This place was okay. Went here for a friend’s b-day. Nice lounge area on the 2nd floor– made it easy for an undefined quantity within a party to get together. Pricey food and drink, nothing special.

Stopped for a quick late lunch. Tomato soup was a large portion and probably one of the best I’ve ever had. It wax quiet, the staff was very friendly? Recommended by the Courtyard Marriott, glad I went there.

Came here late night on a Saturday to spend some quality time with my cousins. We wanted a quite spot away from the clubs and crowds where we could grab some food and drinks and have some conversation without shouting over loud music. Abby Lane was perfect for that! We settled in at the bar downstairs and had a really cool bartender(I think his name was Keith) who was friendly and accommodating. They have a nice selection of beers, wines and a decent selection of liquors too. The food is also really good! They have a limited late night menu with a few delicious choices… We got the margarita pizza(perfect combination of fresh mozzarella and basil). We also ordered the brisket Poutine(aka delicious food porn)… Tender melt in your mouth beef brisket, gravy and cheese curds on top of waffle fries. Soooo good! I will definitely visit this place again when I’m back in Boston!

Pretentious for no reason. Don’t even think about sitting at one of the tables upstairs, even though it is always empty, apparently the faux reservation list is lengthy. Apparently they don’t want real business from local residents. They prefer uninformed theatre goers who don’t realize how consistently rude they are!

The Good: Practically across the street from the Wilbur, where we were seeing a show at 8:00. The Bad: Mediocre food, terrible service(how does it take 20 minutes to get a beer??), extremely loud. The Ugly: My husband ordered a burger on a gluten-free bun, and even had a conversation with the waitress about the fact that he’d have to go without the onion ring. The burger came out with an onion roll — he’s about 99% sure it was NOT gluten-free — and the breaded onion ring right on top of the burger. Since he’s not Celiac, he was very hungry, and we’d spent far too much time at this place anyway, he decided to just eat it. But if he’d been Celiac, this could have been a disaster. Don’t offer gluten-free options if you’re ignorant about it! There are a dozen other restaurants near the Wilbur, and we see shows there all the time. This one will not be on our list of options next time.

Came here for the late night menu and for drinks. We ordered: –Thick cut onion rings — CRISPY thick onion rings! It’s like they double fry it, will definitely order it again –Crispy fries — Ordered two of these, pretty good fries. Almost had a Cajun flavor to it but I think I was the only one who thought that. not sure why it’s called crispy fries, I’m guessing they didn’t want to just name that order, fries, because I didn’t think it was that crispy –Pizza salami — Pizza was alright, wasn’t my idea to order this but worth a try if you like spicy. I thought they overdid it with the chile though. Everyone had to scrape off the seeds on the pizza because it was wayyy too spicy –House made powdered donuts — pricey for only 5 munchkin donuts but SOOO worth it. Donuts were so fluffy and it came with 3 chocolate sides to drizzle on. Not sure how others felt but I didn’t see any powder on the donuts at all. If I wasn’t so cheap I would get a whole order for myself but it was 9 bucks! Service was just alright. I only skimmed through the beer menu and the waitress came by and took our orders. I asked if there were any beer that were fruit based and she said not really. Later on, I found out they had shock top. I ended up ordering a Nantucket Reds and if you’re someone that likes a strong drink, come here! Abby Lane does not skimp on liquor. I gave this place only 3 stars because they have an open kitchen there and by the time I left, my clothes and hair smelled like oil! Even my boyfriend smelled it on me when I got back. I would come back again to try their regular menu but only if I was going straight home so I can wash my hair right away.

Located right next to our hotel, we decided to pop in for a late night dinner. Our waiter was very nice, but he was the only one and so everything took longer than I would normally expect. Three sodas, ten minutes, refills were also a little slow. But if you’re in no rush, our food was delicious. I had the mole salmon. Fair warning this is not a traditional Mexican mole. I was disappointed about that, but the food was great. The stars were the vegetables. My sister had the beef tips that were served with this incredible compound butter. When we were there the walls were open, and we got a nice breeze coming in. Overall it made for a memorable first meal in Boston. It’s with a visit if you’re not in a hurry.

I visited Abby Lane on a recent jaunt up to Boston. It was the closest restaurant after I hopped out of the car, voraciously hungry. The ambiance in Abby Lane is super upscale, but still has an air of comfort about it. Our host gave us a choice of seating arrangement, and we chose to sit at regular table instead of a high top. The restaurant feels very spacious, with large windows showcasing the street view. We were given complimentary table potato chips and a creamy, cheesy dipping sauce, which my dinner date said was just ok. She couldn’t really decipher any particular flavors from it. The chips were crispy and delicious, and a fun way to hold us over. They seemed a bit out of place in such a fancy establishment though, as they were more like bar food. I ordered a Made in Mexico(la pinta, mescal, roasted jalapeño, agave, melon, sea salt, mint, fresh lime) and it was absolutely worth $ 14. It was one of the best cocktails I have had all year, and a true feat of artisan work, blending the flavors seamlessly. Abby Lane boasts an impressive list of cocktails, and I wish I had been in the city longer to try more of them. For dinner I ordered the margherita, with fresh basil, mozz, and garlic oil. I must say, I was expecting more from such an upscale establishment. The pizza was boring at best. I mean, it wasn’t bad, but everything seemed bland and tasteless. The crust was blah. The sauce seemed to be crushed tomatoes with no seasoning whatsoever. Fresh mozz is tasteless by nature, and even the basil lacked life flavor-wise. It was the kind of dish that isn’t bad enough to complain to management about, but you know you’ll never order it again. Just, forgettable. All in all, I would recommend Abby Lane for maybe Happy Hour or late night drinks, when you can relax and enjoy a few amazing artisan cocktails without feeling obligated to delve into the menu.

Great place for a quick bite Friendly waiters, nice wine and good food. I ate a Tremont Burger — which is a cheese burger and it was cooked just how I asked. It is located across the theater, so I image a great place to eat when going out there. They would have earned a star more if they would have understand we asked mayonnaise to go with our fries. The pore portion they brought war nearly enough to dip 10 fries in

I’ve been here twice — one for brunch and once for dinner. For dinner, there are some great sandwich/burger selections. It’s decent bar/grill food but nothing to right home about. A unique dish is the lamb burger so try that out if you haven’t had one before. For brunch on a Sunday, it was oddly empty which was a little concerning. The food was again average but the service was a bit disappointing. Honestly don’t remember what we ordered since it was a while ago but I’ll guarantee it wasn’t spectacular.
