Worst club in Boston. The bouncer at the front was arrogant and VERY rude. I will make sure none of our friends go into that bar after how we were treated last night.

so, i went for pride – i’ve never been there on a non-gay night. and the music was pretty good and the venue was swanky. BUT – i orded a citron and soda, and it was loud as fuck so i can understand the confusion, but the bartender asked me «…on and soda?» and i couldn’t really understand her so i said«A CITRONANDSODA» and then she brought me a foul foul concoction that i later learned was a patron and soda. that’s not even a thing! who buys a cup of patron and then waters it down? it was an expensive drink and it tasted like booty.

Being from the NYC metro area and knowing what a decent club should be like, THIS definitely wasn’t up to par. Cover was like$ 15, no big deal except I expect some return on my initial investment… didnt happen here… Their upstairs was dingy and seemed way too small for a «party room»…Downstairs was sparsely filled with some party goers who seemed like they followed us out… at 11pm.

HORRIBLE! Take all the negative reviews into consideration because I apparently didn’t. You can barely find parking so there was no other choice but to park in the garage across the street for $ 30. Bouncers were really mean and annoying for NO reason! They didn’t accept my ID, idk why! My friends got inside before me and they hated it too.

I love Caprice. The only one issue I had is when it was supposed to be open at a certain time(I’m guessing 10, but can’t remember) and they did not open until almost an hour later. That was the night of my co-b-school-graduation party with a girlfriend, so I was not happy about that. However, other than that issue, I’ve always had a great time, and have found the crowd to be good as well. Not too much of a meat market, and into dancing. There is a good mix of hip-hop and house played here, and I really like the upstairs rooms. What is also nice is that you can sit without bottle service. I’ve never paid a cover, and yes, while drinks are expensive(welcome to the club scene), they are of decent strength. I would go back to Caprice in a heartbeat.
Expensive for what they’re trying to play off in a nightclub. $ 10 for a drink that’s in a water fountain cup is a joke. For those prices, I’d rather go to Alibi and Clink for a real good night out.

In the proper prospective I really like Caprice. Sure it is expensive to get drinks but there is generally no cover. If your thinking about going out for a night of clubbing in Boston Caprice is a great place to start. Directly underneath is a bar called Underbar which is also pricey and has a big cover. Being in Caprice kind of lets you scope the crowd going into Underbar before making a commitment to go down there. Caprice is two floors, although I rarely go up to the second one, I always found it weird. There is a very small space to dance, you can, but it is definitely more of a lounge. Drinks go for around $ 10.

Personally, I thought Caprice wasn’t so bad as previous reviews. Went there the night before Halloween, waited in line no more than 10 minutes. Also, my friend was lucky and found parking right across the club, so good start at that. It’s true that the drinks are overpriced and rather weak($ 9 for an ice-filled coke with a mere splash of Captain Morgan). It is also fairly small. However, the music is eclectic, ranging from top 40 – house – middle easter… they even had Greek! Also, cover charge was $ 5 so that was cool. Probably best if you go with a good group that is actually into clubbing.

Friday/Saturday The décor is horrible they need a remodel stat. There isn’t any cover charge so you get what you paid for… Also the crowd was not that great looking. It does have an interesting layout of multiple rooms and different dj/music but I wasn’t impressed.

Caprice is a small lounge for those who don’t want to head downstairs to Underbar(or to get some drinks before Underbar gets busy). The lounge has bar stools, couches along the sides of the lounge with ottomans and small low tables. I actually paid attention to the DJ last time and didn’t go downstairs, and I’ve found that the DJSUCKS. The DJ booth is pathetic(not the DJ’s fault) but the guy has poor transitions between songs/For example, you’re dancing away and all of a sudden the track skips or worse, ends completely. Then the guy loads another song at a COMPLETE different tempo than the last one, what the hell?! I’ve seen girls’ handbags left unattended, looks like they either have nothing to lose or haven’t experienced purse snatchers yet! The male to female ratio is definitely in the females’ favor. The guys always outnumber the girls here, and since a good number of them dance exclusively with their friends/boyfriends, most of the guys just end up dancing alone or standing around doing people watching. If you’re a girl who is an attention whore, hit up the Caprice. If you’re a guy, don’t waste your time here. Wouldn’t recommend this place for people over 30 years of age, it’s mainly a 20s-something crowd. Caprice should just be a rest stop for your evening activities to get a few drinks, it doesn’t have much else to offer. Lastly, don’t park on the street after 2:00am. Everyone scatters, including the punk police, and your car WILL be broken into if you’re still parked on the street after 2am.

I wish there was a no star. Its like that date you go on that you hope you wake up from… or when you think you are eating a ripe tomato but its really a vomit flavored filled orb. Naturally one would assume that girls sippin fruity drinks and wearing heels and mini dresses would be a good thing. WRONG! Especially when most of the people there are A) really awkward –like the lady grinding the… air…next to me and trashy– countless amount of panties from all the trashy weird ladies were seen and B) Most of the people looked like free Willy was shoved into a walmart dress. This is why I dont like str8 bars. At least if the gays look trashy… we KNOW we do. I also saw a lot of platform FLIPFLOPS. Confuse me? The place was totally dead and the drinks and music were bad. And by bad… I refused to drink mine. 10 dollar drink un drunk. Something was wrong. There was ample couch space and an open floor which was being taken up by the Shamu and Friends show. No décor but a few wall sconces and dark red paint. It was utterly boring. Just so all around bad. Words have not been invented for to describe.

