Farewell, Burritos Express :(It was nice knowing you… This place had decent burritos, a nice«fish roll up», and a GREAT chicken quesadilla plate loaded with fresh guac… unfortunately when I went by there today there was a sign on the door saying the property had been seized.

This place has the WORST burritos ever! I would give it negative stars if that was an option. I ordered a steak burrito. How can you go wrong with a burrito??? It was cold. And the burrito bread used was so stale that it was crispy and I could break it!

After I read all the reviews here for this Burrito place, all I can say is that I am extremely disappointed. Not only they took forever in complete my order, they did it wrong and they had to re-do it(asked for a chicken burrito but it had no chicken after all). I needed this on-the-go since I was on my break and they seem to not understand when you’re in a hurry. The burrito, after I got my correct one, was just OK. It had way too much«filler» ingredients(Lettuce and Rice are considered burrito fillers IMO and seem that they had mistaken me for a rabbit). and the taste was OK. It was definitely not worth the wait and the hassle. I have yet to find an outstanding quick burrito in the Downtown Boston area. Any ideas?

This place has great burritos! I’ve tried the bean & cheese(Veggie) as well as the chicken both are outstanding! Been hear many times when I worked near by. Glad to see their getting the ratings they deserve. *good service* as well(Super rare in Mass.)

This place has the most underrated burrito in Boston. The burrito al pastor is huge, delicious, and they serve them up fast. While it’s no Anna’s(mostly just appearance for those who can’t identify authenticity if it slaps them in the face) and there are extraneous menu items, the burritos and tacos are fantastic. If you work in the neighborhood, skip the corporate experience and get real.

A hidden gem with decent portions.

The burritos here are HUGE. and TASTY. I always favor the authentic mom and pop stores. There’s a subtle taste of sweat and authenticity you cant find in the chains(Chipotle, boloco, etc).

It was pretty good. The chicken burrito I had was enormous and had trouble staying together despite my attempts to gently hold it wrapped in its aluminum skin at my desk. The end result was some drippings come dangerously close to ruining my pants, but no harm no foul. The taste was good – the chicken possibly a bit on the greasy side but all in all it was $ 6 well spent. I think Anna’s and Boca Grande are better, IMHO, but I would visit again as it’s a solid filling lunch option right next to my office.

I’d give this 2.5 stars. I think their menu is really confused — they seem to serve mexican, subs, ad other generic items. It’s difficult to read since it’s printed in 3 different fonts, and they’ve all been squished vertically to fit the huge number of items on the board. The store is somewhat unclean-looking. The burrito itself was somewhat tasty, and totally enormous. It had a lot of lettuce in it. I dunno, it’s no Anna’s. The range of hot sauces they provide at the tables is nice.

It’s not high-quality Mexican, but it’s cheap, fast, and plentiful. And they have the most delicious and perfectly crispy fries.

A good friend of mine introduced me to this place, secreted amongst the more prominent signs for surrounding eateries. I never would have come here on my own — I just rarely gravitated to this nook of Downtown Boston food. Gah! Would I have missed the best lunch-time Mexican I’ve had in Boston! The hearty meals here(I tend to stick with the special of the day) often remind me of the frequent dinners I had at my generous Mexican neighbor’s table for years. Especially if you’ve got the tiniest of hankerings for whilst desperately trying to decide where to go with your officemates — you not be sorry you came(okay, there’s always a chance one of the doltish one’ll just choose the opposite of what s/he likes, but… what’re you going to do about that one anyway, yea?). This week’s winning Mexican-homestyle-as-only-a-non-Mexican-would-know-it lunch: The steak falutas!

Large portions of okay quality, incredibly substantial Mexican food for good prices. It’s not assembly-line style Mexican like Anna’s/Boca/Chipotle/etc., so it’s not quite as fast, but it’s still under five minutes to get your food. The tacos and burritos are substantial in either meat or veggie varieties, but it’s the quesadillas that always really stick out in my mind.(Or is that my gut?) We’re talking a heaping, coma-inducing amount of cheese and tortilla served in a to-go tray with a big pile of tasty guacamole for just over seven bucks. It’s not going to win any awards but it’s a perfect place to eat that big lunch you know you’ve earned. Be sure to slather your food in their large selection of hot sauces on the way out! Yum.

Perfect no frills Mexican lunch spot atmosphere serving money chicken burritos(be sure and get guac). Borderline 5 stars, but I don’t throw around 5 stars that easy. For 8 buck burrito — solid 4 star Mexican food in Boston

This place has solid food. I noticed it when eating at Hot Tomatoes. Nothing fancy. The menu is extensive, and there wasn’t a line during prime lunch hour. It’s cheap, portions are more than sufficient. The woman at the counter was super friendly and helped me out deciding what to order. I ended up with the enchiladas with red sauce. Delicious. Not overly greasy, Huge plate with seasoned rice and black beans. Free side of guacamole… try getting that elsewhere. Skip the lines at your normal lunch spot and check this place out.

Pretty good Mexican food Pretty good Prices Pretty good servings Pretty, pretty, pretttttty good. Seriously though, this is a serviceable Mexican restaurant for downtown, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here. I will agree that the Fish rollup(Basically a filet of fish with lettuce, pico de gallo, and chile mayo) is a nice change of pace, although there is nothing mexican about it. It comes with some delicious Spicy fries which are always cooked to order.

I agree with someone else who wrote that these burritos are HUGE… GIGANTIC even… Got the chicken burrito with nothing extra. Tasty. I went for a quick lunch, and that’s what I got. I also got a big belly. On par with downtown prices. The staff is extremely kind. Looking forward to going back and giving the tacos a whirl.

INEXPENSIVE. We used to go for the $ 3 burgers and fries here. Yeah, nothing to write home about, but great for those on a budget. The Mexican food itself was just OK. A bit greasy. Easy in and easy out. They have a few tables for seating. It was convenient to work, so we’d go here often enough.

Good local place to grab a large filling burrito for lunch. Taste is good but not great. It seems to lack more intense flavors and a little kick or spice. They do not scrimp on ingredients or size but sour cream and guacamole are extra. In total a burrito comes with rice and beans, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, and a type of meat… with the sour cream and guacamole cost will run you in the $ 8+ range. They have quite a large menu of other items but I can only comment on the Burrito which from there the restaurant’s name, is their main thing.

1 star added because this is now«in the rotation» for the Fish Rollup. I’ve had a few of these now and I’ve been well pleased by them. The french fries are totally unhealthy but pretty good as well.

YUM! I came here expecting another mediocre burrito and walked out impressed. Can we talk about how nice the service is? Since moving out here I’ve become numb to service where the person can’t be bothered to look at you none-the-less smile, but here I was greeted with both. And my heart grew two sizes that day. Yikes. Assuming that was a fluke I was pleasantly surprised on visit two to be greeted with yet another smile and a joke! My mid-western sensibilities were pleased. I ordered the simplest burrito, bean and cheese, and was completely blown away. Not only is the damn thing HUGE but it is so tasty. The tortilla is soft yet firm enough to keep everything contained and the filling was piping hot. There wasn’t enough rice to completely drown out the rest of the ingredients but what was there was soft and fluffy. I was hooked from the first visit and almost thought about deducting a star from the other burrito joints for not being Burrito Express. Alas, I’m lazy so I won’t. I am planning on branching out to other items but if their bean and cheese is any indication they will rock that too. One tip: if your short-term memory sucks bring a pen. You need to remember what number you are if you plan on picking up your food :)
