I was really looking forward to trying this place. I phoned in order for ribs, family bucket of chicken, mac and cheese, and beans. While placing the order I was told they didn’t have beans today. Okay, no problem, double up on the mac and cheese. We hang up, on my way out the door 10+ minutes later, my phone rings. They are out of chicken! I cancelled the order, it took 10 minutes to realize you had no chicken? The man on the phone apologized and sounded sincere, but if you are going to be serious about being in business as a BBQ place have the chicken and maybe the beans! 1 star because he sincerely apologized. The food is great. The owners are also very friendly kind and helpful. I have always enjoyed this place. I usually go for the half chicken baked with broccoli and yams. Its always delicious! The customer service that I experienced with a woman there was not so good. She was just unfriendly and seemed bothered when I asked her questions about the menu. I didn’t get anything that night because I didn’t want to order from her. Lol… But other than that I recommend this place good quality. :)

Tried this place last night for the first time and was nothing short of impressed! Friendly service, the owner takes pride in his dishes offering samples of their classic sides. I literally tried everything except the potato salad and desserts so I will be back ! Good amount of food for the price. I had the baked mac & cheese, greens(made with turkey) and baked chicken wings. Must try if you’re in the area but they also deliver to as far as JP!

Yesterday we stopped in for lunch. The pulled pork sandwich was really good, just too much of it. Far too many french fries. The food looked and tasted down home style. The salad with bbq pork was good, too. BUT the place needs a good cleaning overall. Paper signs were torn giving the place a shabby appearance. Time to do some maintenance! We were the only ones for lunch between 12 – 1 pm. Service was very slow nut the guys treated us like honored guests.

I told him the hot dogs are extremely salty and the cheese and chili were solid, and everything was so far beyond overcooked I couldn’t tell which hotdogs wad which. So, he said he had no idea what I was talking about because he doesn’t add anything extra to the food. That I’m the one in a million customer to day that to him. He wouldn’t give me my money back. I asked him what happened to the customer being right I’m telling you this food is horrible. I then ended the call. LOOKATTHEPHOTOSPEOPLE. A bit later I called the store and they told me my money was on my way…#neveragain

What a find! Best Barbecue in Massachusetts. Amazing flavor in their dry rub ribs, moist and flavorful. And their sauce, which is served on the side was«off the hook» great! We had the St Louis ribs, baby back, pulled pork, and chicken. Don’t know which was the best, they were all so good. Also, great sides — Collard greens, mac-n-cheese, yams, baked beans. All were very, very tasty. The owner has a lot of passion for his food and customers. Not a big place, in fact, only 3 or 4 tables. But this is great tasting food made with love!

Amazing soul food! The fried chicken, candied yams and mac and cheese were all flavorful and filling. The corn bread on the side was a bite sized piece of heaven. The blue velvet cake was on point and fresh. The serving size was big enough for atleast two people. I wouldn’t be surprised if Duncan Hines stole their cake recipe. it was that good. Great staff and it’s only 1 mile from home. A+

Came here with a friend who lives in Dorchester. I wanted to try their delicious hot dog but I got distracted by their lunch special which had pork rib sandwich. I decided to give this a try. Ribs were very delicious. They were cooked to perfection and meat was so tender and juicy. Fries were also very delicious. I do think that the ribs were kind of cold towards the middle which means they pre-cooked and didn’t warm them enough. My fiancé tried the NC chili dog and it was pretty good. I’m not going to lie though. I’ve had way better hot dogs and I really wouldn’t give this place more than 3 stars… but the guys working there were extremely polite and generous in terms of food portions. If you live or work nearby here, give this place a try. They do have lunch special so that’s a good way to try some of their different choices without spending too much money out of your pocket.

