Yes, this one definitely falls under the ‘oh my. I mean OHNONONONO!’ bracket. Came here for after work drinks on a really crazy day. The place is quite polished if you consider the décor and the lighting and the exterior as such. Not to forget the location. But that is where the story pretty much ends. The least you expect from a downtown bar is good service. And I totally get that it is summer in the city and everyone is out and about and having a good ol time. That is where good establishments do know how to up their games. Or not in this case. We were four of us and managed to grab the attention of one of the waiters. But that is all we were really successful at. The service was super slow. Our first round of drinks came and we really had to go looking for someone who could come and check if we were interested in anything else. Again, agreed it was a busy night. But looking around we felt as if everyone was being met with the same kind of service. I was kind of embarrassed to be taking out, one of my out of town coworkers. I wish I had realized how mediocre this place really was the first time I was here ages ago. But wanted to give it another shot. Anyways. We did not waste much time and made a quick decision to try another busy place on a beautiful night out in the city — to much success. Very disappointing. No more words.

I wish I had the option to not give this bar any stars. Last night 3÷20÷15 my friends and I went out for my sisters 21st birthday. Olivia, the very polite special events coordinator informed us that we would be able to come into the bar without paying a cover as long as we said we were on Olivia’s list. When we entered the bar the«workers» who were collecting the money would not let us in without paying a 10 dollar cover, even though we showed them the emails and text from her. They were so rude and unprofessional. They were underdressed and had awful attitudes. They kept saying that they didn’t know who Olivia was and that the texts and emails didn’t mean anything to them. After we called Olivia she sent a manager down who informed us that they didn’t even work here and we’re just people who rent out the bar to make a profit. We left to go to howl at the moon down the street and had a much better experience. We will never go to this bar again just because this one experience.

Sent this to the management of this shitty place: You have terrible customer service and awful reviews because of it — maybe do something about it? You aren’t a swanky cool 5 star new york club that can be pretentious and get away with it. My friend and I walked in last night at 12:02 am and were forced to pay $ 15 each even though before midnight was $ 10. I understand rules but the bouncer was a complete asshole about it which was unnecessary. Drinks were terrible and so was customer service at the bar and we left after literally 5 minutes. I would pay YOU the shit $ 15 cover just to NOT stay here for another minute. We’ll stick with people who treat their customers with respect :)

I was redirected here from Nix’s Mate at the HIlton after buying a ticket online for the mayweather-pacquiao fight through Tablelist. I arrived to find several projector screens and a very pixelated feed with no sound that was suspicious for ill– live streaming. I promptly left with some game chaps and am waiting for my money back. All I can say is that whoever manages this place could use a good #Mexicanlivershot.

The décor inside is the only thing that deserves a star. This place has atrocious management and bouncers. Never coming here again. I suggest everyone else stay away too.

Drinks are awful and ridiculously over priced… $ 14 for the Mahhhtinez which tastes like cologne cocktail. My friend and i walked in on a very very slow Wednesday night and everyone who worked at the establishment was sitting at the bar. They stared at us as if we were the new city slickers in town in an old west saloon. The bartenders were rude and not very approachable. My friend and i weren’t fans of the initial drinks but we toughed it out since they were so pricey. We figured we’d give it one more shot to see if anything else would be better. We asked the bartender what the signature drink of the establishment was and she said: «We don’t have one.» So, this place is called Julep Bar and the bartenders don’t even suggest i order 1 of the several Juelp drinks on the menu??? We ended up going with the caramel appletini. It was not very impressive either. After $ 60 + tip it left me longing for the days when this was Revolution Rockbar. The prices were similar but the quality of the drinks was a little better. Please also note the filthy menu we were handed… Yuck! Two stars for the décor and the décor only.

