Stopped in for breakfast and had a terrific plate of huevos rancheros for $ 9. Loved the extra touches like the green salad with red cabbage salsa(brined in lime juice with oregano.) Relaxed and friendly place.

Halloween took us to Boston/Salem and the hunt for vegan was on! What a great surprise to find this gem. Very tiny very relaxed very good breakfast! We sat at a table for two that was basically in the kitchen and enjoyed the view! Only made us hungrier. The happy works added to the charm. Don’t be in a rush they work at a relaxed pace(coming from NYC was refreshing) The breakfast sandwich was AMAZING! If your near, don’t think twice… go! Yum yum!

Found this little gem on Unilocal.Literally the most amazing, fresh food. The ladies there are so nice and cook everything fresh from scratch. I had the veggie burger over greens and it’s so flavorful! The prices are very inexpensive for the quality of the food. I highly recommend that this is a must try!

It’s a little out of the way, but has pretty good food. The décor is very homey, and the place is small and intimate. There are books to read through if you have time, and the kitchen is right there near the eating area.

A vegan place in Eastie? I’m so thankful. I live in a neighboring town so to be able to do a quick little drive for something healthy and delicious is awesome. Ambiance is cute, and the concept is great but there are a lot of concerns and inconsistencies each and every time we visit that make us say«no more» every time we leave. I want this place to do well and thrive, but they have a lot of things to work on, as well as their vibe. I don’t know if it’s the people or waitress in particular, but the vibe and awkwardness is just off. Visit 1: The first time we went there we got a sampler on a special tasting night. 3⁄5 of the dishes were delicious, others were way too oily. There was some confusion about the order and waitress kept coming back to ask questions about said order while they were cooking it(might be because they don’t write down orders) no big deal really. We also ordered a mango something smoothie, which tasted like water. Literally no mango or fruit flavor expect a very slight hint of banana. It was a bummer. Visit 2: Ordered the summer rolls and 2 veggie burgers. Summer rolls were delicious and the first wee bit of peanut sauce we got with it was amazing. Ran out of said sauce after 3 bites, asked for more sauce and the second serving was completely different(look and taste) than the first. Boyfriend did not like the second at all. I had asked for gluten free bread with mine, which I got. My boyfriend did not ask for gluten as he has no preference, but he was served gluten free as well. His two top pieces of bread(his burger was cut cut in half, mine not) was the dreaded end pieces of the bread, and the bottom of the burger there was virtually no bread. It was as if there was no bread left so she panicked and tried to hide it. She said a little spiel about the gluten free bread being soft and small so she had to cut his? Which indicated she knew there was an issue with the bread. Had to eat his burger with a spoon. It look a very long while for us to receive our check or to be asked if we’re finished. Visit 3: Boyfriend was unsatisfied by his oily churiso taco plate. My summer rolls were good, but my miso soup had dead bugs in it. I grow kale at home so I know kale can easily be infested, but idk, they can be properly washed to rid of bugs. The lady who gave us the check made a huge error ringing us up we later learned. Bill came to $ 20 something, boyfriend handed her $ 21. She gave us $ 19 back. Our third visit we noticed that the 2 ladies or the 2 gentlemen who handle the food do not use gloves while preparing or cooking. I saw one of the guys make my summer roll with no gloves, when before he had his hands in his pocket. Yes this place has good food and I want them to thrive. but the consistency, effort, and basic business knowledge needs to be worked on.

This adorable little place has tons of creative, quality, healthy food. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating to food requests. Everything is fresh and prepared on the spot. Vegan and GF options, all very delicious. It’s not easy to find healthy spots like this in Eastie. I had a wonderful brunch and will for sure be back again many more times.

