This place is ridiculous. It is incredibly tiny, and you have to understand that you can only do so much with that much space. Spaghetti and meatballs are delicious beyond belief. Also, fantastic pizza. And I’m a pizza snob. I work at a pizza place, and crave Alfredo’s pizza instead. When I lived in Allston I would not dare to order from anywhere else as long as Alfredo’s was open. Also the owner/chef is an incredibly sweet man. He puts out the best food the he himself makes, and although there is [less than] minimal seating, nothing is really lost in getting the food for takeout. It’s worth the parking and the lack of seating and all of it, it’s really amazing, authentic food. And, you can speak Italian to the owner if you wish, I forget which region he’s from but he doesn’t speak a Northern or Southern dialect so school learning is a functional option here. Great man, great food. Oh, and GREATCANNOLIS. Enough said… Also, people complaining about waits or long delivery times need to understand A SWEETOLDMANDOESTHISBYHIMSELF. Cut him some slack, it’s Allston for god’s sake. and $ 4 for a «small» piece of tiramisu… tell me anywhere you can get even a taste of tiramisu for less, that’s cheap as hell for what it is, and it’s delicious. Maybe you could get a better one at a 5 star restaurant but this is a privately owned and run tiny hole in the wall place, charging very little for it and it’s delicious. At the end of the day everything is the best it could possibly be, he’s working with what he has and doing his best. I think it’s an amazing place and even though I moved out of Allston I will drive an hour just to eat his food, it’s fantastic. Even if it wasn’t, his service and personality would make up for it, but it’s fantastic.

Stopped by for lunch takeout, it’s a one man operation. Ordered a chicken parmigiana sandwich. 10 – 15 minutes and I had my order. The sandwich was in half a baguette, so good size, and was soft on the inside with excellent crust, what you would expect from a decent bakery. The chicken pieces were big and lightly breaded, so I would guess he prepared these himself. The tomato sauce was basic, not jarred. I would have preferred it was seasoned more with garlic, basil, and/or oregano. Overall a good chicken parm for the money.

The food here was incredible! We got lasagna and a calzone, and both were fantastic. Super flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Prices were affordable as well. A lot cheaper than other Italian joints in the area. If you haven’t gone here yet, do it! ASAP!

I visiting Boston and had a big craving for great linguine with clams… Naturally I went to Unilocal and because I was driving, I wanted somewhere else than downtown area… Looked up Aftrado’s and review looked great, ordered chicken Cesar salad and linguine with clam to go. Cesar salad… was covered in bottled dressing and their bread broken on top of it. I understand their concept of being rustic but at lease should be at least resemble to croutons. The chicken on the salad didn’t taste or look fresh, like pre cooked yesterday for some other dish. and on the menu, it says Linguine with calm scampi style but what I got was in the red sauce. It wasn’t bad but not what I was expecting either, and even as a take out, I totally agree with someone else said pasta being a bit of dry side. There wasn’t enough sauce/pasta ratio there.

Alfredo’s is a delicious and well priced hidden gem – definitely worth checking out if you live in Brighton/Allston. We’ve been eating there about once a week since we discovered him on Unilocal a few months ago.(looking for GOOD food in Brighton/Allston – where let’s face it– there is so much crap food to be sifted through… thank Goodness for Unilocal!) Alfredo’s is a one man show – a place that is small on size but HUGE on taste, quality of ingredients, and authenticity. Chef/owner/host is from Italy and has been cooking forever – learning from his Mom and perfecting his skills at top restaurants in the North End until opening his own place here in Allston about 8 years ago. My advice: Eat there – fresh cooked pasta will suffer in transport… plus you will enjoy the smell of the garlic in the sauté pan while you wait! DEFINITELY insist on the homemade pasta($ 1.75 extra)… Ask him to go a little«light» on the salad dressing…(each pasta dish comes with a small salad and great bread from the North End bakery– I forget the name) Our favorites so far are anything with shrimp… the puttanesca… the chicken and eggplant parm combo… the francese… the garlic bread with or without cheese… In fact – Anything we’ve had has been great – which is why we keep going back and we try something new each time. Never disappointed… Excellent dinner for 2 for around 30 bucks – Awesome!

Been eating here for past 6 years. sometimes twice day. I just realized I never reviewed this Place. Subs are awesome. Chicken Caprese, Italian Sub and Chicken Cacciatore sub are my favs. Best authentic pastas. few ingredients and simple. Chicken Picatta and Chicken Pesto are must try… It used to be 5 min walk from my place. and Now I am moving to Watertown. I am gonna miss this place.

