A return visit to seek his advice again was a completely different story. We must write off the first experience to him having a bad day. He really is a smarty pants and gives thoughtful consideration as a second opinion for spinal fusion surgery. I was too quick to judge.

Do not look any further than Dr. Kwon if you have any sort of spinal-related health issues. He is the best around. One would think that because he is a surgeon, he might be a little trigger happy when it comes to cutting people open, but that could not be farther from the truth. He is the best kind of surgeon – one who advises his patients to exercise all non-surgical options first, and only when it becomes evident that surgery is necessary, does he go down that road. My family has dealt with Dr. Kwon for a little over two years now – during which time we tried all non-surgical avenues before finally going down that path. I am so so thankful that he was my father’s surgeon. He is experienced, precise, and has THE best bedside manner of any doctor I have ever met. After surgery, he came to the ICU and sat with my family for 15 minutes. Most of the chatter was surgery-related, but the fact that he came and sat down and asked my father and my mother and sister how they were is amazing to me. Can you imagine how busy he must be? I haven’t seen such a thing happen in my entire life. He even moved my father’s bed for him when he expressed discomfort! I feel like most doctors would bring in a nurse to do such things. Thanks to Dr. Kwon, my father is well on his way to recovery. In my book, he is a real-life superhero!