Positives: –friendly service with a smile –Clean –prices are good… –yummy Cole slaw! Best I ever had! –manageable wait time –good corn bread(better if slightly warmed) –simply delicious mac and cheese Negatives: I ordered two plates. First, pulled pork sandwich with fries and slaw. Slaw was bomb, like I said, and the fries were soft, they should have had a crunch. They used Texas toast for the sandwich, which was fine, and the sauce was really good; however, the meat was not pulled pork, which is flavorful, stringy and tender, it can be best described as tidbit-slices that were hard. These tidbit-slices would have been fine if they were tender. My second order was a fried chicken plate. I was given three wings, they tasted okay, nothing spectacular, potato salad was okay, and the Mac and cheese was good. I like a simple mac and cheese and I loved the pepper that was mixed in and the corn muffin. Finally, I think that they should have larger portions with respect to their prices. I plan on returning so that I can have the experience I was looking for. I know I will have a better experience next time when I order some ribs and a dog!

I was really looking forward to trying this place ever since they came through my register at work(cashier at supply store so I know their ingredients are fresh). And I’m sorry to say, I was disappointed at best. The food was made fresh. I watched them peel, slice, batter and fry the onion rings, but they were bland and tasted like fried flour and water. The bacon on my bacon cheddar burger tasted like fresh cooked cardboard and there the«cheddar» was a sauce, not a slice of cheddar as one would expect. And it was lumpy with lumps of the flour used to thicken it. The mac and cheese was ok but had way too much pepper in it. The only bright spot about the whole meal was the mini sweet potato pie they gave me free for waiting for over half an hour. It was obviously homemade, right down to the perfectly lumpy sweet potato filling. All in all I was expecting a lot better for the almost $ 30 I spent. For the quality of what I got, it was way overpriced and I will more than likely be going somewhere else in the future.

This unsuspecting place it a hidden gem. Don’t think that it’s just a hot dog place. It’s a world of culinary delights, all made from scratch. The pulled pork, roast beef, mac & cheese, turkey tips, onion rings(hand cut and battered), fries(from fresh potatoes), mashed potatoes, and veggies are what I’ve had to date. Veggies are steamed/cooked to order too… these have not been sitting all day. Can’t say enough good things about these guys and the food that they produce. Be prepared to wait a little longer than fast food since it’s all being fresh prepared but it’s well worth the 10 minutes.

Coming from Chicago, I know my way around a hot dog. We’re issued them at birth. Which gives me a unique insight into what a good dog is. I wanted to like Handy and Person since it’s right down the street from me. But they fall way short in what a good true dog is. Example: their Chicago dog I thought this would cure my homesickness but it made it worse. For starters, yes a Chicago dog has peppers on it. But SPORT peppers which are like little jalapeño peppers. Not cooked, limp BELL peppers. The tomatoes are supposed to be fresh sliced, not from a can you just opened and dropped on top. And the dog itself should have a snappy casing, not mushy to the teeth. If at all possible have Vienna dogs shipped from Chicago. It will be worth the price and trouble because customers will LOVE the difference. It was the limp texture of the dogs themselves that ruined the other dogs I tried there.(I wanted to be fair and judge them on more than one kind). The curry fries were limp as well(get the oil hot first, guys) and too saturated with curry. I want to go back to see if they’ve improved but something tells me no. To the folks raving now, you have no ideas how much better it will be with better dogs. Seriously, order Vienna dogs.

We shared 4 hot dogs and the curry fries. The hot dogs and toppings were so good and worth the money. Having the choice of chicken, beef, Frankfurt or veggie is also great. We can’t wait to go back!

Went here with my boyfriend a couple of times and the hot dogs were amazing! Great staff, the Mac n cheese was off the hook, an awesome addition to the Adams Village neighborhood. The different kinds of hot dogs are well diverse in flavor. To the Philly dog and the BBQ dog, this place is a must try.

Been 3 times and find myself getting cravings for their Hot Dogs. Gunno go get one now. I forget the names of the dogs ive tried… Ive tried a few. Love the chili cheese dog. They have a great selection of dogs. Great snap & high quality! Haven’t tried the soul food b/c every time I go I get sidetracked by the dogs. But it looks real good. Leaving to go now…
