That chicken salad sandwich though. Pressed. Please don’t make me cry. Is it possible to buy a year-long freezer’s worth of that sandwich? Just so I can have it anytime I want? The chicken is real(once I found a bone in there, and I didn’t even mind because I knew that meant it was ACTUAL chicken), the mayo is delish, and the bread is toasty and crisp. Go here and you will not be disappointed.

I wanted to really like this place because it is a convenient lunch spot that I have tried it a few times. Sadly I won’t be back. The turkey panini is okay but nothing special. The pizza is too greasy, the pasta is bland, and I had a chicken sandwich special that was not edible. Not sure why people like this place so much, especially since everything is pre made and not very fresh.

Delicious and quick. The staff is friendly and the long line zips along smoothly during the breakfast and lunchtime. Why would you go to Starbucks when you can have a delicious breakfast sandwich made fresh here? Your choice of bagel, scrambled egg, cheese, and ham/prosciutto. For lunch, in addition to the sandwiches, etc, there is always a «special» pasta, soup, and pizza. Quality food, fast.

I’m kind of in love with this place right now. I was told by a few co-workers that it wasn’t very good.(One said the food was bland, the other said it was salty.) I now suspect that they were trying to keep it to themselves. I’ve gone three times so far and I’ve been blown away by it. First, I got the ham sandwich, which is ham, swiss, honey mustard, and bread and butter pickles on a nice bread, that is heated on a panini press and comes out golden and crispy on the outside, with melted cheese on the inside. The next time I went, I got a breakfast sandwich. They were out of the one I wanted, but the person behind the line whipped up a fresh sandwich for me, which was amazing. Most recently, I grabbed a salad, which was perfectly chilled, with fresh crisp vegetables, and an amazing balsamic vinaigrette with fresh basil chopped up in it. Which, leads me to a discussion of the ingredients: wow. They use such great ingredients. The ham is flavorful and thinly sliced. The cheese comes in big slices and has loads of flavor. The breads are thick cut and wonderful. The English muffin, even, is wonderful — fresh, thick, perfect mixture of soft and chewy. The vegetables are fresh. They use great olive oil and balsamic. They take credit cards, offer a wide array of soda, cookies, and both flat and sparkling mineral water. The lines do get long, but they move incredibly quickly and the staff seems to recognize regulars.(There also seem to be *a lot* of regulars.) The prices are also pretty great. My ham sandwich was $ 7 plus tax, and I made two meals out of it(and it reheated quite well in the microwave). My breakfast sandwich was around $ 3.75 with tax(comparatively, Flour charges $ 7 for theirs and it’s nowhere near as good). My salad was $ 3.50.

Everything I’ve had from Davio’s To Go counter has been outstanding. They simply and exquisitely prepare food with quality ingredients. Soup is well seasoned, and salads are very fresh. They can be a little on the pricey side, but I’d say they’re well worth it for the occasional lunch.

Good option for people who work in the building. The staff are very nice and the food is good! Some of the lunch items are a bit too expensive, but the pizza is delicious and inexpensive. The coffee is also a good pick me up in the morning. :-)

Very very disappointing. I work in the building and get food from here all the time. Today I was absolutely appalled! I ordered a «half pasta»(Penne with Italian sausage) and I couldn’t believe the portion size. They changed the portion to be even smaller than the regular small and still charged the same amount of money. The half size portion used to come in a round container and it was a good lunch size serving of pasta. But today the pasta came in a tiny rectangular container like the amount you would feed a 5 year old!!! I hope that this was just a one time thing and that they are going back to their normal portion sizes otherwise there are going to be a lot of hungry and angry people out there.

Great food, service, selection. The line does get long but they move through it quickly. I like the daily specials like tortilla soup & quinoa salad.

Davio’s to Go is a solid option for both breakfast and lunch in the back bay. The line can get pretty long during lunch hour, but the line moves quickly. A few of my favorites are the veggie pita and the portabella mushroom sandwich($ 6). The tiramisu is decent if you’re looking for something sweet to top off your lunch. In the mornings, their Cruller donuts and hazelnut latte make a nice start my day!

Great food, reasonable prices. Don’t be afraid of the line, it moves quickly. I’m not really concerned about the smiling or lack thereof(as long as they aren’t being mean). Service was fast! Recommend the chicken soup. Very fresh tasting.

The good: –lattes, for both their taste and their price(2.94 for a large!) –the hot chocolate, which tastes like melted Cadbury chocolate –the mini cannoli –tuna wrap –except during lunch when it’s mobbed, service is extremely fast The mediocre: –a few other types of wraps –muffins are a bit dry –their salad selection isn’t great –some(and only some) of the people behind the counter aren’t the friendliest –line around lunch time is miserable All in all, a good place.

