Centro just happens to be one of the hippest and most genuine non profits around town, and that is saying a lot in Boston the mecca of orgs. Centro cares about those who really are on the fray… mainly Latin and South Americans who are in vulnerable legal situations. Everything they do says, ‘Hey, we respect you, and your family and your right to live in this country.’ And I say rock on! They teach classes, they help fill out immigration forms and other legal documents, they lobby for better immigrant rights and they help workers learn about their rights… they never stop trying and because of their dedication I have faith that we will learn to respect difference in a more profound way, day by day. I love you Centro and all those who work there for sticking up for people who might not always be able to put their neck out there. You keep giving a big middle finger to the Man who thinks it is ok to treat some like they are worth less while those who have spent years exploiting wallow in muddy money. And as a note, they just moved to Charlestown… new address TBD.
