Still a fun place to stay. Clean rooms, great ac, pool toys for the kids, and the memorial weekend water slide was awesome!

Yet another 5 star place in my reviews. But what can I say. These places deserve it. Take this place. Amazing. When you consider its location it should be 6 stars ! Run by a guy who truly knows the area Bob. Saline swimming pool. Well stocked store & lots of tasty brews/drinks. Expect to encounter friendly locals who come down from the coast to stay here & use their off road Vehs. Check them out on their Facebook page for upcoming weekend events.

Here is a star in the middle of the desert. There is a 12 room motel and lots of RV storage and camp grounds. There is a store that has the essentials and even frozen meet for the BBQs which there are several in the pool area. The pool was not heated but the kids went in anyways. The rooms come with a kitchenette or without. We had two rooms and got to see both. Bring pans if you want to cook in the room. By the way, the room without the kitchenette still had a mini fridge and microwave. All were welcome to use the BBQs. The place is perfect for off-roaders as the OHV area is just across the road. Will definitely stay here again! The owners are friendly and make sure that they place stays nice for all and keeps it clean and under control.

Considering you are in the middle of NOWHERE, this place is heaven in the desert. Clean rooms with pretty comfy beds. The AC works GREAT in the heat. The pool is the most popular place to be :) Great spot to stay when you don’t want to camp while off roading. Nice to have a bed, shower & bathroom. Staff is friendly & helpful too

I have stayed in the dirt across the street over 100 times. That’s how I roll. But this time the girlfriend wanted a room. Okay, I must please her. Pleasantly surprised. Real nice place. Very friendly staff. It had everything we needed. Only problem was the wifi was spotty, and the shower door didn’t seal all the way so water got out on the floor.

Bob is amazing. He came to our rescue when our daughter cut her hand and went above and beyond in finding her some first aid supplies. The store is normally closed today(Tuesday) but he offered to open it for us. It’s nice and clean and well stocked. Definitely worth the stop for something cold to drink or anything else you might need. There’s a cool old(fully functional) fire truck in one of the garages in back. Lovingly restored to it’s 1969 glory. If you do stop, have a Popsicle for us and tell Bob we said hello.

I’ve been going to the Ironwoods for 20 years and it’s a great place. Everybody there is like family. Bob’s a lifesaver that’s always willing to help.

diamond in the rough I stayed at Desert Ironwoods with my friends while making a small film in Ocotillo Wells and Borrego Springs. The staff and Bob the owner so supportive and helpful and we had a blast. There’s a stereo around the lit pool and a bunch of open bar-b-q’s so you can grill up anything, anytime. They also have a small store so you can get all your supplies. Everybody is pretty friendly, and there’s a great sense of a nice community at this place. The place is also just peppered with really creative off-roading rigs wich are fun to see. Then of course there’s the offroading park which is free except for the offroading sticker for your non-licensed vehicles. And lastly, nearby split mountain road which is a beautiful sort of canyon and mud hill area which you can drive or hike through, or walk off the trail and do some pretty rugged exploring. Highly recommended! In terms of quality, you should know going in, that this is not a luxurious hotel, but it’s also the least expensive place in the area, and its a very fun very relaxing place non the less with balconies and an awesome pool.
