Were in need of a place we could walk to after our game at one of the colleges in the area. This was a stones throw away. Perfect. Couple beers and some great stories always makes a great night. Bertucci’s is always consistent but this location looked a little higher class than a few that I’ve been to. We sat at what looked like a wine bar but yet we had beer. lol… If I’m in that area again I have my go to libation location.

While waiting for our meal, I wiped the table with my own wet wipe and it came up filthy. If the tables are this dirty, what is the cleanliness level of the kitchen?

It’s 10 after 11:00AM… have yet to see a host or hostess and employees keep walking by as if we don’t exist.

I had many unsatisfying meals here before I learned what to order. Now, I stick with what I know is good(the farmhouse salad!) the rolls are awesome and they have decent wine picks. The service for the most part is pretty horrific but occasionally you get a good one.

The restaurant itself is need of a facelift. Ordered the Porkies Pizza, with sausage. Mozzarella and ricotta cheese. The sausage was the only thing that had any taste. There wasn’t enough mozzarella and the red sauce came right out of the can. And to top it off it was cold. I’m not a big fan of Olive Garden but this place is 2 steps below.

My family and I ate at Bertuccis following a very long and stressful day at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The food was very good and the service was ok. However, what really made this a 4-star experience was when the chef personally delivered our food and then came back when my mom’s pasta was not made the way she had asked. We had a long drive back to our home so said it was ok and didn’t need to be remade but he took the pasta off the bill and gave us free desserts as well. Customer service like this is far a few between these days, so I highly applaud the staff at Bertuccis for raising the bar!

Update. Following my initial poor review, this location has made great strides in their take-out/delivery department. Whatever they did, I applaud the change. After my first review, where the employee was flat out rude, the employees who’ve since answered the phone have done so with utmost tact and politeness. I want to be frank and fair in this update. I admit I formerly lived in a smaller New England city well known for it’s restaurants and may unfairly have the same expectations of Boston. But at the same time this is Boston; why can’t Boston be known for it’s food? In summary, nice improvement; I appreciate the effort and I’m sure others do too. Please continue the trend Bertucci’s.

I made a single order over the phone to clarify that the credit card went through, and the man that I spoke to said, «what do you mean by that. go through?» Look– I know it’s not rocket science on my end to submit an order. I wanted to explain further, but you didn’t seem interested. I’m doing a favor for my students, co-workers by making this order. I even suggested to order from you because of your proximity at work. But if you can’t keep your cool or just do the extra work to be polite over the phone, it’s hard to want to do business with you. Phone courtesy is PART of the job. I hate it, too. Trust, when I speak to people over the phone and they don’t make sense. But part of what I hope would be a priority of Bertucci is the customer service they provide — either in person or over the phone. It’s not just supposed to be about the food but the service, as well. But what can I expect, it’s a chain. So, my rant is probably worth less to nothing.

INCREDIBLE wait staff and excellent food. We were skeptical about sitting in the bar area, but we were greeted with hot bread which convinced us to stay. I ordered the eggplant pomodoro with spaghetti and a salad, my boyfriend had the spinach and strawberry salad. Both were wonderful! For dessert, we ordered the chocolate mousse parfait. It was delightful. We later added a slice of chocolate layered cake(also delicious). Overall, wonderful experience. We will be back soon

This place is overpriced for lunch and the food is mediocre. My colleague and I each ordered a rigatoni dish with sausage and peppers — didn’t see a single pepper and there were four tiny pieces of sausage. Seriously, I had to look for them under the pasta. Keep in mind this is a «lunch special» for about $ 10. I told the manager I had a problem paying $ 10 for a bowl of pasta — she asked if we wanted more sausage and we said yes, we would, but when she brought it over she was snooty. The place is a rip-off — the one thing it has going for it is good rolls.

Stopped in for lunch and they had a lot of good choices on the lunch menu alone! I went with four cheese ravioli and it was great! The unlimited bread was soft and warm inside with a crisp exterior, and the salad was fresh, crispy, and chilled! Delicious! Would love to stop in again sometime! The service was friendly and quick as well!

As someone from California, I had never heard of Bertucci’s until I came to Boston. This is the first and only location that I’ve been to, so I can compare it to other Bertucci’s, but I will say that it reminded me a lot of the Olive Garden chain restaurants. The food: 3 stars. As others have mentioned, they have nice warm bread rolls with a olive oil with herbs. It wasn’t phenomenal, but better than most bread at other chains. The roasted mushroom and asiago pizza was too salty for me, but the crust was not bad. I also tried the rigatoni, broccoli, and chicken with the lemon garlic cream sauce. The grilled chicken was actually quite good. However, the«cream» sauce was very watery and overly lemon-y. The service/atmosphere: Our waitress was very attentive and helpful, and it seemed like a nice, casual place to hang out with friends after a day at work or school. However, this did not much make up for lacking in the food department, so I don’t see myself coming back anytime soon.

