Auntie Vie’s Bakery Cafe

The food here taste like home. Johnny Cakes, goat water and salt fish. Auntie Vie’s is a Friday must for me.

I randomly stopped by this place the other day and I was not disappointed! The food was delicious and customer service was good. I’ve been out of Dorchester for over 10 years so I’m happy to see that they have such a great restaurant in the center. Beats going to KFC across the street.

I stopped in for the first time last night around 8:30PM. They were closing but Aunt Vie’s niece welcomed me and brought me into the restaurant.
Aunt Vie and the other ladies greeted me and treated me like family!
I ordered two large BBQ chicken dinners that were large enough to serve four people!
When I mentioned the curry goat, Aunt Vie went over and offered me a sampling.
The food was delicious! The meal came with rice and a cabbage and carrot side which was also flavorful and nicely seasoned and prepared.
I ordered a slice of carrot cake which was moist and delicious!
Thank you for such a warm and kind greeting, I felt like family and look forward to trying your other homemade specials!
I highly recommend this neighborhood hidden gem! Thank you Aunt Vie!

Great goat curry, kingfish is excellent too. Two dishes that are the basics. Great, Aunty!

Quite possibly, the best chicken BBQ ever! The place is low-​key and simple, but the food and desserts are superb. Try the creamy mac and cheese or get a slice of pie or cake to go with it. Auntie delivers! More people should know about this place, the Boston Police certainly does.

During the holidays I always wind up picking up something from Auntie Vie’s Bakery. My girlfriend loves their Pineapple pie. The Red Velvet Cake they make is delectable.
The Coconut Drops they make blow me away. When it comes down to any holiday’s I do what I can to get something from Auntie Vie’s.

Having tried the pineapple pie and coconut turnover, I knew Auntie Vie could make a mean dessert. However, I was unprepared to the delectable lunch had for takeout today. It took my appreciation for soul food to a different level.
The chicken was dripping in sweet BBQ sauce. The mac and cheese was moist and fresh, collard greens were well flavored, and my first experience with pistachio cake was a big hit. The only drawback was the extra excitement of having homemade hot sauce. Be careful with that stuff! Hot sauce lovers will appreciate the flavor it brings when used in appropriate quantities.
I always bring one of her holiday treats to family gatherings and can’t wait to go back!
