DJ Cookie Policy

Having a good dance party was at the top of our wedding priorities and DJ Cookie Policy kept the party going all night. We hired him for a few reasons: 1) He DJ’s at local bars we love (Salon, Local 121) and knows how to mix songs so you have one continuous dance mix; 2) His personal taste in music is similar to ours (though he is willing and able to DJ for a wide range of musical tastes); 3) Upon meeting him, it was clear he is professional, organized and responsive; and 4) he was able to provide audio support for our wedding ceremony (PA system, mics, music).
Throughout the planning process he was responsive, kind and organized. He gave us a sheet to complete with our «must plays» and «do not plays» as well as details including our wedding party and timeline. During dinner he played great, dinner-​appropriate music at a good volume. As soon as it was time for dancing, he got everyone on the dance floor, where they stayed all night. He played a great mix of songs that had everyone from grandma to our younger siblings dancing. We would highly recommend him if you are looking to have a great dance party at your wedding!

We had Brett DJ our wedding in September. He was awesome! The music flow was great! I feel like he really got a sense of our style from the list of songs we wanted to play and extrapolated from that. so it felt like the whole night was exactly what we wanted to hear. He also did a great job weaving in the greek music we requested with modern music so it never felt like there was too much of one or the other.
Also, we had a destination wedding which Brett traveled for. He was fully prepared and everything was perfect! Definitely would recommend him for any wedding!

DJ Cookie Policy played at our wedding reception in Mystic, CT. He was very easy to work with, had a great playlist, and I’d recommend.

What a sweetheart! Brett was such a wonderful DJ to work with for our special day! He was so willing to work with our style, and provided wonderful advice about the day, and made everything so seamless. We had a family member play music during the ceremony, and he worked with him to make everything work, and provided the PA equipment, and helped set up the area! His professionalism was so evident, and his willingness to work collaboratively was perfect! An added bonus, his adorable girlfriend was our photographer! Such a little dream duo!

Brett dj’ed our evening outdoor wedding 5÷30÷15 and he did a phenomenal job! Before the wedding he provided us with a joint GoogleDoc for coordinating speeches, dinner, and, most importantly, music. We wanted to make sure we had very specific and separate music for cocktail hour/​dinner and dancing and he was able to smoothly put together all of our requests into a nice cohesive sound. My wife and I had a very particular idea of the music we wanted to hear– we picked ~80% of the music– but Brett threw in some really great mixes that surprised and delighted us! My friends still mention this particularly great fade-​in he did to «Once in a lifetime» by the Talking Heads.
We had a couple special requests, cutting a father/​daughter dance song down one verse– as well as a hard-​to-​find Norteño song that he got for us without question. Also, we made a «do not play» list, and when Brett was approached by a family member requesting one of those songs, he very diplomatically refused to play it :)
As the groom, I wasn’t able to hear all the music, but the evening progressed without a hitch, and EVERYONE got on the floor to dance. I may be biased, but of all the weddings I’ve ever been to, I’ve never seen people more into dancing.
Brett provided all his own equipment and dressed very «wedding-​appropriate». There was a momentary microphone feedback issue during one of the speeches– but he got it resolved quickly. Not to mention, he had really nice, professional wireless mics for speeches– I would not have thought to ask about those.
All in all, I totally recommend Brett as a wedding dj– he exceeded our expectations.

We booked DJ Patterson for our wedding. The parents who wanted to hear the 60’s stuff, the bride and groom (me and her) who wanted to hear our stuff heard it, even the kids heard their songs. Our wedding was so much fun. We danced our arses off. It was fun. He knows how to make people dance. Plus he is also nice to deal with when you are planning a wedding. Which can be stressful. Nice to know your DJ will do a good job.

Brett was the DJ for my wedding a week ago. Everything went great! He was always available, very friendly and accommodating to our requests. He was also a great price! Thanks Brett!

I recently heard DJ Patterson (aka Cookie Policy!) live and in person for the first time and I danced all night, even with a sprained ankle! (couldn’t help it!) Honestly the best mix of tunes, blended together beautifully and creatively — I haven’t heard anything like it. I recommend DJ Patterson/​Cookie Policy to anyone and everyone looking for a creative DJ who will keep you entertained for hours. Plus, he even brought cookies to the show! As a wedding professional myself, I would LOVE to hear him over the other DJs I usually work with at weddings — such a breath of fresh air and appropriate for ALL types of crowds. Highly, highly recommend. He is a reliable, kind and positive person, AND a creative, inventive, fun and truly amazing DJ!

Brett is not only professional, but also brings the party with him. Whether it is through communicating his ideas, being creative, feeling the crowd out, or adding to the already amazing music selection to fit the occasion’s needs, he is without a doubt one of my favorite DJs!

I booked DJ Patterson to host /​DJ a large musical event with 3 bands and him DJ’ing at the end of the night. He provided the sound system, music in between bands, and flawless turntable skills to keep everyone dancing at the end of the night. Best beats for your buck

The only time I spent not dancing was when I went to buy a drink. Brett kept me grooving the entire night, in fact I left a sweaty mess. I brought a handful of friends with me and we all had an absolute blast. I can’t wait to dance again, you rock B!
