Pedazo de fiesta. Es un buen plan. Muy divertido. No es muy caro entrar. Merece la pena vivir la experiencia.

Wow, so finally FINALLY Boston has something worth going to. I have been searching and waiting and searching and waiting for a night like this to come up. The funny thing is its weird to say«Lets go to the House of Blues» but the good thing is that EPIC Saturdays is totally kickin! The cover was $ 10 which seems to be about right, $ 16 for two shots is a bit much, but its worth it as there seems to be a nice pour going on. It’s a really large space, makes it easy to dance with hundreds of other hot n sweaty hotties, watching the go go dancers and basking in the confetti snow fall. Wait WHAT? Yeah, the ceiling literally opened up and tons of confetti fall upon you like the worst blizzard you’ve ever seen, and man was it a lot of fun. The people are mixed, male female, gay, straight, bi… unknown. Old, over 21, not old, you name it… Cannot wait to come back!

A friend and I went here after just arriving in Boston. Honestly, I was not that impressed. The music was up beat, but nobody showed up until about 1. The cover was pretty cheap(10) and we even showed up after 11. But NOBODY was there. The drinks are REALLY expensive and kind of doesn’t make it worth it.

A friend and I had never been to Epic Saturdays until this past weekend. We decided a night of dancing was in order, and allegedly this is the place to be on a Saturday night, so we girded our loins and headed over to Fenway to begin our evening adventure. The Scissor Sisters concert had just let out in the same space, so there promised to be a gaggle of persons of the homosexual persuasion(and their friends) attending. We arrived before 11PM, which is key as it is free then – otherwise it is the steep price of $ 15(this better be good…). We were then ushered into a separate bar; a sort of Epic Saturday purgatory where one must wait to get into the main arena if he is early. Inside, one travels to the House of India with a layout that is pretty puzzling and a bar staff that is very harried. Well liquor drinks are about $ 8 a pop. Around 11.45, everyone was ushered through a secret back door into the main room(probably late this time because of the Scissor Sisters concert). Once in the main room, the access to liquor and the general friendliness of the bar-staff vastly improved. The music consisted of newer house tracks as well as house remixes of pop insta-classics(Lady Gaga). Some of his mixes touched on dubstep, which was always the best; the dance floor is very spacious, which is a definite bonus. All in all: meh.

Although a bit expensive for admission($ 15 after 11pm), I think that it lives up to the gay club standards of the city… MUCH better than the old Roxy. It still has the old Avalon feel, which is a plus! AND it has boxes I can dance on!

I went to HOB Epic the other night for the first time. All I was told beforehand was it’s expensive, and it lived up to that(6.50 $ for a Sam Adams…) also, 15 $ cover. The venue is really nice though, lots of room and plenty of bar space with very friendly bar tenders that are nice and quick! The DJ wasn’t awful but I’m not way into house/techno/super remixed songs so it got repetitive after a bit. All told it was a good night but cost too much.
