This place is down a random alley and can be a bit difficult to find, but once you find the alley it’s hard to miss. The place is a very large size, especially for downtown. It’s clearly meant to be a quick lunch spot. I tried their gyro today and was a bit underwhelmed. It was decent but a little small. The meat itself is pretty well-seasoned but dry. The veggies, sauce and pita are pretty run of the mill. Nothing really note worthy. I will say that the staff here is pretty friendly. I know my review really doesn’t say much but that’s exactly how I feel about this place. Nothing special here.

I miss Archies! I used to come here at least 3 times a week when I was working in Pi Alley. The owner is so friendly and always took great care of me. Sometimes he would make special sauces for me when I ordered fish. I usually got the turkey tips with salad and rice. HUGE portions for a great price. The salmon was always very good and in the mornings I always got an egg-white wrap with veggies and feta and it was always perfect. The staff is awesome and the line always moves quick. They take level-up which is great too. Archies I miss you! Hope all is well!

One of the best breakfast and lunch spots in the city. Food is always fantastic and the staff is the best. Wish they had more locations!

Decent food. I have had the Gyro and the Times Square Sandwiches. The Gyro was piled with meat and well seasoned, I was really happy with this. The taste was great. The Times Square was a run of the mill Pastrami, but it was just what I was craving. Nice local spot and very friendly staff.

Never had a bad breakfast or lunch here. I would say the lamb shank is my go to. The people that work there are great too.

I almost walked by this place because it looks dated and kind of run down, but a quick check on Unilocal made me reconsider. I’ve been in training for the week in Downtown Crossing and there are a lot of places to choose from to eat at, but many are variations on sandwiches or some crappy Asian mall food, so when I saw Greek food, I was happy that I might not have to have another sandwich. I ordered their chicken kabob with rice and a salad. The chicken doesn’t look great, bit it was pretty tasty, about a whole big breasts worth, the salad is standard(not Greek salad, just bag salad, and a lot of it), and rice pilaf. The rice is a little oily, but you only really notice when looking at the bottom of your plate. Overall, if I’m in the area again for lunch, I’d consider dropping by for a bite to eat.

literally every single time I’ve walked into Archie’s I’m greeted by everyone behind the counter. The people who work here are seriously so nice and friendly I always leave a little happier. I usually go for their Breakfast & Lunch specials, which never disappoint. They give VERY generous portions and prepare all your food with a smile. They let me try samples of their specials before deciding what I want, which a lot of places I’ve been to don’t do. Their grilled salmon lunch special is always on point. $ 9 for grilled salmon, rice pilaf, AND a salad?! amazing.

Huge portions for a hot lunch in a little out-of-the way cafeteria-style place. I like the salmon a lot, but I tried the steak tips yesterday and didn’t like the sauce(was it barbecue?) they were cooked with. Usually they’re out of potatoes by the time I get there so I end up with rice pilaf instead, but I would prefer the potatoes. The vegetables are strictly ordinary, frozen and heated up(carrots, corn, green beans, peas) and I don’t care much for the very ordinary salad as an alternative, either — bland iceberg lettuce with a few bits of tomato and julienned carrots. The dressing offerings are okay, though, and kind of make up for the bland salad. I would rather they cut down on portion size and lowered the prices to compensate — I can never finish my meal and I’d rather have less food than pay $ 9.50 for lunch. Décor is nothing special — cafeteria-style seating and a linoleum floor. Staff is friendly and nice; they always greet me when I come in. If I want a hot lunch, and am really hungry, I will stop in here.

I feel fortunate to be leaving the Downtown Crossing area for work for many reasons. One is the drunks everywhere. Another is the food options. The past 3 times I’ve ordered a salad with grilled chicken and Greek dressing, they didn’t give me the dressing(the best part!). But I did get wilted lettuce, yellow tomatoes and a tiny sprinkle of feta. I’m done with this place.

Archie’s Place is pretty good — the food is made to order, and it’s nice to have a spot in the city where you can get something without carbs and a microwave. The staff is friendly and the place is clean albiet kind of cafeteria-esque. That said, it’s way overpriced IMO. $ 8 for a veggie omelet is too much, especially when it’s served in a styrofoam container with a plastic fork. The omelet is good — cooked well and satisfying. but not $ 8-oh-and-please-overlook-the-disposable-dishware good. I’d come here in a pinch, but unless the prices come down a bit, there are better options nearby.

This place is a very solid lunch spot. The chicken kabob with rice and salad is really good, filling, and a great deal at $ 7.95. The folks working here are always super friendly. My only complaint is that fairly often the vegetables are really, really overlooked to the point of being a non option to substitute for the rice. Good downtown crossing lunch spot.