There are a lot of bars and clubs in the area, don’t bother with this one. Drinks were expensive and had barely any alcohol, and the bartenders were irritatingly ignorant. I must have had a few too many of their cups of juice – I mean mixed drinks – and started just making up drinks to order. Apparently, there is no such thing as a Hurricane. I was initially confused because all the other bartenders in the city had no problem making me one, but it turns out that the Caprice bartender has been at her job for 10 years, and she says it doesn’t exist. She sure put me in my place, I’ll have another $ 10 glass of tonic water with a twist of pretentiousness, thanks.

I wouldn’t go so far as to call Caprice cool, but the music is completely eclectic upstairs and the bouncers treat the ladies well. A line had already formed when we got to Caprice on Sat, but to our pleasant surprise, the bouncer just walked right up to us and asked if we were going to caprice or underbar and whisked us to the front. Ok so yea… they’re not exactly fair and I think we probably got a couple of stink eyes from the people in line… but if I’m dressed up out for an evening with my girls, I enjoy not having to wait. Good for the ladies… but yeah bites if you’re with mostly guys. Downstairs was more loungey, but we wanted to dance so we went upstairs. The crowd was definitely older and seemed somewhat international(South Asian, Euro mostly) and the drinks were inconsistent(from watered down to possibly burning a hole in my stomach). I didn’t know most of the music they were playing in there but a lot of it was very high energy and kind of fun in a silly sort of way. Toward the end they also played a lot of Greek music because apparently there were a lot of Greeks there that evening… So yeah, Caprice isn’t exactly hip and happening, but it can be fun. The major downside of our evening was probably the UBERLY sweaty guys we were surrounded by. As a result of said gentlemen, it smelled bad in there and we were so glad when someone popped open a window. I am hoping that’s not a fixture… but if it is I’ll have to take away a star.

This venue is interesting. It’s not really a club… or a lounge… but a hybrid of the two. Visited Caprice on a Thursday night, and I must say I LOVED what the DJ was spinning. Hip Hop, Reggaeton, Soja… as I walked through the doors and heard Alison Hinds«Roll it Gayl» thumping on the speakers, I knew the music would be good. That is one of my most absolute favorite songs, and it is NEVER played b/c it’s not«mainstream.» There are places to sit all around the perimeter, and the bar area has a mirror there which helps to make the space look bigger. It’s a small venue. There was no cover… and apparently… no dress code either. You had people there in suits, and then all the way down to sneakers and hoodies. I’m not sure on how much drinks cost because I only had one, and it was bought for me. I will say it was tiny though, so if it was more than $ 5 – 7 it was too much. I think this venue would be the most fun if you bring a small group of friends and«own your spot» and just have a good time. I’m not sure about the music on the other nights… but I’d be up for finding out!

Look, if you find the right night(some nights are only house music), you can have a great time here. Why? Because there’s no dress code, its relatively cheap to get in(free most of the time), the drinks are cheap, and if you bring a group of friends and keep to yourselves, its a fun time. Personally, I’m a fan of asian night, which I don’t know if thats an official night, but there tends to be a lot less older lurky men around, which weirds me out as well because I’m not a big fan of dancing with a girl if a sweaty 40-year old dude is watching me. Bottom line, just bring a group of friends looking for a cheap night out on the right night of music and you’ll have a great time.

I have been here a few times. Sometimes it is packed. sometimes it is not. The music here is pretty good. definitely can get some good dancing here. The drinks are indeed expensive but where is it not in Boston right? Now. if you’re coming here to people watch. I wouldn’t say that people are the most attractive here. but if you’re coming with your friends to just dance. good idea. And it’s kind of a Spanish place. so you have to be okay with the occasional Spanish song.

They don’t serve food anymore, so our plans changed and we ended up at a local Thai restaurant instead. I had never been to either place before, but I was at the whim of my date for the evening. The people are ABSOLUTELY obnoxious(including my date). The drinks are way overpriced. The atmosphere is nothing special. Like any club, the music is so loud that you can’t hold a conversation. Why do people like this kind of place?

Wow. Ok, so we came here briefly for an after party for the event«Cut & Paste» last weekend. Keep in mind, the majority of the crowd were dressed either urban or indie/hipsteresque. We found the door just outside of the Roxy and were greeted, or should I say blocked by one of the bouncers who was ill informed of our event. He proceeded to tell us that we weren’t allowed into Caprice in sneakers. BULL$HIT. Their venue was going to be catering to probably a hundred people possibly ALL wearing sneakers. I eventually was able to grab our MC and the event coordinator to speak with him, and it gradually got worked out. But it was probably 10 mins of listening to some pompous jerk radio in to find out if he can«let these kids in wearing sneakers». Real great. We finally get let in, and the atmosphere seems pretty nice, but overpriced for the company you have to keep. Service related first experience has earned this a whopping 2 stars. Not sure I’d come back here on my own accord as it is.