Another great park-your-dog-outside-you-can-always-see-him-parked-outside place. Came here on a bitter cold night and ordered some pasta maranara and some rolls. I asked for a lot of rolls, apparently 3 is «a lot», though I beg to differ as a carbohydrate lover. Pasta was hot and tasty and service was friendly!

The place to go if you’re in the Longwood Medical Area looking for somewhere to host a large group or if you have a craving for Italian. Closest thing to fine dining in Longwood. LMA for the most part is devoid of restaurants except for Bertucci’s or Best Western Hotel’s Longwood Grille. With a group of 10, we were easily seated. All 10 orders came out piping hot at the same time, which was impressive. On the slightly pricier end, expect $ 15+ with tax and tip for standard tasting Italian food. Recommend the Cod Al Forno if you’re looking for portion control, if you want to deviate from pasta, and if you’re looking for something seafood related. Comes in a cute brown ceramic plate with sides of potatoes and cod, sitting in fish oil that oozed out, garnished with some herbs. The cod had no taste of seasonings or flavoring, beckoning you to add some salt.

This restaurant is located near Harvard Medical School and Children’s Hospital in Boston. We were in that area to attend our son’s Ph.D. dissertation defense(he passed!), and we had a short time for lunch before dashing across town to other related ceremonies and celebrations. We were a party of 7 and had a short time. This is not an ideal situation: we were rushed, demanding, and hungry. Bertucci’s accommodated us immediately, got us seated/menus/orders/served all very quickly. Food was delicious. Fast to get the check and get us out of there and on our way. We had what everyone else has: pizza, pasta, large salads. I am on a diet to lose weight, and I appreciated that I could get a large salad with protein(salmon) on it. Delicious and perfectly done. Prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is that of any good chain restaurant, you don’t go for the atmosphere. Still, pleasant, clean, friendly. We mentioned our celebration occasion to the waitress. She responded that many customers are there because of the hospitals, and therefore she serves people experiencing both tragedy and happiness, so she must be professional and not ask too many questions. Really interesting. I appreciated her work! I would definitely return here and recommend it.

We found our selves in Children’s Hospital last week and needed lunch one day. We all know and love Bertucci’s so our decision was easily made. No guessing needed. We called in our order and was told 20 min for pick up. No prob. so I headed across the st to pick up lunch perfectly happy to wait a few min because I was early. I walked in and the place was packed! soooo Busy. I went up the the counter gave the girl my name and she handed me my bag… whoa! that was fast! Every thing was correct and good and hot. definitely recommended if you find your self in the the Longwood area.

Their rolls kind of sucked and isn’t that *the whole point* of going to Bertucci’s? Even later when I asked for a couple of rolls to go w/our left overs the quality was horrible. Otherwise the food was good but why was it so overpriced? The waitress was nice.

Although there are a few entrees, this place specializes(as the name suggests) in pizza, and the menu includes several family oriented extras such as sharable salads. In keeping with this focus, the atmosphere is of a family restaurant, with a small bar area to the right behind a divider. The selection of named pizzas(e.g. Hawaiian) is a dozen or so, and should cover most tastes, but if you want to build-your-own the price goes up fairly quickly. I ordered a calzone, which in contrast is conveniently customizable with any three fillings. A variety of fire-roasted vegetables are available, and I chose portobello mushrooms, accompanied by prosciutto and meatballs. Sauce, ricotta and mozza come standard. The filling was ample and gooey, and the dough was excellent… not charred/dry/overcooked, and not rubbery/wet/undercooked. The tomato sauce draped on top was fresh tasting, and sufficient to get a good bit with every bite of the calzone(but didn’t make it soggy). Overall, top notch calzone. The only disappoint was the«Angry Apple» seasonal cocktail based on Samuel Adams’ hard cider… stick with pop or beer.

Today, we had a party of 4 going there for lunch right around noon. The wait was 15 minutes. After we were sat down our waitress quickly took our drink orders and food as well. We were in a hurry so we were happy to see things were running efficiently. Soon after, she came back with drinks and rolls. Got our food in 20 minutes and it was hot. Good place for lunch if you are in a hurry but wants to sit down. The medical area sucks for food so this is a better alternative then most. Food quality was alright. It’s like an Olive Garden but with a lot LESS sodium and butter. Thank God!