Just came back from a night out here and I feel like the people who gave terrible reviews are slightly out of their realm in Boston… Yes, there are women walking around in pants and«bras». They are the waitresses. Pretty things = better tips. Yes, there are young, barely dressed women and young men ogling them. This IS a clubbish bar so again, what do you expect? Frumpy mom-looking women and prudish men? The bouncers in our experience were wicked nice, not douchey… which is a rare find in Boston. I was actually pleased. Even the female patrons were NICE, which never happens in Boston. Music was AWESOME. Seriously, we had so much fun. I would totally come back… this place made me feel young again! ;) One con I guess… the bartenders did seem a little inexperienced. The drinks tasted fine(disclaimer: I’m not a drink snob) but they seemed unsure of what types of liquor they had back there. No biggie, but others might flip their lid over something like that…

I WASPHYSICALLYASSAULTEDBY A BOUNCERBECAUSE I WASONTHESTAIRWAY!!! Yes you read it right, a bouncer strangled me and pushed me to the wall in the club! I had to call the cops. Needless to stay it was the worst night out. This is how safe you are at this horrible douchey place. I am pretty sure all the previous reviews about this place is true.

Worse place in Boston by far! Place was small with sticky floors. Bouncer was rude and degrading. Bartenders were amateurs, snobby and very rude too! They seem to think they are gods gift to earth. Drinks were full of ice and weak. Unsure who owns this place but they should consider hiring a whole new staff. Music was ok. Typical club music. No remix. It’s too late for me to bring back my ruined night but you can still save yours-go elsewhere and make some fun memories. Avoid this scum.

Reserved table at Julep on New Years Eve 2013 – 2014. Paid in cash in advance.($ 1300) Table was given to other guest. Neither the club, nor Oxford Group(promoter) had decency for professional apology or a professional refund. Was only refunded for 3 pre-paid bottles of the champagne. Oxford Group did not refund six people cover($ 800, $ 125 each plus self-made $ 50 tip/taxes) claiming we decided to stay in club and enjoyed the show hence no refund. Member(s) of Oxford Group promised to comp us a bottle of liquor if did return back to Julep during 2014-which was never delivered, i did come back on March 2014, the promised free bottle was never delivered, all i heard was«Oh sorry, i wish you were here some other night-sorry i couldn’t do it tonight» I wish you all the best and i’m glad business is booming for you. Others be aware!

Place sucks. Went for a bachelorette & had to get bottle service in order to sit on a lame couch. Just call me Jay-Z. That stuff is for the birds. «VIP» area smelled like dirty feet. Give me a break.

I showed up with 9 friends, mostly girls. All had flip flops on. I, a male, had flip flops on, and they didn’t let me in. I am never coming back again, and neither are my friends.

One star is being generous… There was a 20 buck cover. Awful music. I didn’t even bother to look at the drink menu because I could only imagine how much it would cost. Also the dress code was dress to impress according to the website which I would assume normally clothing to some extent, not people walking around in their bra… I mean come on.

I attended an event here and the environment was casual and comfortable with just a touch of when pretension from 2010. I liked the mix of comfortable seating and high tables allowed for mixing. I ordered a gin and tonic with extra lime and to my surprise the drink was well balanced and they actually understood that when I ask for extra lime I mean please put at least 2 slices of lime in my drink. I would go back for drinks.

