Not enough meat in these subs. Mostly bread. And prices are high. More veggies than bacon on the Blt is it a bacon lettuce tomatoe or Blt for bread lettuce tomatoe.

Jimmy John’s is awesome but skip this store. I just placed an online order for 5 sandwiches and they messed up each one. Probably a training or management issue with this location, but I expected more when spending nearly 70 bucks.

Now any place that has a glowing neon sign that buzzes«FREESMELLS» automaticlly grabs my attention. Plus the fact that if you mention Jimmy John’s to most people from the midwest they loss their minds. I get it, I am not from the midwest but my obsession to White Castles baffles most people who did not grow up in the tri-state area. This location is near an off-site location that I visit from time to time. It is clean, bright & always well staffed but the food is slightly above medium range. Their large list of options are nice, so if cold cuts aren’t your thing have the tuna instead. Don’t like bread? Get it on a lettuce wrap. The Jimmy chips come in a few nice varieties, jalepeno being my favorite. Nice kettle chips with a little bite. Typical beverage options from Coca Cola but having sweet tea as an option is nice. The main reason why people come here is their sandwiches which tend to be ok at best. The bread is nicely hollowed out some the fillings sit firlmly inside. The flavors are lacking if you are used to a fresh deli sandwich. It is kind of hard to distinguish what is going on in your mouth & all kind of melts together. There are much better options in the city. J. Pace & Sons are located a few blocks away but if you need a quick bite for a resonable price I would come here over most other fast food joints.

What a wonderful place this is. Jimmy John’s is spot on! The food is Amazing, The staff is very nice, service is very fast, prices are affordable. Wow! Jimmy John’s sandwich’s blow all other commercial sandwich joints out of the water. Subway & DeAngelo’s can’t hold a candle to Jimmy John’s. What sets them apart is ease of ordering, freshness & price. The very nice lady at the register at took my order was knowledgeable about the food, she took me through the menu with ease. It was my first time at Jimmy John’s. She made recommendations. She double checked to order to make sure it was right. Since I’m in a Wheelchair and the counter was high she came around to hand me my order & opened the door for me. On the way out at least 4 employee’s said goodbye & have a nice day to me. That me feel good. Jimmy John’s was very clean 2 employees walked around just cleaning. Also they had the fastest ordering I have ever seen. The lady at the register handed me my order back to me with my debt card. Whoa. We were in and out In approx. under 7 minutes. And there were people in line. My order was 2 Subs 2 bags of chips 2 sodas. about $ 25 Large subs are $ 8 Now the Subs were very tasty Portion to price was right on. Well worth it! Fresh, Fresh, Fresh no commercial sub taste here. Veggies were crisp & very fresh, The Meat was perfect, And that Bun. A religious experience. Soft on the inside just enough crust on the outside. Again no commercial taste here. freshly baked. If there is a Jimmy John’s near you, you must try them.

I am not a food snob by any means… but I do not get Jimmy Johns? are they trying to Out Subway… Subway? Whats the value prop here… In other words… why? So I was famished last week. I ordered the turkey, lettuce and tomato. The bread is supposedly fresh, but I did not notice. It had two slices of mediocre turkey, shredded low end lettuce and a few unripe tomatoes I chucked out half… and it is not more basic than a turkey sub

Good quick sandwich. The organization of the waiting line and stuff is weird but once you get ordered you’re all good. Here for a conference at the BCEC and just needed a quick nosh and this was perfect. In, eat, and out in 20 tops.

Came in around noon on a Monday to surprisingly not find any line, even though they had about 12 people working to hammer out orders to be delivered for lunch. Typically Jimmy John’s as far as the food goes. They’re always consistent so you know what you’re going to get. The staff was super friendly on my arrival and exit, and my sandwich was done before I could even fill up my drink. Best of all, it was literally steps outside of my hotel door(The Westin) so I didn’t have to go too far.

