I am a former sneaker/shoe collector and every time I am on vacation I am always on the look out for places like these. When I found it online I looked like a neat and organized street wear shop, What I got when I arrived was completely different. The whole staff was in the back room smoking pot, The whole place reeked of marijuana. I was immediately escorted out and told they were closed. Marijuana doesn’t bother me but I find it unacceptable that these people were smoking inside their place of business. Thanks, but no thanks.

Nice little snowboard shop in the back of the shop. Immediately upon walking in they announced to me that outerwear was steeply discounted, which is what I came in for. Usually, small shops in the city are super overpriced. If they keep their prices reasonable, people will come!

Just a regular sneaker apparel store that is mostly comprised of Dunks. Sometimes have a few events here and there but nothing too crazy about this place.

Overpriced and they take way too much when you do consignment($ 50 off the price sold). I’ve done business with them over the years, but they have definitely changed to my surprise. They’re selection is a little bit bigger than the one at my house, but they’ve improved by added overpriced hoodies that have their name emblazoned on them. Sad to say, will not be returning to do any further business here, especially after the homophobic remarks made from their online account, including, but not limited to, the use of «f*gg*t» as an insult, with them justifying it as they«have family members who are openly gay». That’s like using the n-word and saying it’s ok because«you have black friends.» Not good business practices, never mind the fact that it’s overpriced. I’ll be at ATB from now on…

Great store, Great product, Great people. They even have a ton of fun exciting events. Check it out! Don’t be scared off by any of the negative reviews; they are from years ago and the store is under new management now anyways.

I’ve been checking this place out about once every year or two if I just happen to be passing by. Every time I hope they’ve gone through some major change, and every time I’m disappointed. I’ve never seen anything at Laced that I couldn’t get somewhere else. Not so limited edition. Most of their items are overpriced, and they carry things that are several seasons old that nobody wants without even putting them on sale. Apparently they’ve got some new ownership. They seem like a bunch of streetwear rookies who got into the game too late to really understand it. If you want the good stuff, walk a few blocks up to Bodega.

What happened to Alex? I went on their website and its a Skate Board shop now? It used to be hip hip and I’d buy for my nephew, now its skater dude? Is this the same store?

Best place while shopping in the South End for copping the freshest gear. I’ve heard some pretty iffy stories about LACED before so I was a bit hesitant to check the place out, but upon my first time there recently, I found out that it had gone under new management so I figured why not check it out. By FAR my newest favorite place to shop while in the area! Suave/Hip décor, for a tiny space they know how to make it look cozy and shoppable while at the same time still able to make it have its own distinct look. They carry most major brands as well as a couple indie brands. They also stock the latest Jordans, dunks, and sbs. Recently they merged with their other shop, BoardRoom Boston, and they now carry some the illest skateboard decks and gears within the area. The staff has always been friendly and helpful whenever I was there, always seeing if I needed help and always down to hold a good conversation about the latest releases/brands. Definitely pleased with LACED and its new ownership! A hidden gem among urban apparel.

I walk in, and I am the only customer on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The music selection playing is about the most offensive selection possible, a rapper screaming f*** you f*gg*t again and again and again. Being straight but not narrow, I head right to the door. I tell the woman at the counter that the music is especially offensive. She says, ‘yeah, but we have to play it.’ I respond ‘in THIS neighborhood?!‘ Look, you’re located in the South End, one of the first and strongest safe havens that the gay community established in the region. So for a store to ‘have to’ play that garbage is little different than setting up shop in Mattapan and playing music to specifically offend Haitians. You just don’t do it. I know half the designers whose work you sell, and I don’t think any would be happy about this. And really, guys, do you honestly think that offending gay men is a good business move when you sell designer shoes? This is just a business Darwin award winner here. Go to Bodega if in the market for nice sneakers.

