Federal Management Company

Anyone researching building management companies should consider this: it is a tough business, and you will be hard pressed to find anyone anywhere who feels they have found the perfect one, a 5-​star situation. There are clearly better matches of management companies and buildings, but few dream relationships. I’ve served on my condominium board, and knowing this, for a long while erred on sticking with the devil you know versus the one you don’t.
Our building was this company’s first owner occupied property and its first market rate property. Federal Management is owned by our building’s developer, Schochet Associates, who retained some property ownership in our association. The board handicapped staying with Federal several ways, several times.
But, after many owner complaints on building upkeep, charge-​back fees, lack of responsiveness and multiple complaints by residents of rudeness by our property manager, we cut bait and moved on.