Davio’s To Go is terrific. It is always clean, the employees behind the counter are always helpful and quick(though not chatty). The menu boards are easy to read and the food is fantastic. You can taste how high quality their ingredients are. The price, location, quality and taste put Davio’s To Go at the top of my list for lunch places in Back Bay.

I’ve eaten at Davio’s too many times to count. I think the workers knew me by name. The majority of my classes in college were right upstairs from them so it was an easy walk to grab a chai, a salad(with heavenly green vingerette dressing… god they should bottle that stuff), a piece of gourmet pizza or some delicious soup(either the beef and barley or the black bean). The atrium is beautiful to eat in so that’s always a plus too. Brave the often long line for a treat!

I became the duchess of Davio’s for two main reasons: Convenience and friendly staff. The food is decent, but nothing truly outrageous. For such a small place, they sure do get a long line around lunch! The best deals are the sandwiches or paninis. The rest of the food has a price point a little higher than a can splurge for on a regular basis. Try the portabella sandwich. The red pepper aeoli really pulls it all together, Make sure to get it toasted too! This way the cheese gets alllll up in the mushroom’s grill. This is a very good thing.

Today was my first time at Davio’s to go. I didn’t know what to expect. I ordered the Portobella Mushroom sandwich(grilled w/Provolone Cheese, Red Pepper Aioli, and French Bread) and the vegetable minestrone soup. I took the first bite of the sandwich and almost died b/c it was so good. It was piping hot, the cheese was melted perfectly, oozing out the sides… It was, without question, one of the best grilled sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life! Two thumbs waaaaay up. It’s the perfect sandwich for vegetarians AND meat-eaters. It’s that good. Seriously. The soup was also good. The perfect compliment to the sandwich. Warm, flavorful and delicious. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.

First timer here. The coffee is good! I was impressed once I took a sip. Had a Tarrazu(costs rican) coffee. 1.87 w/tax for a small. Made my morning! That and getting my hair did ;) 4.5 stars if I could.

I agree with other reviewers that a few of the people behind the counter can be grumpy… but most are great. The loss of 1 star has more to do with the fact that the sandwiches just arent as good as they should be for the price and the line is out of control at lunch time. The reason they get my business is the croissants and the macaroons. Both are unbeatable… literally the best in Boston.

Quick, decent sandwiches, salad and pasta. It’s right across the street from Viga and wins with respect to spaciousness(atrium beats cramped space), price(soup + half sandwich for $ 6.50 = a-ok), and quickness(though this might have to do with having a little more atrium space to wait in). I like the Italian panini, panzanella salad, and beef barley soup.

I work right in the building where Davio’s To Go makes its home, and I usually skip it because 1. It’s terribly overpriced 2. The staff is often snooty, 3. The line is often long. The food is tasty, though, and when I can’t muster the energy to venture away from the building, I brave 1, 2, and 3 and buy from Davio’s. I am really writing this review, however, to point out two truly stellar menu items. The first is the croissant. It is just exactly how a croissant should be — not doughy or bready in any way — just flaky and buttery, crunchy and delicious. Davio’s croissants with tea get me through my grumpiest mornings. The second fabulous item is the Chicken Tortilla soup. It’s hearty, rich, just spicy enough, super flavorful, and filling. It’s worth the price, and I often justify buying a cup when I see it listed on the specials board.

Remember that episode of Seinfeld with the Soup Nazi? The guy was a total asshole, but the soup was amazing, so ppl had to keep going back? And then Elaine got all of his recipes, and he got pissed, so he shut the whole operation down, and went back to his country, and we didn’t hear from him again until the LAST episode of Seinfeld? Wasn’t that last episode disappointing? :( Anywayz, Davio’s To Go has nothing to do with that… I first started coming here, bkuz I was pissed off by the line of CHEAPFOOLS(that basically ended in the middle of an intersection) outside of Viga. Sure, it’s cool to get a huge slice of Pizza for under $ 3, but FUCKYOU! I’m not waiting 20 minutes in the rain. Doesn’t Emerson have a cafeteria?! Damn Phantom Gourmet… so, as I wuz saying, the line at Davio’s To Go is NEVER that long. I would NEVER order soup from a restaurant, bkuz I thought it seemed like a waste of $$$$, but Davio’s alwayz has amazing soup, and it’s so cheap! They have a rotating menu of daily specials with pastas, sandwiches, soups and pizzazZz. Sometimes this gets annoying, bkuz they’ll put fish w/rice as a pasta special, and that’s WRONG! Anywayzzzzzz… The pasta dishes are very filling — I forget who said they got the Penne Bolognese, but you must be a PIG! I always get the ½ serving when it’s on the menu($ 4) and I feel like I just had Thanksgiving dinner. There must be a pound of meat in that sauce! And ‘Sup with other restaurants charging $ 2-$ 3 for mediocre co0kiez? They are all $ 0.95 at Davio’s To Go and $ 0.50 for macaroonz. Fuck! I’m surprised they don’t take WIC cards! ok, l8r.
