enjoy we did, both choices were probably the best examples I’ve ever tasted of these. Each were so flavorful and rich(not to mention large) one would probably be enough to share. After trying the desserts I need to come back for the food(of course another sweet treat would figure in too) It is inconceivable to me that anyplace that takes as much pride in end of meal offerings would not also take pride in the whole meal. Plus the place is super cute. 4 Lunas

First off, this place smells like my grandmother’s storage closet. The meatballs were hard and tasteless. I had to beat them with a knife to crack in half. The shrimp sat in a bowl of some kind of undesirable seasoning that didn’t stick to the shrimp itself… so it was essentially a shrimp cereal. The empenadas were ok at best and the argula salad was also ok but for $ 9 … meh. The décor is that of an antique road show. It’s baffling that this place has 5 stars.

After passing this place so many times, we finally tried it and I was not disappointed. First, the décor is quirky and cute. It looks like they raided a bunch of thrift shops and garage sales and put everything to use. They also have outdoor seating, which is always a bonus. The cheeseboard was delicious, but I wish it was a little bit bigger. I had a salad and added salmon to it and the small piece of salmon was hardly worth $ 8, but whatever. We shared a bailey’s cheesecake for dessert and it was delicious. Server was very friendly and patient, even though I could tell she was a little busy. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely come back!

Hit another Farnsworth Avenue hotspot yesterday with a late lunch in Under The Moon. Have to say that Bordentown is turning into Lambertville. That is a very good thing. Bonaparte would feel right at home. Under The Moon dresses up like an old antique store that specializes in kitchen furniture and tableware. It is wall to wall tubular steel tables and chairs and trundle tables. The glassware and coffee mugs are a mix of various decades. The painted wood panel ceiling was attractive and interesting. It was all so very charming and cozy. I was alone when I entered around 2:30 looking for a late lunch. Kim greeted me with a big smile and told me to sit anywhere. I picked a double mid-shop to have equal views forward and aft. A run through the menu had me narrow my selection to an appetizer($ 9), as the prices were above my self imposed lunchtime limit. The Corn Soufflé with Leaks sounded about right. It came with a few slices of home baked Garlic Bread, which itself had a small amount of Garlic Butter at the ready. The Soufflé was not large, but it was filling. The consistency was appropriately like whipped egg, and the Fried Leek topping looked like gray straw left by a miniature farmer. The taste was remarkable for the sweetness of the corn and the crispy onion salute of the Leeks. I liked this ensemble very much. The price no longer felt so cher. All the while, Kim returned periodically to check on me and keep me company. When done I was asked if dessert was a consideration. I saw the options in the display near my table. Everything looked over the top! Still, sweets would have to await another visit as I had plans at night. The owners obviously take great pride in their establishment, and they have made an exceptional effort to stylize their house. The food seemed to have a continental and mildly Spanish orientation. No problem there. The empanadas tapas were on my short list. They were made in house by the mamacita or abuela. Under The Moon is a great date.

My Daughter and I stopped here on Father’s Day. Bordentown is a pretty little town and the town center/main street is pretty cool. There are some funky shops and restaurants and parking is easy. Under the moon is a cozy little restaurant and has a nice sort of shabby chic, eclectic vibe. There is a lot if stuff going on, but it all works and it look really inviting. It was such a nice day, we chose to sit outside. We were sort of having a late lunch so we just ordered a salad and 2 Tapas/small plates: Arugula Salad –Topped with shaved Serrano ham, and shredded asiago cheese with freshly squeezed lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil. This was very nice and refreshing salad. We enjoyed this very muc Albondigas — Two Spanish style meatballs served over tomato sauce — This was not bad. The meatballs were bland but the sauce had a nice flavor. Gambas al Ajillo –Petite shrimp, sauteed with slivered garlic white wine and spices — This was a good dish with a very tasty garlic sauce and spices. Under The Moon was good, and I will give it another chance when I back to Bordentown.