Okay, so perhaps if I had to wait in line, pay the $ 20 cover or purchase my own booze, I would be fussy abt Julep too — after 11p, it looks like it takes a hella long time for the bouncers to deign to let you in, that cover is ridiculous given that we’re in Boston, and actually, the booze isn’t too pricey, so whatever — I digress — however, as none of that was the case — as I have an appreciation of dancing around to Top 40s mixed w some of pop hip-hops best hits(here’s to you, ODB, and RIP bro) — I would go out at Julep again — I think… Well, let me qualify that — if I were to go out again to celebrate the beautiful engagement of one JD to CS, getting drizzunk here would be an outstanding option as I’d be surrounded by friends all being silly together — but in general, I’m not Julep’s prime customer — based on what I saw, here is who will like Julep: 1) Ladies with a penchant for«dresses» so short that I can confirm that at least ½ the female population in there had declared it a panty-free Friday. I’m pretty sure I saw more strange vag last night than I will during my ob-gyn rotation. 2) If you’re a dude who likes wasted girls in aforementioned garb hanging on you. 3) If you are clearly less obnoxious than I am abt how others present themselves and are just looking to like let your hair down, girl, b/c like, why not, you were too good for him anyway, and that other girl he’s with is totally a ho — it seems like the type of place I’d want to go to prance around with my GFs and be in a position to make questionable life decisions. Oh, the bar is always mobbed… be prepared to drop a ‘bow to get service. Nevertheless, I had a blast — I don’t know what it’s like to actually try to «score» at Julep, which, I assume, is why people come — but if that’s your goal, it can probably be done… and relatively cheaply too, if you stay clear of the cocktails. Beers are $ 5 – 9, most wines are $ 10 – 15 — their juleps/high balls/etc are all around $ 12 – 14 — I have zero idea how these taste… but given that one of the options is a white chocolate julep w bourbon, mint, frangelico, white chocolate liqueur, and fresh lime juice… I am suspicious.

Horrifying service, I thought they were kidding but then they poured my drink out and still charged me $ 9 for it. Any review on here 4 stars or more is fake and probably written by a staff member. From the DJ to the waitresses it was a bad experience overall, it was like they had just had a staff meeting prior to our arrival and told everyone to treat us badly.

If could have given zero starts, I would have. Went into Julep Bar after work for a happy hour with co-workers. I was surprised to find only a few people sitting at the bar, the place was otherwise empty. In our party, three guys ordered johnny walker, one of the girls I was with ordered a glass of sparkling wine, and I ordered an old fashioned. The server came back with my old fashioned(tasted nothing like an old fashioned), one glass of johnny walker with 3 melted ice cubes, and a glass of riesling. She informed the men the bar had run out of johnny walker. She then told my friend who ordered sparkling wine that they had also run out of sparkling wine, but that the bartender gave her a riesling instead. Riesling? I’m sorry, but riesling is in no way similar to sparkling wine. I would also prefer for a bartender to give me the option before pouring me something that is not at all similar to what I asked for in the first place. The server had no idea what other kind of scotches were available — but instead of saying that, she guessed multiple times and kept coming back to our table to tell us they«just ran out». On top of the poor service, there were fruit flies everywhere, and the«lounge» area smelled like old feet. No thanks.

Despite the stars, I did like this place for several reasons but other things were just too hard to overlook. The setup is nice and the place is comfortably packed with a nice ratio of guys/girls. The crowd was cool and my gf and our friends had a good time. The bar has a nice design aesthetic. The service and bartenders were good until I got my check. I ordered a total of 2 gin and tonics and 2 Amaretto sours served in plastic cups(classy places don’t do that regardless). My unitemized(red flag here) came out to $ 48 bucks. Really? For drinks made with well liquor that at best should have been $ 8. I didn’t bother arguing because it took forever to get my tab and I wanted to get out of there at that point. The downside is that they perceive themselves to be more elite that they really are when it comes to pricing. A $ 10 cover close to 11pm on a weekend when the club is not clearly packed? Come on now! This place will never be known for it’s food and the drinks and selection aren’t anything special than what you’d get at any TGI Friday’s or any other bar. Supposedly you can get food here, but it doesn’t seem like a place that will ever known for it’s cuisine. It’s MEH at best.

Great addition to the financial district lounge/restaurant scene. This place shares the kitchen with Blue Inc from around the corner and uses the same blue haired chef from Gordon Ramsey’s Master Chef. The décor here is definitely dark and loungey. Here is what I had: Buffalo Duck Drumsticks: if you like dark meat you’ll love these. It wasn’t too spicy and came topped with a celery and blue cheese salad. The meat was a little chewy. Definitely better to not eat with your hands. Shortrib Sliders: These things were awesome. Perfect Shortrib at only $ 3 a pop a bargain and a perfect companion for a night of drinking.
