I wish I could give this place zero stars. Seriously. I had to find coffee early on a Wednesday morning and stopped by this one. I arrived a few minutes before the advertised opening time of 6AM. I saw there were employees inside and figured I could wait a few minutes until they opened. And then I waited. And waited. Finally at 6:10, I knocked on the window and the employee inside said«6:30». I pointed to the sign where it said«6:00» and they shrugged and went back to whatever they were doing. I don’t have a problem with a location opening at 6:30 instead of 6:00, but at least have the courtesy to update the sign and the online info. I walked about half a mile out of my way for this location in sub freezing temps. Any other time, I would’ve just been annoyed. But the weather made it much worse.

I have been going to this Dunkin Donuts for six years now. This is a culmination of hundreds of visits over the years. This Dunkin Donuts is bad; the quality if the coffee is decent, but comparable to every DD ever, but the prepared food is consistently bad. I decided to write this as I eat my slightly toasted and all around cold bagel sandwich. The only reason this place avoids a one star is because the staff that works here is generally friendly which is impressive since they work at an incredibly busy location so be nice to them.

This Dunkin is pretty blah. I used to go there at least 3 times a week due to it’s proximity to where I work. However, within the past couple of months it’s worked its way up on my list of «Stores to Avoid at all Costs». Not because of service, because the service is good, as is the location. But it seems that every time I go there they don’t have all of their menu items. They are usually out of biscuits(so they can’t serve the sandwich that they have a GIANT poster of in the store). They refuse to make any of the non-breakfast flatbreads before 11am(even though the menu classifies them as «anytime eating»). They have told me numerous times that they don’t serve iced tea on the weekend. They’ve screwed up orders as simple as bagel w/veggie cream cheese… If you just want coffee and a donut, it’s a fine place to get simple stuff. But if you want more you should go to one of the dunkins at Government Center or North Station.

I agree with Sara S. that the building is strange, but the location itself is great – when I went to Suffolk, I’d stop in every morning after getting off the Blue line at Bowdoin. The employees have always been friendly and one of them got to know me by sight, called me «honey»(she’s a lady, so it’s not creepy), and remembered my drink and its variations every time. The same homeless man has indeed been sitting outside on a milk crate for ages, but he’s always very friendly and polite. The food and drinks are, well, the same as they are at every Dunks. The employees are efficient and move the lines through quickly during the morning rush, but the credit card/gift card machine seems to go down here more often than at other DD locations. There’s a small counter along the window and you can stand there to spread cream cheese on your bagel or stir your coffee, but there’s no seating. It simply is what it is – a small Dunks, convenient for commuters and students, but nothing special.

Ehhhhhhhhhhh. This Dunkin’s is weird. Yes, convenient, since it’s the closest location to my apartment and Suffolk when I was a student there. But seriously. It’s in the same building as a sushi place and an Italian place. The same bum has been sitting out there for at least six years– but seriously, do NOT buy him food or give him money, because he’ll spend it on cigs or HISIPHONE. Yes, he has an IPHONE. OK, back to Dunkins. They make a good coffee and can toast your bagel or fetch you a baked good, once they get your order right. One time, the girl messed up three times. The people who work here aren’t very friendly, even if they see you the same time every day for three years and you order the same thing. Other Dunkin’s, the people get to know you, recognize you, and appreciate your business. I don’t like how they don’t have any seating. They just have space to stand by the windows. I guess that’s not their fault though. Average. Just average.
