Online Shopping Experience: I’m such a sucker. Eco-conscious? Here’s my credit card info. Well, I’m not that big of a sucker but pretty damn close. Actually, I just use the excuse to feel better about wanting more material possessions. Envi has very simple, high quality, comfortable and tasteful clothing. I like that the green/eco factors are clearly indicated. The deals are pretty good if you have the patience to wait for sales(in my case, it’s forced patience). Envi is highly efficient with processing orders. I’ll order something and will receive the shipping confirmation within hours. No chance for buyer’s remorse, I guess. Shipping is 5 dollar flat via U.S. postal(3 – 7 day shipping). If you live in the area, then you can pick up for free.

I like Envi. I don’t love Envi, but I definitely like it. They carry a decent range of styles. The prices are a little high for my clothing budget, but I understand why the pieces cost more and I appreciate that the clothing is earth– and people-friendly. If I ever found something there that I absolutely loved, I would pay the higher price to buy it. But that’s the thing — I have yet to find something at Envi that I *love*. Maybe it’s just that their merchandiser and I are on different pages, stylistically. Maybe it’s because there isn’t the huge range of styles available in green clothing that you find in the regular fashion world. Whatever the reason, I have yet to see a piece and think«I must own this!» I’ll keep checking back, though. And the store is worth a look — if you dig their style, there’s plenty to choose from.

This store has GREAT clothes. Envi is now doing this promotion with a few other Boston area businesses called ‘BeanTown is GreenTown’. If you go into Envi and say ‘Beantown 08′ you’ll get 10% off. I saw it at a cool myspace page i came across.

Oh how I covet the stylish, tailored pieces at Envi! I first spied their clothes at the Down2Earth Expo in March and always meant to check it out. Well I finally did that this past weekend and did some damage. Yes, many items are pricey, but I suppose that’s a given when you’re working with organic materials and sweatshop-free manufacturing. Also, I feel like given the higher quality and attention to detail, these pieces will last longer and become wardrobe staples. I fell head over heels for a pair of linen pants, and honestly, these are not your run-of-the-mill beige or white linen pants. Oh no girlfriend, they are METALLIC linen. The material has a subtle shine and they are dark like denim but more refined and tailored. The thin material is breezy for summer, but dressy enough for the office. I thought long and hard about purchasing this item, but I eventually justified parting with my hard-earned cash by rationalizing that I will wear my new favorite linen pants all summer long. The boutique is super cute and well-organized, with many unique pieces that are beautifully styled. While I really liked their selection of rubber sandals and flats, I couldn’t find any in my size(my wallet sighs in relief). They also have a decent sized, well-lit dressing room, which is often rare on Newbury Street! Best of all, the sales staff is helpful but not pushy. Walking out of here, you will be the envy of all your girlfriends and it gives a whole new meaning to «seeing green.»

$ 80 for an organic cotton t-shirt is a little steep for me, but if I was into buying something like Juicy sweats anyway, that same $ 80 would seem like a bargain for coming from Newbury St. and being green. Envi does have some really good 50%-off sales, but of course the cotton shirt I fell in love with was originally $ 160. Most of the clothes were a little too simple to ever make Envi a frequent shopping experience for me, but I appreciate that the store offers understated style and natural fibers. The store’s selection is surprisingly decent for how small it is(including jeans thru size 31!). It’s definitely worth a visit if they’re having a sale.

I’m psyched to have a new place to find«vegetable cashmere,» other than my beloved lululemon! Sure, it’s pricey, but the clothes are eco-friendly AND feel amazing. Love it.

If I ever had any sort of shoppers’ guilt — I am a true bona fide shopaholic — it would never be from shopping at Envi. The tagline on their website reads: fashion conscious clothing for an eco-conscious lifestyle. Seriously, how could I feel bad about spending money when I’m buying clothes made from eco-friendly/green materials like organic cotton, hemp, soy, and bamboo? Yes, you read right, BAMBOO! How cool is that?! The shop just opened yesterday and I was ecstatic to get there so quickly. A cute little space with very friendly staff and calming décor. There are black smooth pebbles lining the floor underneath the clothing racks, and the prints/frames inside the dressing rooms are a little nature, a little Anthropologie, and a lot adorable. The prices are pricey, and while I couldn’t fathom spending upwards of $ 80 on a t-shirt, I was very close to buying one of those bamboo tank tops as well as the cutest/most flattering dress that’s ever graced my body. But sadly, I had already done too much damage this morning and had to refrain. I hope that number is still there the next time I go back because it will occupy my thoughts until it’s mine.(See? Told you I was a crazy shop freak). Definitely put this store next on your list if you’re into being green or just cute clothes, period.
