This place is a complete joke. Now they claim to be under renovation again !! Mind you they were just closed for over two months, possibly three for a renovation. But it doesn’t look like try fixed anything that whole time. Just did a lot of painting to make things look fancy.. Dryers still don’t work that well, hours are inconvenient, no dry cleaning anymore, the staff isn’t the friendliest, oh yeah and no more pick up and delivery service which blows ! I don’t know what’s going on with this place but old staff did a better job.

This establishment has been refurbished with beautiful new equipment, the tile floors are clean and well maintained, and the coin machine is finally working thanks to new management. The owner, Todd, is readily available by phone and is very cooperative when it comes to helping new customers. He and I had a miscommunication during our first interaction, but he met me with a firm handshake and compassion the day after — handling my concerns like a pro. Would recommend this newly renovated laundry service to anyone looking for a well-​run establishment with new and fully functional machinery.

Was very impressed at the new ownership at Commonwealth Laundry. It’s cleaner, functions better (almost all the machines are running now) and has affordable prices. Staff is awesome!!!

I walked by the other day and they are now open during renovations. I only went there once before they closed and it was very clean and the machines worked great. I will be using this laundry because Cappy’s top loading machines do not empty all of the wash water before starting the rinse cycle.

The price was good at the first time, but the service is terrible. I had dry clean for my sheepskin rug and it was almost broken after they return it back. The wool is curved and the nonslip mat was damaged! The worse was they asked for a higher price when I wanted to clean my rug again, it’s ridiculous! I told them the bad condition about the rug so I don’t think it should be worth that much. They said oh then why do you still want us to do it? Go find someone else! Worst Experience ever!

The manager and owner have both responded to me after about a year and a half after writing the review. I guess what had happened is that there was some construction nearby and it forced the rats to explore new areas. The experience itself was a tragedy but after the communication, I feel a little better. I most likely will not ever revisit this little shop of horror out of shock, but at least I know that the rats were something that the owners had little control over.

I began sending my laundry here about 2 months ago, I started with the wash and fold service and now have begun sending my dry cleaning in as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency and promptness of the staff. The lady that works there gives me updates via text and is more than accommodating to any needs I have, hang dry all my clothes/​random delivery times. My laundry has always been neatly folded and clean, contrary to the other reviews I have read about the place. Not to mention price is more than reasonable compared to the others in the area. 5 star rating with no questions asked.

We needed a place to bring a few large items (down comforter, duvet, etc.) I was feeling pretty hesitant about using a coin-​op at all, but was pleasantly surprised. CCO is in a great location, relatively clean (we did come during Boston’s «move-​in weekend, after all) and the machines were in great shape and worked really well. The only real complaint was that the only change machine was broken — kind of a pain. Glawedecided to use CCO — it made a dreaded chore surprisingly pleasant & easy!

They did a great job hemming a pair of pants for me. They kept me updated through text about when they would be ready, which I really appreciated. I would recommend them for alterations.

less than 1 stars for drop-​off service — strongly recommend you avoid this service, unless you are willing to lose some clothing, and don’t rely on getting your clothing back in a timely fashion…
4 stars for being a perfectly nice self-​serve laundromat. Plenty of working machines, well kept space.
As to the strange rat complaints — baloney, baloney, baloney. I don’t believe for a second that I can go here off and on for years, and never see a rat (even though this is a basement level store front, so rodent-​risk seems high) and one person goes in and sees several rats…
I like this laundromat, mostly because the staff there has been nice. I appreciate that. Other than that — laundry machines are laundry machines…
Now the drop off service — the woman who took and returned my laundry to me was very nice. But there was a serious service problem, that cost me a missed appointment and extra money.
I called to find out when I could pick up my clean laundry, and I was told that I could pick up my laundry anytime during certain hours — and I traveled to pick up my laundry later that same day during these hours. But I showed up and the office door was closed — with a sign on it saying the staff would return in ½ hour. I had no time for that, but no choice as I do not have a car, and the laundry had ALL of my clothing. After waiting 45 minutes, calling a few times, knocking on the door — I took a walk around the neighborhood and thought about where I could buy clothes.
Then — I got a phone call from the aforementioned nice woman. She had picked up my phone message, and was still out on a delivery. She said that there was a person in the office, apologized for being late and said she’d be back in 10 minutes. I returned to the laundromat, and she arrived and opened the office. There WAS a worker in the office — her boss. Totally, totally frustrating. What’s worse is — they have an answering machine — not voicemail — so he must have not only heard me knocking on the door (during normal business hours) but also heard my message over the machine — explaining the problem that they were causing me.
Then — brought my laundry home and put it away — found two broken zippers — slacks and blouses shrunk. These were all items of clothing that I’d managed to wash and dry in laundromat-​machines without damaging them, so — if I can do it — no excuse for a laundromat owner not being able to swing it…

This place is pretty unbelievable. They haven’t had hot water for most of the year, but don’t have the decency to tell you. This is probably why other reviews have noticed that clothes don’t really get clean here. There are rats/​squirrels/​something living in the ceiling. After this latest disappointment — no change in the machine, no lights on inside, no staff in the office and yes, they were open for business! — I won’t be coming back. Stay away.

I’ve only used this place once, but I’m a fan! I used the wash-​dry-​fold service. I dropped it off Saturday afternoon, and picked it up Sunday morning (they said that if you drop it off early, you can get it the same day!). My laundry was clean and fluffy, and folded nicely, and the two women I interacted with on drop-​off and pick-​up were both quite friendly. Plus, the price is better than most places in the area. The laundromat itself was clean, too, and also reasonably priced, so I would definitely take a load there to do myself if I needed to. I’ll definitely be taking my things back to the wash-​dry-​fold, though! I live right near another laundromat and about ¾ of a mile from this one, but that little walk is worth it. I’ve been looking all over for a laundry service because I work and take classes, so I’m really glad to have found this place. Hopefully they keep up the good work!

Great little laundromat! Prices are medium. I have definitely been to places where the prices are higher and lower. They have single, double, and triple load washers here which range from 2.75 a load to 4.75 a load. Industrial dryers are .25 cents for 7 minutes. Very clean and well managed. There is a quarter machine on site that takes a variety of bills.

I went to this place after I moved and no longer have laundry in my building. All of the machines are clean, and they’re are a bunch of them. There is a coin machine on-​site, and they also sell laundry detergent. None of my clothes were ruined and I am super excited to have found a good place! I plan to try the drop-​off service soon.

This place is really great. The lady who works there (not sure if she is the owner) is really nice. Everything is done perfectly. Dry cleaning and hemming are top-​notch. And the prices are very competitive in the area. This place should be getting more business!

My neighborhood laundry place (well one of them) and its the best! Clean, reliable, friendly staff, and even great and cheap alterations! (Hemming of pants, I can attest to at least). I feel so lucky to have them right across the street.
