Back Bay Dog Walking

Terrible experience, highly unreliable.
The dogwalker lost my keys and the owner (Tracy) simply sent a text, not even a call, saying they are sorry but lost the keys so can’t walk my dog. Did not even answer when I called back to try to find an alternative (key pickup?) since I was stuck in a meeting all day. It took her months to eventually reply to my email complaint and she did not even offer anything to try to make up for this. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Bad experience with this company. The final straw was that they didn’t show up one day. When I contacted the owner (Tracy) asking why they didn’t come, she said that the woman who walks my dog was out of town and the owner got confused about the schedule because she was out of town the week before. It was concerning that they didn’t coordinate coverage for vacation time and didn’t tell me the regular walker would be away. Tracy told me that I should be understanding because they were a small company.
Some background: The day Tracy (the owner) first came to meet me and my dog, she told me my dog would be walked by someone who really liked dogs but had never been a dog walker. This concerned me both because it was a surprise and because I had told Tracy that my dog would growl and pull at other dogs and I wanted someone with experience. We walked around together with my dog and both Tracy and the woman who would actually walk my dog said that it would be fine because he was a small dog and would be on a private walk. It simply took avoiding other dogs. In the course of just three weeks, they didn’t respond to emails and texts several times until I re-​sent my messages. But really the central problem was not showing up. When I told Tracy I wouldn’t be using her company anymore, she said that she felt they had been helpful to begin with by even taking my dog because he was bad with other dogs. This despite regular notes from the walker that my dog was doing fine and it wasn’t a problem.

When I first moved to the south end I was nervous because I was leaving my dog walker of 4.5 years. I started going to Peter’s Park in preparation for my move from Beacon Hill and to scout out the dog walkers in the area. I eventually determined that the best dog walker for my two dogs was Tracy and Back Bay Dog Walking.
Tracy and her team engage the dogs and don’t just sit around and talk on the phone like some walkers. They are attentive and make sure the dogs are safe and having fun. She even brings toys and balls for the dogs to share. Back Bay Dog Walking is a great company and I would recommend them to everyone.

Tracy treats my dog like he’s her own! She is so good with him and whenever I come home, he is good and tired from his play group. Tracy always lets me know if there is a conflict and she is really flexible when I have to change my schedule. Tracy has even taken my dog overnight and I love knowing how well he will be taken care of. She is also great at giving me updates and texts about my doggie and I love seeing the pics she puts up on her Facebook page so I can see what my buddy is doing all day. Tracy is fabulous!

I was drawn to Back Bay Dog Walking because Tracy promises that she will never walk more than three dogs at a time and won’t tie up your dog outside while she gets the other dogs. This is really important to me because I want to know that someone is really looking after my dog when I am not there!
Chelsea walks my dog, Pula, and I couldn’t be happier (nor could Pula). Chelsea is so kind and sweet to Pula and is just a wonderful person in general. She has also kept Pula for overnight stays when I have been away. Pula gets so much love and attention. Chelsea keeps in constant contact about Pula (texts and picture updates) and I can get in touch with her very easily. They are also incredibly flexible with scheduling walks; sometimes I need to switch the days during the week that Pula needs walks, and Chelsea is always accommodating.
I am VERY picky about who I let take care of Pula. I even get nervous when leaving her with very competent family and friends. I never worry about Pula when she is with Chelsea or Tracy.
Back Bay Dog Walking is excellent. If you are looking for a dog walker in the area, I encourage you to meet with Tracy. You will like her right away, and so will your dog!

Back Bay Dog Walking is the ideal situation for city dwellers. Brady, my beagle, is very much so my child. I love my dog and I want him to have the very best care. Whether its just a day at the park, or a week of at home care, Tracy from Back Bay Dog Walking gives Brady the biggest amount of love and attention! Its almost like she considers your dog, her dog. Its hard for me to trust people with Brady… I never think they will treat him the way I would… but I trust Tracy! Shes very on top of things and she provides the ideal type of pet care for your loved dog!!!