I was staying overnight at the Boston Hyatt Airport and didn’t want hotel food, so I found La Sanghita on Unilocal.Lucky me, it was Monday night, so it was open a bit later, and it turned out to be just a 10 minute walk along the harbor. The moment I walked in, I loved the vibe of the place. Only 4 or 5 tables, lots of different art and cool books around, and a very large menu of delicious options. I had a hard time deciding, so I went with the sampler(note: the price has increased recently to $ 20 for the 5-item plus a drink sampler). But, the portions were very generous and I still think it was a great deal for an organic meal that felt home-cooked just for me. I was tired, so I asked for my dinner to go. Monica was very nice and asked me about ingredient preferences along the way while the staff was preparing the food. Everything I tried was AMAZING! Monica had recommended the veggie burger. I like veggie burgers, but didn’t really feel like one that night. I’m so glad I took the recommendation, because it was the best veggie burger I’ve ever tasted. Less traditional – the potatoes and cashew cheese spread gave it a wonderful flavor. I also had the pad thai, red curry, spring rolls, and pear fritters. Everything was really well crafted and super tasty with interesting flavors. The avocado in the spring rolls was on the hard side, so I picked that out, but there was more food than I could finish anyway. The meal was one of the best restaurant dinners I’ve eaten in a long time… so I went back for breakfast the next morning! For breakfast, I ordered the crêpe and a coffee. The crêpe itself was delicious! And it came with a fresh fruit and coconut mixture that went perfectly with it. As I waited for my meal, I read one of their yoga magazines. All of the staff were friendly and very laid back, which I liked a lot. I felt comfortable just hanging out and doing my thing, kind of like I was just relaxing at a good friend’s house. Thank you Monica and thanks to everyone at La Sanghita for this wonderful experience! I wish I could take you guys back to DC with me :-).

Ok what’s with all the four and five star reviews? Family and friends? I just moved to east boston down the street from here and walked in for an iced coffee… no problem… many minutes later… after stirring my coffee and talking to another girl that worked there… stirring and talking… stirring and talking… adding a little of this and a little of that… she came back with two small cups of something with no ice in it… out of large cups… but whatever was in these cups was no where near iced coffee… I politely declined and she didn’t get it… completely confused… I took a banana and left… meanwhile a single guy sitting at a table is getting freaked watching… as I am leaving I hear him saying.‘is this gonna take a while’ OHYESITIS !!! I’m totally down for a small business succeeding but the creep factor in this place is through the roof… weird vibe… maybe it’s just a vegan thing… but if they want to be in business in a year they better make some serious changes. Sorry just being honest.

Off the beaten path, but worth the trek. I was in Boston visiting some friends and this was closest vegan eatery. The food here is reasonably priced and delicious. Perfect sized portions and the rice & beans are crazy good.

What a hidden gem. We are visiting Boston from CO. We were on a morning walk and noticed this café was opening up, and headed over after our walk. Two vegetarians and a chef, and we were all happy! The huevos rancheros were for the meat eater, and he loved them stating the beans and rice as his favorite. The French toast had a delicious sweet and light flavor, and breakfast sandy was amazing, I recommend getting it with organic eggs and cashew cheese spread.

What a wonderful experience! We stayed at the air bnb with Monica next door(also great!) and came to have breakfast(included in the air bnb). It was a lovely bright little café and as vegetarians we were so pleased at the fresh and local menu and ingredients. I had the veggie scramble and my partner had the sandy. It was fast and delicious. Would recommend this to anyone for a tasty and thoughtful meal.

It’s a vegan place in East Boston! They still have a lot to work on. And I don’t think they really deserve 5 stars, but I want them to succeed and flourish, so 5 stars it is. The Pros: Vegan! Books to read while you wait(and you will wait). The food is tasty and inexpensive. You may want to consider an order and a side dish if you’re hungry. The Cons: I feel like the staff are playing restaurant. They don’t seem to know the basics. When you walk in no one says hi, or asks you to take a seat, or even makes eye contact. Which means you are left awkwardly standing in the doorway for a few minutes until you decide to sit all on your own. In addition to lunch I ordered a smoothie, which they forgot. When they remembered they had to come back and say they didn’t have the ingredients. Then they suggested something else. Then they made that something else wrong. The smoothie was still fine, but they wait and cook staff have a lot of improving to do. And the orders take a long time, be sure you sit back and relax or the delay will get annoying. Bottom line I’ll be back, but I really hope they stream line things.

