The produce is fresh and delicious and it’s right on the Ashmont T Station! It’s small in comparison to larger city markets, but that makes it friendly and accessible. I LOVE walking up to the market on Friday afternoons! This year is the best yet, with Tavolo Ristorante bringing homemade pasta sauces, Cedar Grove flowers, fresh fish and lots of delish veggies and fruits :)

Great prices, friendly people. So glad this market is in my neighborhood. It’s small, but it’s here in Dorchester where I live, and the produce is excellent! What’s good varies from year to year and week to week. This week’s find was fantastic Heirloom tomatoes and the best cantaloupe, hands down, I have ever eaten. I shared it with a friend and she loved it as much as I did! I also bought Apple Cider bread, which was delicious. The market has moved since last year. It is now located right next to the Ashmont T Station. Neighborhood buzz is this is supposed to help increase foot traffic to the market(and I hope it does) but makes parking more difficult. I had to park semi-illegally a couple blocks away. Next time maybe I’ll bicycle! I arrived around 6:30 and it was still going strong. Market is open July 9th through October. Editing my review to say that the Web site says free parking is available at the former location which is not far at all. That parking lot is at the Odwin Learning Center, 1943 Dorchester Ave.

What a wonderful neighborhood resource. Farm fresh produce @ reasonable prices, here in Dorchester. And right across for the Ashmont T. Give it a try.

This is a perfectly respectable, small farmers’ market. There are 8 – 15 vendors, depending on the weather, and they mostly sell raw produce and flowers(some markets have people who also sell dairy or baked goods). We’ve found a nice variety of herbs and some wonderfully unusual vegetables(purple cauliflower!) People are friendly and helpful. The market is still getting its feet under it, but we’ll keep supporting it. It’s across the street from the T station, but if you need to drive to it, you can park in the Ashmont Tire lot.

Love it even better now because the Dot Arts collaborative has a booth and artists are selling every week. Plus, more vendors are coming and the offerings are getting better. And fresh flowers from Cedar Grove makes my weekend.

Fresh fruits and veggies at good prices! It’s worthwhile to walk around and compare prices and quality before you buy anything. I recommend waiting until at least 3:30pm since they have not been completely set up by 3pm on the two days I’ve shopped. Some stands are prepared to give receipts to those of us shopping for charities that require receipts for reimbursement, and others are not but willing to jot something down if you provide paper and pen.