This review is based on my CUSTOMERSERVICE experience ONLY! My husband and I are frequent flyers at this particular location and the customer service, or lack there of, is subpar at best. There is one worker in particular(who shall remain nameless and without a picture due to Unilocal’s «rules») that, in my opinion, should find a new job immediately and one that requires ZERO interaction with other human beings. She appears to hate life, NEVER says hello back, and gives you an evil demon death stare during the duration of placing your order. If you ask her a question, she shrugs at you… Does a shrug mean yes or no?! TBD. Anyways, after that debacle, we proceeded to eat our sandwiches which btw, were delicious! When we finished, my husband proceeded to clean our mess up,(like educated human beings do) only the garbage can was being covered by two giant rugs, so he attempted to move them ever so slightly in order to throw our garbage away and that ever so «friendly» worker was not very happy about it. She told him that the rugs were there for a reason and that the garbage can wasn’t to be used because they had emptied it for the night… MYBAD! We like to laugh about the situation while we’re there but the truth is, she’s an incredibly rude and uneducated individual who shouldn’t be working in any type of customer service role where she has to physically interact with people. This is not the first time that we’ve had that experience with her. In hopes that her manager sees this, we were there on Saturday, July 25th @ 845pm!(She’s the one with really short hair!) P. S. We will not be back to this location, we’ll take our business elsewhere.

Love Jimmy John’s and pumped they have one in Southie. Take it from a guy from Texas, get the Beach Club. Don’t go with something like the Italian, because it’s not going to compete with the good sandwich places here in the Northeast.

I’m typically a fan of Jimmy John’s…usually good service and the food is decent. If you place a take-out order, note that there is no seperate window to pick up your order and pay. I phoned in my order on a Sunday afternoon and went to the register to pay. Unfortunately, there was a line of about 50 people waiting to place their orders and when I asked if I needed to go to the end of the line the woman at the register just shrugged. I asked again as I didn’t know what that meant and she said I had to go to the end of the line. I then asked her what the point was of placing a take out order and she shrugged again. Through out all of this, my order was sitting right in front of her and I asked if she could ring me up and she said no. Given I was tight on time I told her to cancel my order and I left. I’ll likley go back, but I’m a ltitle weary of the customer service, they seemed overwhelmed.

Online ordering was down. Put my order in and went all the way there to tell me the system was down and my order was never received. Then they also say their credit card machine is not working so I leave and don’t get the food I was so excited for. no offer to make it better nada. I was so excited to try this place too!

Jimmy John’s waxes nostalgia like a skilled hoagie craftsman waxes ‘wiches with mayo: lightly and with the best intentions. The rundown is pretty basic. From left to right, your sandwich options become increasingly complex, and therefore, increasingly expensive. Slims have a single meat, no veggies. Then you’ve got your $ 5.75 options with a meat and veggies. Next up, 2+ meat combos with cheese and exotic veggies toppings(sprouts! Avocado!) for $ 7.75. Finally, the Gargantuan, which could be explained by using the word«every» repeatedly, but I bet you get my drift, so I’ll let you discover it for yourself. All options default on an 8 inch French loaf, baked in house daily. My Italian Night Club pairs ham with assorted salamis, and splashes the hot mess with house-made vinaigrette in addition to mayo, and all the veggies you handle. Fair warning, Helmann’s haters; the white stuff is on every option, so if you want to avoid it, you better tell ‘em. The bread is hours old, and feels fresh in addition to giving good chew. I distinctly remember there being more meat on the sandwich(is this a franchise thing, or have volumes dropped institutionally?), and this location has a horrible layout to handle the lunch rush, so stick with grab&go. Be sure to get a pickle — they’re huge! Question to the hive mind: did they stop tearing the insides of the loaves out? That was my favorite part of the JJ experience!

I had to work in Boston for three weeks. I’m originally from NY so I didn’t know the area at all. Since Jimmy John’s was right around the corner from our office, we went very often. I’m not a big cold sandwich person but I enjoyed their sandwiches a lot! They have such fun names for their sandwiches so it makes it interesting. I’ve tried several different sandwiches, they’re all very good! What I love the most? Their BBQ chips; I don’t know, I’m addicted to them! Now that I’m back in NY with no Jimmy John’s, I just keep thinking about them. It helped make my Boston trip much more fun!

This place is terrible. Skimpy sandwiches. you can see through the roast beef. They are opening up in brighton… brighton people are smarting then falling for this poor excuse for a sandwich shop. We have tons of competition. They will fail. I don’t know what they wee thinking. Being next to a McDonald’s, two blocks from a subway and of course legendary Big Daddys. Good luck!

Not satisfied at all. Stopped by for lunch today. Had no time to read the menu and see what’s good, so I asked for recommendation, which I ve never received, because employees were busy talking to each other and only said that turkey is good. Everybody was laughing out loud. Doesn’t look like that place has a manager on duty. Food was not fresh enough and also the portion was small for what you pay for. Bread is suppose to be fresh but tasted like it was couple of days old. You can tell even by looking at it… overall experience is really bad.