Finally tried this new(7mos old) neighborhood café — it was great. I’m not a vegan, or even a vegetarian but the menu was diverse and interesting. I liked that they have a sampler option so you can try several dishes. Portions, for the price, are generous and the people running the café were really friendly. It’s really cozy inside and I looked forward to trying their smoothies and bringing a book to chill inside next time!

Oh my gaaaaaawwwwwddd!!! If I could marry a restaurant, this would be it. Healthy, delicious affordable. I feel like I am coming home after a long day of hard work only to be greeted with kindness, love and good noms. I recommend the sampler. This is a type of place you have good conversation and not be in a rush because this is a chill place. I got a HUGE smoothie for $ 5(but there is a $ 2.50 option). I bought the $ 12 sampler too and it felt like like a 5 course meal.

I recently moved to east Boston and as a vegan it has been difficult finding affordable, cozy places to eat. This place totally restored my faith in the neighborhood. The portions were massive for the price and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. It’s so welcoming and quaint I would recommend it to anyone!

I spent a week in East Boston and tried the WHOLE Sanghita Menu — unfortunately I don’t remember everything I ate… La Sanghita is about 3 months old, and their menu is bomb-diggity! The vibe feels like you’re in somebody’s home — it’s very cozy and comfortable, which I like. There is a small library with some excellent books about everything, plus there is a kid’s area, so it is a kid friendly restaurant too! Everyone who works there cooks with love and care. It is a co-op after all! Their food is mostly vegetarian, vegan. The food tastes healthy but not in a pretentious way — it’s really good! –French Toast — yummy! Sweet and rich, the maple syrup is fresh legit syrup, not that aunt jemima crap. –Beet salad. Excellent. Tasty crunch, yummy house dressing, and fresh veggies. –Pad Thai. The peanut sauce is delicious. This is a good gluten free option too, since it is rice pasta. –Tacos. My favorite on the menu. They are made with soy chorizo which tastes almost identical to pork chorizo. It’s yummmmy. Try it with hot sauce! –Chia pudding. Not too sweet, a nice rich dessert La Sanghita is a gem in East Boston. Plus it’s right by the airport, so if you have a layover or work at the airport it’s a great spot to check out!

I recently moved to East Boston and was delighted to find La Sanghita in researching vegan cafes. Following the café on FB got me even more excited. My husband and I decided to take a long walk this weekend and we mosied down to check it out. We were really interested in just checking out the space and grabbing a smoothie. We walked in and were immediately confused. No one greeted us(even after a few minutes) and we didn’t know whether to wait or sit down. We decided to sit and someone approached. The moment got even more awkward when we asked for just one smoothie. We both agreed that it seemed that we weren’t welcomed and that we were a bother because we didn’t want a meal. The smoothie was delightful, but the experience was definitely poor. I’m sure I’ll try again, but my husband won’t be back.

Absolutely charming place and delicious food! It’s everything a lunch(and, it seems, catering and soon supper) spot should be, with a laid-back atmosphere and a great range of great food. La Sanghita is there for the whole community. If you can afford to, pay closer to what you would for their delights elsewhere(two-to-three times their prices) and help them stay a place for the whole community! The only worker-cooperative restaurant in Boston, the worker-owners pay attention to both health(for you) and justice(for farmworkers) for the ingredients from which they make inspired meals. Go, and enjoy, this bilingual«community of people supporting themselves & each other in making healthy mindful decisions» /«una comunidad de personas apoyandose a si mismo y a los demás en hacer decisiones saludables y con la atención plena».