Alfredo’s is one the most delicious hidden gems that Boston has to offer. This tiny italian kitchen(because let’s face it, a kitchen is pretty much all it is) has only a couple seats to eat in house but no matter where you eat Alfredo’s you won’t be disappointed! While the gnocchi and tortellini are delicious, I literally dream about Alfredo’s chicken piccatta with homemade pasta. In fact, I think i’ll order some tonight.

My first bite into my calzone I almost chipped my tooth and cut my tongue on a STAPLE in the middle of it. I called to let the restaurant know and it went straight to voicemail saying they were closed today… when I had just received my order 10 minutes prior. Will NEVER be ordering from here again.

Having eaten at Alfredo’s several times since my first review, I am updating my rating from 3 to 4 stars. Although my first experience at Alfredo’s was less than stellar(see previous review), every subsequent experience has been great. The food that I have had since my first visit has all been really good. As an aside, I highly recommend ordering the homemade pasta(it’s only an additional $ 1.75). Tidbits: –Sauces I’ve had & would recommend: alfredo, bolognese, & pesto. –Try the garlic bread with cheese($ 3)

Alfredo, the sweetest old man, invites you into his personal kitchen. He makes the pasta and dresses it to perfection. The Eggplant parm is juicy yet contained between two slices of toasted sub, the pasta pesto is creamy and seasoned tastefully, the pasta puttanesca satisfies and keeps you full for a while. This place should not be overlooked because of its size. Going to Alfredo’s feels like a guilty pleasure. Also: try the espresso. I’d say it’s the best espresso in Boston(even better than those fancy downtown coffee shops).

Do Not order the Bruschetta. Ive only ordered their cheesesteaks and bruschetta so far. Cheesesteak is subpar, «subway tastes better.» Whatever you get just don’t order bruschetta. I am in no way bashing on this restaurant since I have limited experience with food here, but I seriously do not recommend the bruschetta. It is crude with poorly made with large sliced french bread thats slightly burnt; has large chunks of tomato and cheese which looks and tastes bland and boring. Then there is also this vinaigrette sloshed all over it for whatever reason which doesn’t help. All in all you can make your own that tastes 50x better with some bread, tomatoes, salt&pep, oil n vinegar, No joke

I love great hole in the walls. I was working and craving pasta. I’ve been to Carlos but my latest visit to them left me disappointed so I decided to give Alfredo’s a try. Looking at all the rave reviews I was like«I gotta try me some of this!» So I called for pick up and a man with a lovely italian accent answered. I asked for the chicken carbonara and at first I said with linguine but he said he made pasta from scratch! How could I pass on that?! This guy is a one man show and he does it well. The pasta was delicious. Perfectly seasoned. Perfect perfect. He had asked me «do you want anything else?» And I paused because I wanted everything but now that I’m down the street, I will be trying a lot more things on his menu! There’s a reason why Alfredo’s has so many raving reviews. This dude is legit. LEGIT.

I’m in town for the time being and was looking for a little Italian food and turned to Unilocal for help. So I went here with the family after a phone call to see if they had eat-in eating and was told yes. As I pull up I noticed just a couple of table there and thought hmmmm welp were here lets go in, so as we entered we were greeted by the owner himself(who I was calling Alfredo Alfredo) who was pleasant, after a couple of minutes we were ready to order we ordered the cavatelli pesto garlic with chicken which is home made cavatellis and was amazing 2up, cheese ravioli with a light pink sauce another 2up just the right amount and lastly linguini with meatballs all were just amazing this guy has a hidden gem here people. Now if u have not been here come on by and if u have-well u know how it is. Till next time Unilocal-ON

I really like this place and it’s super cheap BUT since it’s ran by one guy, they aren’t always open. I would give this place a solid 4 stars but I’ve walked there numerous times during their normal business hours and he was closed! However, if you do happen to catch them open the pizza is great and the meatballs are a must! You can definitely tell he makes everything homemade! This place is worth trying for it’s homemade food plus you’re helping out a local business!

I ordered out from here… although I have walked by and seen how tiny the shop is. I ordered a chicken broccoli fettuchine in a white sauce, and a garlic bread. However, they told me i needed $ 15 for takeout. I added in a diet coke. They delivered in good time, and the food was still hot when I got it. The garlic bread was very good. nothing special but I definitely would order it again. The serving of pasta was HUGE… enough to last me at least 4 more meals. The chicken could have been cut a little smaller, and the broccoli a little bigger. Overall the taste and flavor was just right. It certainly wasn’t too creamy, which is how I like it. I can’t really comment on the consistency because I got it delivered. it was pooled at the bottom and not spread evenly when I ate it. Great service, and great pasta! Great for a night in on a snowy night :)