I was excited to hear that Jimmy Johns opened in the seaport. That area could really use a good, affordable sandwich shop. I have seen the funny commercials for years and I read the Unilocal reviews. I was really looking forward to finding a Subway alternative. I ordered the #5 its called the VITO and it’s their version of an Italian sub. The service was fast, the place was clean, the employee’s were friendly and the chips were good but my sandwich was bland and there was not much meat. The bread was ok but I personally think Papa Gino’s has a better sub roll. I’m not saying that I’ll never go back here again but there are so many good sandwich shops in Boston that I would need to be very hungry and very short on time for me to give them a second chance. Hopefully they figure out why their sandwiches are so bland, it might have something to do with the amount of meat they use, I’m not sure what’s missing They have everything they need to become the new hot lunch spot.

I lied. I’ve been back. It was better the second time when you can order exactly what you want. Cheap, easy, simple… good for in a pinch. Wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there.

I travel alot for work and I was pretty excited when a Jimmy John’s was finally opening in the NorthEast US. Always had a great sub there in many different parts of the country. Unfortunately, this franchisee owner doesn’t care to keep the reputation going. Try putting some meat on the sandwiches! This might have been the leanest sub or sandwich I’ve ever had! Disappointing. I seem to remember the sandwiches being alot better elsewhere. Also, you really need to add a local condiment like crushed red pepper. It is a simple little thing but tastes ALOT better than pickled peppers when you ask for«hots». Pickled peppers aren’t hot, just pickled. The place is small and a little hard to get into and when you are at the counter, you feel a little like you are going to fall out the door. The bread and JJ chips are good, as usual. Décor is the usual Jimmy John’s and it is nice and clean. Too bad the main reason for going, the sandwiches are severely lacking. Can be fixed tho. I’ll goto a local South Boston sub shop instead every day until then.

Finally we have one here in Boston! I used to frequent Jimmy Johns back in Indiana and this just brings back memories. The bread is awesome. It’s soft but has a firm skin. Jimmy johns is what it is; a chain sub shop with great options and ingredients. It is not the mom and pops sub shop with a grill against the back wall. If you’re looking for a cheesesteak or chicken parm, go elsewhere. Of the 6 or 7JJ’s I have been to, they have always been fast, consistent, and clean. What I recommend. The Vito, Hunter’s Club, or if for some sick reason you refuse to eat dead animals you can get the vegetarian with sprouts(kidding!). All good choices Never pass up the chips. They are the bomb unless you have a peanut allergy cause the chips are cooked in peanut oil. I’m sure you nut haters can still eat there cause the chips are packaged elsewhere. When are we gonna get the funny radio commercials?

Jimmy John’s is a big deal. This direct competitor to Subway is expanding and this newly opened Southie location is the first of what could be multiple Massachusetts locations. They have a pretty big following, especially in the South and while Subway had more locations, JJs is giving them a pretty good run for their money. This location on D Street is almost adjacent to the Boston Convention Center and is across from the ‘Lawn on D’ patch of grass. It’s not very spacious but it works and service there is top notch. Despite it’s very narrow, poorly designed layout, they are able to operate quickly and by quickly I mean that I probably didn’t spend more than 90 seconds there on each of my two visits there which I think is rather impressive. Their selection is pretty varied and highly customizable if you want it that way. You order, you pay and instants later, your sandwich has been made, wrapped and is handed over to you. The couple times that I’ve been the sandwiches have been very tasty and perfectly sized. The bread is terrific and holds up well to the condiments and provides a nice contrast to the ingredients as well. Slightly but not overly chewy. They don’t have much else besides sandwiches, chips, sodas and cookies, but it works. They have different categories of sandwiches as well. They have the ‘thins’ which are the basic ones, they have their popular 8″ subs and also their giant club sandwiches. Oh and they also have a signature one called the ‘J.J. Gargantuan’ which features Genoa salami, smoked ham, capicola, roast beef turkey and provolone alongside various toppings. It’s not for the faint of heart. All in all this place is great and my only complaint is that the door is located a few feet, directly in front of the registers where people are ordering which isn’t ideal for the flow inside, especially when it’s busy. Oh and I also wish they cut the sandwiches in half, a sentiment that a co-worker of mine also shares. But that aside the place is great and I hope that more of them will flourish within Boston(or Waltham. Come to Waltham please!) as I find them to be much, much better than Subway, Quiznos and other chains of the likes.