Meh. Located only ten or fifteen minutes walking distance from Bodega, my brother and I took a trip down Mass Ave and experienced, with no disrespect to Charles Dickens, a Tale of Two Stores. Bodega was packed with new August releases and a conducive atmosphere to buying new kicks; helpful staff and a good selection. Laced? Not so much. If this place didn’t have one of two NikeSB accounts in Boston, it would have been even less. My brother and I were the only people in the store on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Where are all the customers? I had made a trip to Laced a couple weeks before, and the whole time I was forced to listen to the owner talk to a friend about how he had ‘bought smart’ and what a great job he does operating his own business. Ugh. Mediocre selection of kicks, better selection of t-shirts. Try Bodega first, or Concepts for NikeSBs. 2 ½ stars.

Laced, quite the store ever since the last time I was there. spongebob left. They overprice many things such as old sb’s that are ugly and have not even been selling. They buzz you in like a jewelry store. Yes, like a jewelry store. this is just sneakers. ‘Spungie’ likes to give people his big attitude/HUGEego. I was checking out a jacket one time and he mentions out of nowhere«if you got the money dogggg.» I def did not want to hear that from him, that was simply an unecessary comment. Seems like he despises of ‘hypebeasts’ when he is the 30 year old man who thinks he knows everything he is talking about. I’m only giving a 2 star rating because of their SB «box sale» last summer which they did have some goodstuff for box prices of course. And he left ever since my last visit so things MUST be better. ohyeah i forgot they do get most if not all sb’s if thats what you are looking for as well as bbc/ice cream stuff. just overpriced unfortunately.

I am surprised that everyone is giving shit to this store. Who cares about the buzzer, it wasn’t a big deal to buzz and get let right in. The guy and girl working that day were really nice and helpful. I don’t like when people follow you around if you are just there to look. The staff totally did not do that. They answered questions and gave suggestions as to where to find certain things. I am psyched that they sell the Society brand which is out of Boston. I only hope they get new styles soon. Parking was easy and it was not hard to find, it is right off Mass Ave. I will certainly go back.

Yeah, the guy who owns the place may be a tough guy, anyone who’s been going to concepts for years knows that(he used to work there), yeah they have a bell to get in, who the hell cares. I say: good for them. The tannery is one of the worst places on this earth(in my opinion) and it is just not worth walking through it with its B.O. stench and getting harassed to get to concepts where no one pays you the time of day. so I say good for this tough guy and his pals for opening their own shop and moving on up. I’ve been, I’ll be back.

These shoes rule… these shoes suck… THESESHOE rule… BUTYOUGUYS suck! Shoes! Shoes! Shoes! Oh Ma Gawd! Incase you haven’t noticed, you are located in Boston. Some proud ass people live here. Bostonians are proud of our accents, our teams, our history and our culture. You don’t like us, than take yourselves back to Cali where ya came from, please. Or at the very least don’t insult my city or people when I came prepared to spend some money. Just because you are from Cali does not mean you are better. It means at most you may have shaked one more famous hand than I ever did. I am the Shoe Developer Goddess — simply put I make shoes. I won’t get all up in your face about what I do or defend it unless ofcouse you try to know more than you really do. Trust me I know shoes, so don’t argue with me that it cost $ 100 to build a pair of shoes. Um yeah because that’s bull. Just to make your margin you’d have to sell them for a hella lot more. The bell to get in — so played out and only reserved for people like Jacob the jeweler. When you have shoes that cost upwards of $ 1 million let’s revisit the bell, shall we? Try to be creative and do something different. I’m not sure what that is, but there are a ton of Marketing firms in the country — specifically NYC that could help you out. As noted in other reviews the dudes that own this place are total weiners. Here’s a clue — sneaker heads are willing to pay anything to buy a pair of shoes. They are not however willing to shell out anything on a pair of shoes when you treat people like doo doo. Guess what«limited edition» does not mean you are the only one to have them. Not any more anyway. Heck, that darn word should just be laid to rest in the dictionary cemetary. There are enough boutiques in the Boston area that have the same selection not to mention way better. To truely earn the respect of a sneaker head treat them with respect. They are more bound to come back not to mention pay a ridonculous amout of money for a pair of shoes just so they can have them. Seriously. You have been Unlaced gentleman.
