Caslowitz Joel G, MD

I swapped over to Dr. Caslowitz as my PCP from another PCP in Brookline. It was a good decision. It is very easy to get an appointment. The staff is very nice. The office is very nice. I couldn’t be happier!

After moving to Boston, we needed a doc, but had NO IDEA how to begin finding one who is with our insurance. We found Caslowitz by accident and lucked out on this one.
Dr. Caslowitz is affiliated with BU medical school, and (I learned by a google) was awarded the Metcalf Cup in 1994 for his superb teaching.
He’s a very thorough physician who listened intently to what I had to say (I’m a PhD scientist, so I think my input is at least worth hearing before dismissing) and then asked, «What can I do?» This will always enamor me with a doctor. He took the time to converse with me about my life and needs, and is VERY knowledgeable and well-​read on recent medical literature. I was given a full physical, since it was my first visit, and felt completely comfortable the whole time. When I needed a referral, I called and left a message… he called back and left me a message that it was done and even (after seeing my wife for back pain) said to «give her my regards and I hope her PT is getting her better». Fantastic guy.
The place gets 4 stars because the rooms seem older and a bit outdated. Clean, but in need of renovating. Shouldn’t reflect on Caslowitz, but I feel it does go to the overall experience.
