C2 Pilates

The studio was nice and easy to find. I went there for the first time to take a class called «Beat Barre.» It was a very cute class that had good music selection. While I did not find the workout to be challenging, I did think overall it was a fun class. I would consider trying it again, but the studio itself seemed a little too cliquish for my taste. There were a few warm people, but the majority were giving me the side eye like «what’s she doing here?» when in fact I think I was probably stronger than them all. I know that sort of territorial behavior can happen when it’s a smaller environment but some places make the extra effort to not be that way.
I was also somewhat amused after the class when I went to the website to see the phrase «we believe every ‘body’ is perfect.» It sure didn’t feel that way when the instructor was telling me how lean this workout has made her and how she used to be so bulky from running and she wasn’t sure what kind of workout I do or what I’m looking for but if I continued it would «lean» me out. I’m slightly paraphrasing, but obviously I’m not the thin, «lean» person she was and I don’t want to be. I am proud of my B&B, not to mention the fact that in today’s society more people would want to look like me before her. It was a bit of a turnoff to have her talk to me in that way when I didn’t ask her opinion. I told her I take classes because I enjoy them. I even mostly enjoyed the class, but I won’t go somewhere if I think people are judging my body. It reminds me too much of my experiences in YMCA group ex classes pre– Sir Mix a Lot era.
Personally, I’d rather be strong and fit, and my ability to breeze through this class let me know that I am both.

I just took my first class at C2, Beatbarre, and it was a blast! Unlike anything I have ever done before. The teacher was such a sweetheart and so positive throughout the class. Even with her soft voice she pushed me and made me want to work hard. I definitely cannot wait to go back. Hoping to try the pound class next!

The BeatBarre and PoundFit classes are amazing. You feel sore after every class and they really kick your butt. I love the moves because they’re all about strengthening and toning. All the instructors are great but Eliza N. is the best barre instructor I’ve ever had! – Definitely take a class with her!

It’s 2 days later and I’m still limping. I signed up for the beginner’s package — $ 49 for 5 classes, and I think that’s a great deal to try it out. If I’m this sore from one, I can’t wait to see how my body will change after 5.
The only thing I didn’t love was I felt kind of lost in the crowd in the class. It was my very first time trying barre and I got thrown right in the mix without the instructor asking if it was anyone’s first time or coming over to offer any help with form, etc. She was also having trouble with her mic, so it was really hard to hear her and I had to figure out what we were doing by watching the quick-​moving others in the class who had obviously been doing it for a while. I was also stationed at the bar in the middle of the room, which unlike the rest of the bars doesn’t have a mirror so you can’t check your own form.
I’d definitely try it again, even if I didn’t already buy a package deal. It may have just been an off day and I still d got an incredible workout out of it.

Great workout and great instructors. They are also really flexible-​if there’s a long wait list, they’ll add a class. They’re also great about listening to client feedback about scheduling. I highly recommend this workout.

Signed up for a few private Pilates classes a year ago and I have been hooked ever since. I have serious back issues and with each workout I can feel the relief because I am tightening my core. The instructors are great, it’s a handy location and I think it’s well worth the money.

I love this place! I have never been a huge fan of workout classes but gave C2 Pilates a shot being in such a convenient location in South Boston. The instructors are great, switching from the barre to weights to balls makes the workout fly by. I feel great every time I leave. Only downside is the COST, I will not be able to continue going unless they offer more online deals, this place is too expensive to become a habit. I hope the management realizes they would have an even greater fan base if it was more affordable!

I am a believer!!! Other barre classes in the area are overcrowded and you don’t feel like you are getting a workout. C2 is amazing. I have only been to 4 classes so far and already notice a difference in my body. The workout is intense. The last class I went to, my legs were so sore I could barely walk for 2 days! The instructors are super friendly and helpful. The studio is really classy, comfortable. My only gripe is that it is SO expensive! I know all trendy workouts are, but I just can’t afford to pay that much. So I think for now it will have to be a «treat» once every few weeks. Bummer.

Very good workout! I am a Tracy Anderson addict but this class gives Tracy a run for her money when it comes to bottom half workouts! The instructors are very knowledgable, very attentive, and offer corrections without calling out one person specifically. My advice is to make a reservation because there is a very limited amount of space. I didn’t know how these guys made a profit with how little space there was inside, but when I learned classes were $ 25 a pop, I learned!

As an experienced pilates, dance, and fitness instructor, I can tell you that this studio is the best! I tend to be critical when it comes to instruction and I have to say that these instructors are awesome. They have a mix of backgrounds… physical therapy, dance, and personal training so there is an instructor for you no matter what your goals and needs are.
C2’s Barre class is by far the most intense workout around. Some classes are too slow or too «dancey». Their class has the perfect blend of conditioning, ballet, pilates, and it even has a cardio component! It’s everything you want in a work out.
Great location in South Boston — a short walk to the Seaport area, Broadway shops, and Southie beaches. I love this place!

C2 Pilates is the BOMB. Most invigorating workout I’ve done, period. You’ll love it if you have a dance or yoga background, and you’ll love it the same if you’re just trying to slim down and tone up. It’s not like Pilates at the gym… the instructors are seasoned experts and make the exercises very deliberate, safe, and fun. Try the BARREroom class.