The pros… interesting selection albeit overpriced, and the staff is friendly. Wow, I cannot believe what I just paid for. I actually wanted to cancel the chicken parm sub I ordered because someone else ordered it and I saw what they were getting… one non-pan fried chicken cutlet with a little cheese and flavorless sauce chopped up and stuffed in a sub roll… for $.7.45. I just got back to the office, figured hey, I should at least taste it… and it tastes like flavorless crap. I have to be strong here because I feel like I just threw away my money and I have to eat what I just paid for since it would be a COMPLETE waste of my money. I will never go back here after this experience. Maybe if the sub tasted good, maybe if they gave me my money’s worth, but no they didn’t. I can actually see why a lot of older people frequent this place because they probably don’t have a lot of flavor or spices in their food so it doesn’t upset more sensitive stomachs so if that is your thing, this is your place.

One my fave downtown options(located in Pi Alley off of Washington Street)…where can you get a grilled salmon(generous portion) with salad for under $ 9?! The line moves fast –even faster than some fast food places in town. They have tons of lunch options — from sandwiches to plated meals. Thus far, I tried the following and have been pleased: Grilled chicken kabob with salad and rice — moist chicken and flavorful rice Baked haddock — nice balance of bread crumb and butter Mac and Cheese — cheesy and creamy

When I saw the menu I was hoping to find a Bob’s or a Dom’s sausage factory near my work, but we didn’t quite get there. Solid eats. I didn’t get anything fancy, just turkey tips. What I got was turkey tips marinated in ah-so sauce, good rice pilaf, and pita. I don’t go to Bob’s or Dom’s for anything elaborate either, but they definitely manage to beat this place pretty easily. I’m sure I’ll be back, but there are a lot more exciting lunch spots in the area that I’ll have to burn through first. If you’re a plain eater and just want something solid, safe, and inoffensive, this seems like a reliable place.

Amazing! My boyfriend and I went here for breakfast because it was near our hotel. The line was long but it went by quickly. They have a plethora of breakfast foods for a pretty affordable price. You can get a pretty solid breakfast for just $ 6. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on wheat and my boyfriend ordered a pepper & onion omelet. The food was prepped pretty quickly and it came out really good. The bacon was so juicy and the portion size was good. My boyfriend liked his omelet, his only complaint was that the peppers and onions weren’t chopped up enough. The chunks were too big. Overall, great place. If I’m ever in Boston again, I’ll definitely be back.

I really liked Archie’s. We went there for breakfast and it was a nice find. The breakfasts aren’t huge but they aren’t expensive. The place is clean and it’s located on Pi Alley, a funny little alley that’s easy to miss. The people working at Archie’s are friendly, and tourists will enjoy the accents and attitude that the locals won’t even notice. Look for this place, it’s a fun little breakfast stop that would be hard to reproduce anywhere else.

I haven’t been here in months due to a new job outside the area. However, they are the friendliest staff you will ever meet! Breakfast or lunch, you won’t be disappointed. Sometimes I would go there just for a breakfast sandwich or omelette and have been pleased every time. For lunch, it is the turkey tips! Delicious! They pile on the salad and rice pilaf too which you usually can’t finish– not complaining! I would definitely be back if i was closer!

Damn but they make a hearty lunch plate. Certainly on par with Falafel King or 68 Chinese( ) in regards to sheer volume on your plate/styrofoam platter, this place is a heavy hitter in the lunch department. Somehow, there is never a line during the noon hour – maybe because everyone is next door at Viga? Viga’s good too, but I’m a bit nonplussed whenever I stop in here and enjoy zero wait time. I enjoy the stuffed grape leaves(sorry vegetarians, the beef kind) as a rule, and it comes with salad and a side. You can go the rice pilaf route, or maybe get some mashed potatoes to round out your starches – er, waist line. Prices are reasonable-around $ 7 or $ 8 for an entrée. They have LevelUp here, so get your credits. If I’m being good, I’ll only eat here once a month or so, but who likes being good?

One of my favorite places to come for breakfast or lunch during the work week! First things first. they are so nice. For awhile I was going in a few times a week for French toast, side of bacon… then I changed it up and they noticed!(love that). The guys making the food are really friendly and the woman who does the register is my favorite. She never makes you feel rushed and always is smiling. My breakfast choice is obviously the French toast. It is the best I have found in the area and you get a lot for your money. I have tried their breakfast sandwiches which are equally yummy! For lunch I loooove the turkey tips. I don’t know what they marinade them in, but its amazing. It comes with rice and salad, not just a little either, I usually can’t finish it all. They have a great selection of food, I just eat the same things over and over. Trust me, they’re good.
